OBIT - Mrs. RICHARD COLBURN
Mrs. COLBURN died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. CHARLES BETTS at Boston on Friday, aged 86 years. The remains were brought to Oxford Jct. on Monday. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. W. BRITTON, a former pastor conducting the service assisted by Rev. P. R. HAYDEN. The service was held in the Presbyterian church, relatives and friends gathering to pay their last respects. The burial afterwards occurred in the River Philip cemetery.

The deceased had many relatives, even to the fourth generation. Her children surviving are one son, RUFUS, in Winnipeg,and three daughters, Mrs. ROBERT STEWART of Brookline, Mass, Mrs. CHARLES BETTS of Boston and Mrs. KENNEDY of Truro.

OBIT - Mrs. ANDREW THORNTHWAITE
This lady passed away at her home here on Tuesday aged 86 years. Her husband predeceased her less than a year ago. She was a daughter of the late JOSEPH MATTINSON of Mount Pleasant. Her surviving children are JAMES in States, and JOHN of Oxford. The funeral will be held on the arrival of relatives from the States on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

OBIT - JAMES VanBUSKIRK
The death took place at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. McLEOD, River John, of JAMES VanBUSKIRK, one of the most highly esteemed citizens of Eastern Cumberland. He had been ill for about three weeks and although all that loving hands could do, was done, to prolong his left, he passed peacefully away at 2 a.m. Friday morning the 22nd inst. The late Mr. VanBUSKIRK was a son of the late GABRIEL and NAOMI VanBUSKIRK of South Pugwash being one of a family of three. His younger brother JOSEPH was drowned while crossing the Mirimachi River in a canoe when only seventeen years of age, his only sister, Mrs. SUSAN MERRY of Inglisville, Annapolis Co. survives him.

The late Mr. VanBUSKIRK was married in 1859 to Miss MARY VANCE of Londonerry, who is still living. From this union there was a family of 5 sons, LEANDER M. of Pugwash, JOSEPH L. of Lynn, Mass. JAMES SYDNEY, Oxford and J. G. and W. C. VanBUSKIRK, Springhill, also 2 daughters, SARAH, wife of BAYNE VANCE, Londonerry and MELISSA, wife of J. W. McLEOD, River John all of whom are living to mourn the loss of a loving father.

The funeral was held from the home of his son LEANDER, Durham St. Pugwash on Monday at 1:30, Rev. A. LUND conducting the service assisted by Rev. G. R. KYLE, Oxford who gave the basis of his remarks Amos 4-12 "Prepare to meet They God". The floral offerings were very beautiful including:

Crescent - WILLIE and LIBBIE
Sheaf of Wheat - K. of P. Springhill.
Basket of Roses - Lamie Lodge, Springhill.
Wreath - K. P. Oxford.

The pall bearers were Messrs. DANIEL SUTHERLAND, ALEX KENNEDY, R. D. MITCHELL and BEECHER ROBINSON.
The late Mr.VanBUSKIRK was always ready to lend a helping hand to any one needing it. He was a quiet man never happier than when in his own home with children and grand children around him. It has been said that he was a pattern worthy of being followed, could we give him any higher eulogy.

OBIT - EPHRAIM MURRAY
The death occurred at 11:30 Friday morning Feb. 22nd of Mr. EPHRAIM MURRAY at Pugwash. Deceased was in his usual good health Friday morning. About 11:30 he went in the house to get warm. His wife, noticing him leaning back in his chair spoke to him and not getting any reply hastily summoned Dr. GOODWIN but life was extinct when he arrived, death being due to apoplexy.

The late Mr. MURRAY was born at Wallace Bay 73 years ago. In early life he removed to Port Elgin where he resided until 17 years ago when he removed to Pugwash.
One sister Mrs. BRADFORD OULTON, Amherst Shore, survives him.

Mr. MURRAY was married 3 times. His third wife, Mrs. EDMOND HICKS, Sackville, whom he married 26 years ago survive him. He is also survived by 4 daughters:

FRANCES, wife of STEPHEN VANEMBER , Northport,
AMANDA, wife of JAS. F. HARPER, Amherst,
GRACE, wife of J. W. WEBB, Pugwash, one step-daughter
LIZZIE, wife of Wm. GOWSE, Sackville and 3 sons,
BARNEY of Brooklyn, New York and
JOHN S. and ALBERT of Pugwash.

The funeral was held from his late residence, Queen St. on Sunday at 1:30, Rev. A. LUND officiating. The floral offering included a "Pillow" from the family and spray of Lilies and Ferns from J. H. HAYWARD.
The pall bearers were Messrs G. N. ALLEN, S. ALLEN, S. P. BORDEN and HENRY READ.

The late Mr. MURRAY was a quiet industrious citizen. The large number who followed the remains to their last resting place bore testimony to the respect and esteem in which he was held in the community.

HARRY EATON, who has been visiting relatives in town, has returned to his fine ranch property at Pense, Sask.
