Bridgetown Man Killed in Action
Sergt-Major WILLIAM R. McLEOD of Bridgetown is officially reported killed in action and five other members of the 25th Battalion wounded, among them being Sergt. JOHN F. HENRY and EDWARD J. PARKES, of Halifax, GEORGE L. ATWOOD
of Dartmouth.

OBIT - Mrs. ALICE LOUGHEAD
The death of Mrs. ALICE LOUGHEAD occurred, very suddenly, at the Highland View Hospital, Amherst on Sunday night, where some time ago she had undergone an operation and from which she was apparently making a steady recovery.

Mrs. LOUGHEAD was an estimable woman and her passing away will be heard of mourn one son FRANK, of Winnipeg, and one daughter, Mrs. B.L. TUCKER, of Parrsboro and a sister and 2 brothers who have our sincere sympathy in their loss.

Interment takes place at Truro.

News of the death of Mr. R. W. EDWARDS at his home at Southampton last week was heard with regret by a large number who had learned to prize his friendship. He leaves to mourn a wife and one daughter for whom deep sympathy is felt. The funeral took place at Springhill on Friday last, Rev. A.M. BENT conducted the services.

B.A. McNAB, editor of the Montreal Daily Mail, was married on Monday, Jan 10th at the church of St. James the Apostle, Montreal, to Miss LUCY WINIFRED TERRILL, of this city, formerly of Sherbrooke, Que. Rev. F. ELLIOTT BAKER, curate-in-charge of the church of St. James the Apostle, performing ceremony.
Mr. McNAB is a native of Wallace, N.S. His first wife was a Miss
McQUARRIE, Of Moncton.

Collingwood
Mrs. A. RICHARDS intends leaving on Friday for home at Providence, R.I. after spending the past 2 weeks with her parents Mr. & Mrs. ALEX COLBURN.

MR. & MRS. ALFRED GORDON announce the engagement of their daughter, HATTIE MAIE at Mr. PAUL LEONARD JOHNSON of Mervin, Sask, marriage to take place in the summer.

Miss ANNIE MacLEOD is visiting her sister, Mrs. FREDERIC SLEEPER, Boston

Mrs. HARRY HARVEY, Baltimore is visiting her parents Mr. & Mrs. M.F. BERGMAN.

A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the Methodist parsonage Monday the 24th inst, when Miss ANNIE COLTER, daughter of Mrs. GEORGE COLTER, Middleboro, was united in marriage to Mr. WILLARD RIPLEY of Collingwood.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. G.W. WHITMAN. The happy couple left on the evening train for a trip to Boston and other cities.

Mr. FRED SCIDMORE and daughter, DELLA have gone to Southampton to attend the funeral of his mother.

Mr. & Mrs. RUPERT COLBURN operator at Westchester arrived home from their wedding tour and are visiting his parents Mr. & Mrs. WILBUR COLBURN.
Their many friends wish them a long and happy married life.
