Died in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst on January 7, Oscar Joseph GAUVIN, 57, of Kolbec.

Died on January 7 at her home in Truro, Mrs. Myrtle Mae ANDREWS, a native of Oxford.

Mr. M.O. SEAMAN, Little River, has served as clerk-treasurer of the Little River Baptist Church for 49 years.

Mr. Elisha MILLER was honoured by members of the Oxford Fire Department on his retirement after 44 years of service. Mr. Miller has been an active fireman and he has served for several years as fire chief.

Mrs. Pauline GOULD of Collingwood picked some pussywillows on January 15.

Died - Carmen R. CHASE, 72, Thomson on January 18.

Mr. Frank SMITH, 82, West Pugwash, has performed the duties of Santa at Pugwash schools, churches, Cumberland Home and community tree for 56 years.

Died at Mount Pleasant on January 6, Ida Willa MAYNE, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mayne.

Died at Sackville Hospital on January 9, Mrs. Robert DOBSON, 69, for over 45 years a resident of Little River.

Mr. Chesley WALSH, Collingwood, having disposed of his foxes, has converted his ranch into an outdoor skating rink with an ice surface of about 80 by 120 feet.

Mrs. Lawrence MYATT, who broke her arm recently, returned home January 19 after spending a week in All Saints Hospital.

Died at East Leicester on January 7, Mrs. Henry LOCKHART, age 64.

Kenneth, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence KENNEDY, Pugwash, was badly burned on January 16 when a cup of gasoline exploded, setting his clothes on fire. Harry LAIRD had his hands burned badly tearing off the boy's burning clothes.

At the annual Craig-Wildy celebration of Crystal Wave Lodge, Pugwash, on January 15, Beecher ROBERTSON was presented with the Craig jewel.

Died at Rose, Westchester, on December 29, James STEWART, formerly of Birch Ridge.

Died at East Leicester on January 17, H.B. LOCKHART, age 84.

Died at Hansford recently, Mrs. Vencil SUMARA.
