Brakeman was Fatally Hurt
New Glasgow, April 16th…
JOHN MILLIGAN BARSS, a brakeman of the C.N.R. died at the Aberdeen Hospital this evening as the result of injuries received while at work a short time before. He was working with Conductor M. McGILLIVRAY on a freight special about 5:30 o’clock at Campbell’s Siding.

While shunting he fell from a car and the wheels passed over his body. He was at once rushed to New Glasgow and conveyed to the hospital, but died about 15 min. after reaching there.

Body of N.S. Farmer Found in Wood.
New Glasgow, N.S. April 17th

The body of the late HUGH A. MORRISON of Sundridge, farmer was discovered in the woods at Sundridge by McKENZIE FALCONER. Coroner Dr. ANDERSON was immediately notified and being unable to attend he sent A. McDOUGALL, J.P., to act as Coroner and on Sunday a jury was impaneled and sworn.

Williamsdale

Mrs. RICHARD WEATHERBEE received a telegram on Friday informing her of the death of her sister, Mrs. MANNING MILTON of Moncton, N.B.

Mrs. MILTON visited Mrs. WEATHERBEE several summers and her death at the age of 25 years is regretted by all who knew her; besides her father, mother, brothers and sisters and husband, she leaves one son, 5 years old. Her brother WILFRID is still overseas. The funeral service was largely attended, over 20 beautiful floral offerings covering the casket. Interment at Moncton.

MARRIED

At Amherst on April 17th, by Rev. D.A. STEELE, D.D., GLENNIE AMO HODSON to GWENDOLEN BEATRICE, daughter of Mr. SEAMAN TERRIS, all of River Philip.

DIED

At Linden, on April 14th, JEREMIAH FINLEY, aged 74 years. He leaves to mourn their loss 4 sons,

EDGAR and HENRY on the home farm
IVAN at Stewiacke and
RUSSELL at Halifax, also one daughter,
Mrs. DAVID A. HUSTON of Amherst.

At Salt Springs on April 5th, ARCHIE McDONALD, aged 26 years. The deceased served his country overseas in the firing line 3 years.

JOHN B. TAYLOR of Springhill who has been working in the Mines for about 3 months, was fatally injured on Saturday, passing away in Cottage Hospital. Mr. TAYLOR was for many years engaged in temperance work, being District Secretary of the Good Templars.
