Born at Thomson on April 13th to Mr. & Mrs. WILLIAM THOMSON, a son.

THOMAS AMON said to be 84 years old was found dead in his bed at Port Greville yesterday morning. He had been caulking a vessel all day Saturday and had gone to bed apparently in his usual health. Mr. AMON was a resident of Parrsboro but had been working this spring at Port Greville. The deceased is the father of WENDELL A. AMON and Wm A. AMON of Oxford.


WEDDING FULTON - GAMBLE
At 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon April 8th a quiet wedding was
solemnized at the Presbyterian Mance, Bass River, when Miss LYDA MAE GAMBLE, daughter of Mrs. MARY GAMBLE of Castlereagh was united in marriage to Mr. ERNEST FULTON of Portapique. Rev. R.L. COFFIN performed the ceremony in the presence of a few immediate relatives and friends.
The bride wore a tailored suit of blue serge and hat to match. After
the ceremony the bridge and groom accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. JOHN GAMBLE, the former being a brother of the bride, drove to the bride's former home in Castlereagh, where a reception was held.
A party of about 50 of the bride and grooms relatives and friends were present and a dance was enjoyed by both young and old. A bountiful supper was served, which was much enjoyed.
Mr. & Mrs. FULTON were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents, including cash, linen, silverware and china, showing the esteem in which bride and groom are held by their many friends. Mr. & Mrs. FULTON will reside in Portapique.

OBIT - Mr. ROBERT WESLEY SMITH
Mr. ROBERT WESLEY SMITH, a well known and highly respected resident of Lr. Shinimicas passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, April 21st, at the age of 72 years. He was a faithful member of the Methodist church and had spent a most useful life in the community. He is survived by a widow, 5 sons and 5 daughters of whom Mrs. S.J. REID of Oxford is one. All of the family except a daughter residing in the states were present at the funeral, which was very largely attended on Sunday afternoon. The burial took place at Shinimicas.

OBIT - Mrs. JOSEPH JEWKES
The sudden death of Mrs. JOSEPH JEWKES occurred at noon on Tuesday, after a weeks illness of pneumonia. Many friends of the deceased were ignorant of her illness and to them and to many others the news of her death came with a great shock. She was 68 yrs of age and was a faithful member of the Methodist church. She leaves a husband, 4 sons & 2 daughters.
ARTHUR, CHARLES, JAMES & HAL and a daughter Mrs. BROPHY & Mrs. J. HARGRAVES all of Springhill.

BORN
At Stellarton on April 23rd to Mr. & Mrs. A.R. McDONALD, a daughter.

EDWARD THOMPSON, Jr. motorman of Boston, Mass has returned tohis home in Oxford.

Mrs. ARCHIBALD FRASER of Calgary, who has been visiting her many friends in Oxford and vicinity for some months past, left for the west yesterday accompanied by her niece, Miss BELLE BROWNELL.

OBIT - Mrs. JAMES JEFFERS
Mrs. JAMES JEFFERS of Foundry St, passed away this morning, leaving a husband and a large family of children, of whom the infant, a youngest, is an infant a few days old, to mourn her loss.

Rev. SELDON W. CUMMINGS, who a few years ago was pastor of the Baptist church at Amherst, now of Passadena, California has received the degree of Doctor of Divinity from the University of Redlands, California.
