Amherst, NS Feb. 17th
A shocking accident took place at Chignecto on Sunday afternoon where HUBERT BERRY lost his life.

The deceased was accompanied by a man, H. PARKER. They were cruising through the woods with guns.
They had separated and were circling around to meet. BERRY slipped on the ice and his gun fell from his hands, pointing towards his breast and was then discharged. The bullet entered below the left shoulder, coming out near the spine. PARKER immediately ran to his assistance but BERRY only uttered a few words. He died almost instantly. He was government inspector of coal and had lived at Chignecto for many years. He was a man very highly thought of. He leaves a widow and 11 children.
