LITTLE RIVER
Mr. & Mrs. ARTHUR PURDY of this place attended the funeral of Master HAROLD THOMPSON ANGUS, son of Mr. & Mrs. WALTER ANGUS, Lower Shinimicas, on Tuesday, June 9th.

BECKWITH - June 15th
Mrs. HARRY LAUGHTEN of Haverhill, Mass is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. FRANCIS MATTINSON.

OBIT - Mrs. ALICE BETTS
Many hearts in Oxford and elsewhere in this county were saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. BETTS Sunday, widow of the late ARTHUR BETTS. The deceased moved to Greystone, Near Providence, R.I., where she made her home with her daughter, Miss IRENE, district nurse.
Although in poor health for some years, an attack of lagrippe was the immediate cause of her death. The remains were brought here last evening and the funeral service will be held in the Methodist Church this afternoon at 2:30.
The near surviving relatives are one daughter & one son, Miss IRENE & RAYMOND. JOSHUA LIVINGSTON, ex M.P.P. is a brother. The Journal unites with many friends in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones.

At Thomson, June 8th to Mr.& Mrs. WILLIAM WARREN, a son.
At Oxford, June 15th to Mr. & Mrs. ISAAC PEEL, a daughter.
At Oxford, June 17th to Mr. & Mrs. BYRON MATTINSON, a son.

(This last name should be MATHESON - BYRON MATHESON was my husband's grandfather - Dyan)

DIED
On Sunday, June 7th at Lr. Shinimicas, Cumb. Co., N.S., HAROLD ANGUS, son of Mr. & Mrs. WALTER ANGUS, aged 9 years.

OBIT - NICHOLAS McLEAN
There passed away after a lingering illness Mr. NICHOLAS McLEAN of North Greenville, in the 76th year of his age. He was a resident of Londonderry for over 35 years, where he was highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves 1 brother, DAN of Folly River, Col Co., Also a widow and 1 daughter, Mrs. GAY JOHNSON, Little River and a son, WALTER at home. Service was conducted by the Rev. MacASKILL, assisted by Rev. Mr. SMITH, Baptist, interment at Union Cemetery.
