Williamsdale's oldest citizen one highly respected in the community, Mr. JAMES KING, passed away at the home of his daughter on Wednesday. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon, Rev. Mr. DAVIES officiating.
He leaves 2 daughters, Mrs. FRED NIX and Mrs. JOHN CHISHOLM and one son, WILLIAM, at Williamsdale, also 2 sisters, Mrs. MURPHY Londonderry and Mrs. GIDRON McCORMICK, Springhill.

Dr. & Mrs. G.E. deWITT of Wolfville, announce the engagement of their daughter, NELLIE ANDERSON to Mr. WILEY M. MANNING of Amherst, son of Rev. Dr. & Mrs. MANNING of Wolfville. The marriage to take place early in February.

On Wednesday evening of the 2nd inst the home of Mrs. JAMES R. FOOTE of Economy, NS was the scene of a pleasing event, when some thirty five of both married and single folks of that place gathered at her home and gave a delightful and felicitious shower in honor of her son and his new made bride, Mr. & Mrs. S. GEORGE FOOTE of Economy, N.S. The happy young couple were taken completely by surprise and after all enjoyed a nice sociable evening in music games and colloquy a dainty luncheon was part taken of, following which the bride and groom were showered with many useful and pretty gifts, thus evincing the esteem and popularity they both hold in the hearts of their friends in the community wherein they dwell. With sincere wishes for a long and happy wedded life, there was brought to a close one of those pleasing events that go to make life a real enjoyable pageant and with a joyous "Goodnight" all returned to their homes with a gratification in mind of being one of those present.
The bride named in the above event was formerly, Miss GRACE K. FRASER of Oxford, NS

Mrs. CHARLES SEAMAN passed away at her home at Six Mile Road, on Monday morning, after a short illness. She leaves to mourn a husband and 4 children.
The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.

Private JOSEPH CLARKE, son of Mr. & Mrs. J.H. CLARKE, of Pugwash who has seen much service in France has arrived home.

At the Baptist Parsonage, Parrsboro, NS on Jan 2nd, 1918 by Rev. Z.L. FASH, ROY MAXWELL CLARKE and ELSIE JANE HATFIELD, both of Parrsboro, NS.

Married - ASH - SCOTT
Mr. MOSES E. ASH and Mrs. AUGUSTA P. SCOTT, both of this city were united in marriage, Dec 24th by Rev. N.W. MATTHEWS, at the parsonage. 15 Ellsworth St., Lowell, Mass. They were attended by Mr. & Mrs. FRED LEITH.

Pugwash Heroes Honored
A congregation, which filled St. George's Church of England Pugwash to overflowing assembled on Monday evening 7th inst, to do honor to the memory of the following Pugwash men who have made the supreme sacrifice on the field of battle.
