Mrs. ALLAN HUNTER of Providence, R.I. is the guest of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. R.W. COOPER.

Miss CARRIE PAUL started for Edmonton on the 27 May, where she intends to teach.

WEDDING: THOMPSON - THOMPSON

A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of the bride's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. WILBERT THOMPSON, Little River on June 8th, when their youngest daughter, LALIA ELLEN and MURRAY M. THOMPSON of Oxford were united in marriage.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. S.A. MacDOUGALL in the presence of a few intimate friends and relatives of the contracting parties. At 8 o'clock the happy couple entered the parlor to the strains of Lohengrin Wedding March rendered by Miss IRENE L. HICKMAN, cousin of the bride. The bride was becomingly attired in Cream Cashmere with applique trimmings and was given away by her father. Both bride and groom were unattended. Her going away suit was of green chiffon broad-cloth with white picture hat.
The bride and groom were the reciepients of many beautiful gifts. The grooms present to the bride was a handsome gold watch and chain. Following the nuptials a dainty collation and refreshments were served, after which the happy couple left for their future home in Oxford.

DIED
The death of JOHN SEAMAN one of the leading citizens of East Cumberland, occurred at his home at Kerr's Mills on Thursday last. The funeral took place on the following day. Mr. SEAMAN, at the time of his death was about 78 years of age. The deceased was a man greatly respected and esteemed by all that knew him.

On Sat the 4th a very sad fatality occurred at Wallace River, when Mr. ALBERT FLEMMING, who while bathing in that river was suddenly seized with a cramp and drown. He was nearly 60 years old and leaves a widow, who with a son, OSCAR are in the west, also some other members of the family are home.

Miss MABEL G. HENLEY of Waltham, Mass is spending vacation with her parents Mr. Y& Mrs. J.W. HENLEY of Kolbec.

Miss MARY PORTER returned from Beckwith (she was teaching there).

Miss IRENE PORTER has recently arrived home from Boston, Mass.

Miss IDA McKAY a teacher at Streets Ridge is from Tatamagouche.

Mr. WALTER F. ANGUS of Cambridge, Mass has returned to the states after visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. H.S. ANGUS of "Pleasant View" farm at West Pugwash, NS.

HARRY BETCHER of Attleboro, Mass is visiting his mother Mrs. E. BETCHER.

Miss HATTIE SMITH accompanied by Sister In Law, Mrs. AINSLEY SMITH of Providence, R.I. are visiting at the home of the former Mr. ALONZO SMITH.

Messrs MARTIN KING & GEORGE KING of Attleboro are visiting old friends.

BORN
July 1st to Mr. & Mrs. A.E. SMITH, a son.
July 9th to Mr & Mrs. SAMUEL SIDDALL, a son
July 17th Fri, to Mr. & Mrs. IRA M. McLEOD of Pugwash, a son.
Mr. & Mrs. H. BOUSER, a girl.

Mr. & Mrs. MAYNARD KING of Mt. Pleasant are the proud parents of a baby, which at 2 1/2 months old weighed 17 1/2 lbs.

ANNIV
Mr. & Mrs. DANIEL COLTER of Hartford celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Tuesday, July 7th.

WEDDING MILLER - FILLMORE
Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the home of Mr. ARTHUR MILLER, brother of the groom at Mt. Pleasant.
Miss CLORINDA MAUDE FILLMORE from Truro, N.S. and Mr. HARRY ERSKINE MILLER of the Thomson Station Company of Vancouver Bridge given by GEORGE MILLER, one of the 4 brother of the groom in attendance. Two came from Burlington, Wash. Miss FILLMORE is a daughter of Mr. ASA FILLMORE 2nd of River Phillip.

Rev. Mr. MITCHELL of Red Bank, N.B. has been preaching for the Presbyterian Church here for the past few Sundays.

DEATH
Word has been received here of the sudden death of 2 children (twins) of Mr. CHARLES RALSTON a former resident of River Phillip, which occurred recently at their home in Attleboro, Mass. Death was from cholera infantum.

Mrs. WILLIAM CATES of Shulee, age 55 yrs. She leaves husband, 5 sons & 3 daughters.
