THOMSON
The death of SAMUEL PATTERSON took place the 4th inst. A widow, nee SARAH McPHERSON, 3 boys, DAVID & JOHN of Thomson and JONATHAN of Vancouver, B.C. and 4 girls:
Mrs. BURNS - Shinimicas
Mrs. FRASER - Calgary
Mrs. TAYLOR - Williamsdale
CHRISTINA - at home with her mother to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father.

MR. & Mrs. DUNCAN SCHURMAN of Collingwood are rejoicing over their new baby daughter.

OBIT - JAMES GRAY
Mr. JAMES GRAY died at his residence, James St. on Wednesday January 7th at the age of 62 years. Mr. GRAY was for about 39 years a faithful employee of Oxford Woolen Mills, his position when he gave up work 3 months ago being foreman of the cloth finishing department.
He was of a genial disposition and a general favorite with all his
acquaintances. Being a great reader especially of newspaper, he was a keen debator and was well versed in political matters,being a strong Conservative. He and the late ALEX REID used to have many warm arguments over their opposing political parties.
Mr. GRAY was a great lover of his home and family and his widow and daughter, Miss MAUDE will sorely miss his presence.
The funeral service was held at his late residence on Friday afternoon, his pastor, Rev. W.H. WATTS officiating. He stated that the departed brother was a great sufferer, but his faith was strong in God and eternal things. He impressed upon the large number of sympathizing friends who gathered, the injunction, "Be ye also ready". The hymns "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me", were sung.
Among those present at the funeral were several officers and employees of the Woolen Mills. Mr. GRAY was a member of the branch of the Independent Order of Foresters and also belonged to Mystic Tie Lodge of Oddfellows of this town, who attended the obsequies of their brother and marched in the procession to Pine Grove Cemetery.

OBIT - Mrs. BRENTON A. MacNAB
A telegram was received notifying of the death of Mrs. BRENTON A. McNAB, which occurred in Montreal shortly after midnight Tuesday nite.
The deceased lady was the wife of one of the best known newspapermen in Canada and was formerly a Miss McQUARRIE of Moncton. On Sunday last Mrs. MacNAB was brought down to the city of Montreal where a cold rapidly developed into pneumonia, to which she succumbed early Tuesday morning. She was about 49 year of age.
The remains will be brought to Wallace, N.S. the former home of Mr. MacNAB for interment Thursday morning. The body will be taken on No.2 Express for interment.

OBIT - Mrs. OLIVER McLEOD
The death of Mrs. OLIVER McLEOD took place on Thursday afternoon, following a rather prolonged illness. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. ALEX URQUHART of this town and was well known, particularly to the younger set. She leaves to mourn her early demise her husband a little son of tender age. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved friends - (This was in the New Glasgow Enterprise) The deceased is the sister of Mr. J.E. URQUHART of Oxford.

Rev. FRED M. CLAY, formerly of Pugwash, N.S. is now the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Lee, Mass.

At Oxford on Jan 12th to Mr. & Mrs. R. VanAMBURG, a daughter.

Married at Oxford on January 8th, 1914 by the Rev. G.S. MITCHELL, HUGH FRASER of Oxford and BRIDGET BOON of Pugwash, N.S.

OBIT - Mr. SAMUEL PATTERSON
Mr. SAMUEL PATTERSON one the the best known and most respected residents of Pugwash River passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 4th at the good old age of 74 years and 9 months. Although suffering poor health for a number of years his death was hastened by an accident last summer, when he sustained a fracture of one of his legs by a fall from a load of hay.
The funeral was held on the following Tuesday, Rev. J.W. BRITTON of Pugwash officiated. The buriel took place in the Pugwash River Cemetery. The surviving relatives are: a widow, Children:
