OBIT - Mr. JOHN G. FRASER
Pugwash, Dec 2 -

The death of Mr. JOHN G. FRASER, formerly of Pugwash, occurred at his home in Springhill, NS on Tuesday, 26th .inst. after a long illness from heart trouble. The late Mr. FRASER was born at East River, Pictou Co, in 1839; in early life he married Miss MARY MacRAE of McLellan's Mountain. From this union there was one son, DONALD, now living in Rockville Centre, New York. After a few years of happy married life the late Mr. FRASER was a widower and later married Miss JESSIE FRASER and settled in Pugwash where they resided until Mrs. FRASER's death, which occurred in 1902. The remains arrived in Pugwash on the 28th and were taken to the Presbyterian church from which place the funeral was held on Friday at 11 am. Rev. M.B. WHITMAN officiating. Interment was made in the Rockley Cemetery. The late Mr. FRASER was an active worker in the Presbyterian Church and it was under his supervision that St. Matthews church here was enlarged and remodeled some years ago. Airman HAROLD DAVIS Died from Pneumonia

Again it is the Journal's painful duty to record the death of another of Oxford's noble boys overseas. Mr. & Mrs. W.H. DAVIS on Monday forenoon received 2 telegrams dated Nov. 17th and 19th, the first stating that their son HAROLD was seriously ill of pneumonia and the second conveying the sad news that he had succumbed to pneumonia. It is mysterious what had delayed dispatches, also it is singular that his last letter home was dated Nov. 17th. It is heartbreaking to receive such tidings and the parents were looking forward with high expectations to the return of HALLEY and WALTON at an early date. HALLEY as he was generally known enlisted with the 193rd squad in Oxford drilled here and at Aldershot and finally went over to England. After considerable fitting up in England, he proceeded to the scene of action in France, nobly doing his duty in the cause of humanity. Some time ago he returned to England and took up a flying course of training, recently writing home that he had taken a flight as an airman. HAROLD was a young man of splendid character, popular with all. The relatives have the deepest sympathy in their bereavement.
