OBIT - Mr. SYLVESTER EMBREE
Mr. SYLVESTER EMBREE, a well known resident of this town and vicinity passed away at the residence of ALEX EMBREE on Sunday forenoon, aged 70 years. He was ill for some time suffering from Tuberculosis. The surviving closest relatives are 2 sisters. Mrs. ALEX McINNES and Miss MATILDA EMBREE of this town and 3 half brothers, ALEX, ROBERT & WELDON EMBREE. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon. Rev. P. R. HAYDEN conducting the service. A number of sympathizing relatives followed the remains to Pine Grove Cemetery, where the interment took place.

OBIT - The Sydney Post Says:
Mr. D. BUOTE died suddenly at his home at midnight Monday nite. His death is attributed to heart failure. Mr. BUOTE was sitting down when the summons came without warning. The late Mr. BUOTE came to Sydney from P.E. Island about 12 years ago, was 74 years of age and was well known throughout this city. Mrs. BUOTE as well as 8 children survive him. STANLEY & FRANK BUOTE of Sydney and JEROME BUOTE of Oxford, N.S. are sons of the deceased.

OBIT - Mr. G.O. GATES
Truro, N.S. April 22nd - After a long and painful illness confined to his rooms for the last 6 months a well known citizen, Mr. G.O. GATES past peacefully away at 11:30 o'clock today at his home. For long years Mr. GATES had been a musician, At one time he was connected with the Gates Organ Factory in this town, & latterly he had been a skilled tuner of musical instruments, his field of work covering the whole Maritime Provinces.

MARRIAGE
Mr. & Mrs. HOWARD THOMPSON of this town announce the marriage of their daughter FLORA REBECCA & Mr. ROSS JENKINS LUNN to be solemnized on Tuesday 12th of May 1914 at 3:30 pm at their residence, "Evergreen Retreat".
