Another Hero Gives Life in Action
Mr. & Mrs. ALFRED GORDON have received a telegram conveying the sad news that their son GEORGE REX GORDON was killed in action in France on August 21st.
REX enlisted with the 193rd here and drilled at Aldershot, going overseas to England and recently went to France with other town boys.
He was a fine young man of good physique and general regret is expressed that he is thus taken. His parents, his brothers and sisters, and relatives have the deep sympathy of a large circle of friends.HONOR ROLL

Mrs. SILAR DAVIDSON and daughter Miss GLENDYN and grand-daughter, JOSEPHINE DAVIDSON, of Midway, B.C. are visiting friends here.** Mrs. CHAS. LEONARD of Wrentham, Mass and Mrs. GEO. SMITH of Dorchester, Mass, who are visiting at their old home at Middleboro, took in the celebration here on Monday.

Mr. EPHRAIM BROWNELL, while loading machinery on to a cart, suddenly dropped unconscious to the ground, expiring instantly. He was a well known farmer, residing on the Tyndale road near Amherst.NORTHPORT
A sad tragedy happened in Northport Monday afternoon. BICKFORD BRYSON, son of FRED BRYSON, guard at the Internment Camp, Amherst, was drowned. He was swimming in the river. DICKSON PIPES dived for the body and brought it up from the bottom of the channel. This should be a warning to the kids climbing about the boats.
