OBIT - DANIEL ROSS

The sad death took place at South Victoria of Mr. DANIEL ROSS. He was in failing health for some time, but was only in bed the last 10 days. It came as a sudden shock to the bereaved ones. He leaves to mourn his loss a kind and loving wife and 3 children at home, one in New Glasgow, one overseas, one daughter, Mrs. THOMAS W. BROWN in Londonderry Mines and one daughter, Mrs. HOWARD JONES in U.S.A. He was 83 years old. The hymns sung were: “What A Friend We Have in Jesus”,
“Asleep In Jesus”, and “Lead Kindly Light”. The chapter read was John 14. Mr. ROSS was the member of the Methodist Church.

OBIT - Mrs. MARJORY McKIM
Hartford, NS ­ March 24th

The death of Mrs. MARJORY McKIM widow of the late ANDREW McKIM of this place occurred on Saturday night the 8th and on the following Tuesday afternoon her remains were followed by a huge concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors to her last resting place at Chapman’s Cemetery at Wallace River.

Mr. D. CLARK of Pugwash being the undertaker in charge. The funeral services were held at the home of the deceased. Prayer being offered by Rev. A. LUND and the address by Rev. M.B. WHITMAN both of Pugwash.

The following hymns were sung at the service: “My Savior First of All”, Asleep In Jesus”, Does Jesus Cure”, and “Looking This Way”.

Mrs. McKIM lived to a ripe old age, having passed 4 score years the 15th of last month. The deceased was an active member of the Baptist Church during the last 40 years of her life. Respected and loved by all who knew her. She was the mother of 4 children:

ALLEN of Somerville, Mass
Mrs. ALEX HARRISON, residing at old home and
Mrs. WARREN PEERS of Acadia Valley, Alta.

DIED
At Diligent River, March 18th there passed away HENRY M. LAMB, age 57 years. He was the son of the late SANFORD M. LAMB and Mrs. LAMB.

BIRTHS
March 26th to Mr. & Mrs. ALEX CAMERON, a son.

At Oxford, on March 23rd to Mr. & Mrs. Wm. MILLER, a daughter.

At Collingwood on March 22nd to Mr.& Mrs. BYRON MATTINSON (this should be MATHESON), a daughter.

OBIT - MERRITT C. JOHNSON

MERRITT K. JOHNSON of 8 Smith Avenue, Lowell, Mass died at the Lowell Corporation Hospital, aged 59 years, 7 months and 9 days.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. ANNIE L. JOHNSON, 2 sons
H. CRAIG JOHNSON of Lowell and REGINALD A. JOHNSON of Lynn, 2 brothers:

HENRY C. JOHNSON of Lowell and
HIRIAM JOHNSON of Oxford, Nova Scotia and 4 sisters,
Mrs. JAMES PATTERSON
Mrs. CARRIE CARTER and
Mrs. ROBERT MacKENNA all of Nova Scotia

Mr. JOHNSON was a member of Merrimack Valley Lodge, No 7196, I.O.O.F., M.U., and the Ancient Order of United Workmen, No. 22.

The funeral was held from his residence at 2 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. NATHANIAL W. MOTTHEWS, pastor of the First Primitive Methodist Church. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. Very large delegations were present, representing the different lodges of which deceased was connected.
Burial was in the family lot in the Westlawn Cemetery.
