WEDDING BELLS - BARNES - BAIRD
The marriage of Vera M. BAIRD, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred BAIRD to Sidney BARNES of Woods Point, N.B., was solemnized at the home of the bride, on Wednesday afternoon, Sept 24th, Rev. W.E. SCOTT, pastor of the Baptist church officiating.
The bride, who looked very attractive in her travelling suit of sand andblue and carrying a beautiful boquet of roses and fern, was given away by her father.
Mrs. LIVINGSTON, an aunt of the bride, played the Wedding March and Miss Bessie ROBB sand “Oh Promise Me”. Shortly after lunch was served the bride and groom left on a short honeymoon trip.
The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts, including cut glass, silverware and cheques. The Journal joins with many friends in extending congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. BARNES.

OBIT - Mrs. Cornelia ADSHADE
Mrs. Cornelia, widow of the late George E. ADSHADE passed away at the home of her son, Edmund ADSHADE, Mansfield, Sept 19th at age 77 years.
The deceased had been in poor health for some time and her deathwas not unexpected. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons and one daughter. The sons are:
Edmund of Mansfield
George W. & Henry of Little River
and one daughter Mrs. Clara MATHESON of US.
The funeral took place Saturday afternoon, Sept 20th from her late home.

Rev. Mr. KIERSTEAD, Methodist conducted the services at the house and grave, Mr. E. MacDOUGALL was funeral director. Burial took place at Mansfield Cemetery.

WEDDING BELLS - McGEE - McCABE
A pretty wedding took place on Sept 23, 1919, at the church at Glenville at 7 pm, when Miss Georgia E. McCABE, became the bride of Mr. John W. McGEE of Moncton. Rev. Alban DANIEL, pastor of the Methodist Church, Parrsboro and uncle of the bride, performing the ceremony. The decorations of ferns, potted plants and autumn leaves were very pretty.
The bride entered the church leaning on the arm of her father, C.G. McCABE and was charmingly dressed in a wedding frock of white satin, with all over point d’esprit lace. She wore the conventional veil andorange blossoms andcarried a bridal bouquet of pink and white roses, and asparagus fern. The bridal march, Lobengrias was played by Mrs. Colby CANNING. After the ceremony a reception at which immediate friends and relatives were present was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The happy couple left on the evening train for Boston and American cities and after their honeymoon will make their home in Moncton. The bride’s travelling suit was of nigger brown broadcloth with hat to match. She received many gifts including cheques, cut glass and linen. Appropriate presentations were made to the ushers and organist.
