Q9

From: Brian Miller
Subject: Francis Miller (Muller??)

I am trying to locate some information regarding the parents of my 6th g-grandfather, Francis Miller.  I am hoping you might have something in one of the books you have in your collection.  I am very quickly running out of ideas to find any further information.  Here's what I do know:

Francis Miller (Muller??) who came to Nova Scotia from New York (Albany Co now Schoharie Co) around 1765 (Planter). Francis died in NS in 1817. He was married to a Mary (Molly, Magdalena) Craft (widow of a Michael Craft) and she also came from New York. Nothing more is known about Mary. It is believed they were married in NY before coming to NS although that may not be the case. It has been suggested by family members researching this that his ancestry may lie in Flat Bush NY or in the Mohawk Valley of NY. Francis had four sons - Henry, Adam Francis, Jacob and John and it is possible that one of these is the name of Francis' father. Henry left NS and moved to Newburgh, Orange CO. NY to take up the holdings of an uncle. The descendants of Francis have been fairly well chronicled as have those of a Michael Miller, a New York Loyalist of German extraction. It is believed there is a connection between Francis and Micahel but it is not known.

I am absolutely stuck and am trying any and all options out there.  Please let me know if you have any luck or suggestions for finding something additional.
Thanks in advance!

Subject: Clementsport/Annapolis County NS

I am looking for information on Peter Allaire who was a Loyalist from New York. Information that I have found indicates that he and his wife settled in Clementsport. Other info indicates Annapolis Royal, however in a book I was reading History of the County of Annapolis it says Clementsport.

How do I find out about the birth of his children?  I know he had two or three children (two boys/1 girl) born in Nova Scotia. Some records indicate one son born in Annapolis Royal and the other in Digby. I am quite confused.
