She worked as a seamstress at Highland View Regional Hospital. She was a member of Wesleyan Church; was secretary treasurer; Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. She was also secretary for the Blind Club, Amherst. Surviving are son, Roy Halfkenny, Joggins; sisters, Margaret Ripley, Amherst; Marion Faye, Shelburne; Hazel Amos, Northridge, Calif.; several nieces and nephews. Born in Meteghan Station, she was a daughter of the late Moise and Elizabeth (Thibodeau) Deveau. Hospital. Born in River John, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late George and Velda 
(Langille) Redmond. She worked at the Halifax Infirmary before going into business with her 
husband, Allain, where she managed the administration of Al LeBlanc Services Ltd. Mom loved to 
learn and laugh. Her home and the homes of those she loved most dear are decorated with 
beautiful wreaths, flower baskets and many other crafts which she used to express her affection. 
Her deep devotion as a mother and grandmother will always live on in our hearts. Surviving are

LeBLANC, Eric Gerald - 40, Calgary, Alta., formerly of Halifax, died November 7, 1996, in 
Nigeria, Africa, as the result of an air accident. He was a son of Gerald and Rose LeBlanc, 
Halifax. He was a well-known musician in the Halifax area for many years. He worked for 
Schlumberger Canada for 12 years and, in the past year, with Fekete Associates Inc., Calgary. He 
was very involved in many charitable organizations, was grand knight of the Knights of Columbus 
and coordinator of Santas (and a Santa) for the Spirit of Christmas. Surviving are his wife, the 
former Jamie Keefe; son, Jason; daughter, Kristen; brothers, Donald, Dartmouth; David, Lower

founding member of Clare Golf and Country Club and was well-known for his oil paintings. He is

department of Colchester Regional Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She attended St.

years, she was Chief Telephone Operator in Amherst, Truro, New Glasgow and Halifax, with MT&T. 
Prior to her retirement, she held the position of Traffic Assistant Trainer in Operator Service. 
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and an avid traveller who enjoyed hunting 
and fishing. She is survived by two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Allan Moss), Truro; Helen (Mrs. Gordon 
MacLeod), Argyle; two brothers, Lawrence, Sterling, Ont.; Gerald, Yarmouth. She was predeceased

home. Born in Port Royal, he was a son of the late Emile and Elma (Frank) LeBlanc. He is 
survived by five daughters, Violet (Mrs. Floyd MacDonald), Janvrin Harbour; Helen (Mrs. Venard

LeBLANC, Gordon Roger - 79, New Minas, died December 9, 1993, as the result of a motor vehicle 
accident. Born in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Pius and Erite (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. He was a 
member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville and was an active member of the Knights 
of Columbus. He was a veteran of the Second World War and worked for the Dominion Atlantic 
Railway for 17 years. He was the superintendent of Grand Pre National Historic Park for 22 
years, during which time he oversaw the establishment of the Interpretation Centre and the 
Blacksmith Shop. An avid historian, he was a member of the Wolfville Historical Society. He is 
survived by his wife, the former Marie Cecile Chiasson; two sons, Eric, Malibu; Gordon Jr., 
Dartmouth; two daughters, Yvette Roland, New Minas; Janice Rogers, Lunenburg; six grandchildren; 
six sisters, Alfreda (Mrs. Samuel B. Mayo), Louise (Mrs. Elzear Robichaud), Blanche (Mrs. Leo 
LeBlanc), all of Wedgeport; Claudia (Mrs. Dennis Richard), Marie (Mrs. Ernest Pothier), both of 
Halifax; Lorraine (Mrs. Vernon LeBlanc), Montreal; brother, Eugene, Petawawa, Ont. He was 
predeceased by a sister, Pauline; five brothers, Archibald, Percy, Edmund, Hector, Edward.

Church, Cheticamp. He is survived by his wife, the former Bernadette Poirier; four sisters,

Toronto; brother, Wilfred, Point Cross. He was predeceased by three sisters, Adele, Anita, Marie

LeBLANC, Henry Robert - 19 Westminster Ave., Amherst, died July 26, 1997, in Highland View 
Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Adolphe and Josephine (St. 
Peter) LeBlanc. For most of his life, he worked for Enheat in Amherst and Sackville, N.B. He 
also worked for Central Casting in Amherst. He served in the Canadian Army in Continental Europe 
from 1951-1953. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his 
wife, the former Alice Gautreau; daughter, Angela LeBlanc, at home; sons, Eric, at home; Robert, 
Mississauga, Ont.; John, Fredericton, N.B.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and 
nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Leona Ibbitson; son, Gordon; infant 
son, Roger; several brothers and sisters. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, parish prayers 8 p.m. 
today, both in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Charles Roman

school for 39 years retiring in 1978. She is survived by brothers, Dr. Joseph and wife, Anne 
LeBlanc, Yarmouth; Rev. Gerald LeBlanc, Wedgeport; sister-in-law, Doris LeBlanc, Wedgeport; 
brother-in-law, Charles Pothier, Halifax. She was predeceased by her brother, Chester LeBlanc; 
sister, Ona Pothier. Her remains are resting in the Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation
