Cabin

Donations can be made through our Facebook page

The log cabin situated in Prairie Village was built in 1870. It is the oldest complete log cabins left in Norman County. Currently the cabin is closed to the public due to safety concerns. One of the Societies goals is to expand educational programming for children (and adults) by providing experiences of what it was like to live during the early days of Norman Counties settlement. The cabin is a focal point for that experience but first we must restore the cabin to a safe condition by-

  • Dismantling cabin and pouring solid foundation

  • Reassemble and repair roof and chinking

  • Restore cabin interior to replication of cabin living during the early days
