3 i. Mercy Nichols3 was born in East Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island December 24, 1722. She died 1815 in West Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island. Mercy married Josiah Matteson in Rhode Island, March 5, 1745. Josiah was born in Rhode Island 1720. He was the son of Joseph Matteson and Rachel Weaver.
