ANDERSON - Scotland 1800's Elizabeth Anderson married John Ward
BARCLAY -Belfast area, Ireland 1800's Jean Barclay married James Colquhoun [Ca-hoon]
COLQUHOUN - Scotland, around Glasgow. Various places. Great-grandfather J. Colquhoun
was first a baker's van driver, then worked up to owning his own bakery. Found verification
in the 1881 census with wife, Jean Barclay. G-uncle, James Colquhoun inherited the
business when his father died in the early 1900's
WARD - Ireland, Scotland circa 1800's to 1930 Some were born in Paisley, Scotland (where
the famous Paisley prints -copied from India- are woven.) [First names: John, James,
Robert, Charles, Agnes, Annie, Elizabeth, Jessie, Margaret, Marion] JESSIE WARD
married ARCHIE CURROR. When Jessie died of influenza, Arch took their only child with
him to Australia. Nobody heard from either of them after October 1918; we don't know if
they arrived on Australian shores
MELOY - Renovo, PA [Said to have come from Scots-Irish descent,
but I can go no further back than George W. Meloy, who was in the Civil War.
BEYER - Renovo, PA out of Germany(supposed to go back to the original group of
Swenkenfelder's on the Mayflower, [I doubt that, but who knows.] , but can't find out
when or the original names.) [Swenkenfelder's are a religious group who came to America
for religious freedom in the 1700's.]
McGILL - Lockport, Lock Haven (PA) origin Ireland (?)
WITCHEY - Bern, Switzerland
REESE - Renovo, PA out of Germany
