Census Information
First Federal Census of Lincoln Township: La Placita del Rio Bonito, meaning a place along the beautiful river, was the first major settlement in Lincoln County. The government recorded the eighth United States Census in 1860. La Placita del Rio Bonito was part of Socorro County at that time. In 1869 when Lincoln County was founded, the settlement became the town of Lincoln.
