Reed: Clifton L. Reed, 83, of Silver City died Tuesday in the Gila Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Reed was born in Texas on Sept. l5, l903, and spent the greater part of his life in Silver City. He was an employee of the Silver City Daily Press for many years. Mr. Reed was a life member of Elks Lodge No. 413 and was also a life member of Masonic Lodge No. 8, both of Silver City. He was honored by the Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce this April and received a plaque citing his continuing support of the chamber, civic, and charitable projects. Mr. Reed is survived by a brother, William S. Reed of Justin, Texas; a niece, Jo Ann Kemp of Justin; another niece, Grace Marie Jamison of Fort Worth, Texas; a nephew, Bob McClane of Austin, Texas; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside Services were conducted Friday at l0 a.m. in the Masonic Cemetery in Silver City. Officiating were Elks Lodge No. 413 and Masonic Lodge No. 8. Curtis-Bright Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

REED: James A. Reed, 62, a retired employee of the State Highway Department and resident of Cliff for many years, died last Thursday at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Fort Bayard, following a long illness. He was a World War I veteran. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nettie A. Reed; a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Miller, Alamogordo; four sons, Lloyd, Lordsburg; Milton, Cliff; Melvin, Silver City and Clyde, Fort Bliss. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Fort Bayard chapel, conducted by the Rev. B. B. Harding of the Silver City Church of Christ. Burial took place in the Mule Creek cemetery, with full military honors at the grave.

REED: Jimmy Don Reed, 11, of Glenwood entered eternal rest Saturday at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1978, in Silver City and had been a resident of Glenwood the last nine years. He was a sixth-grade student at Glenwood Elementary School. Calling hours were to be held today from 4-7 p.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral chapels. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday morning at 9 with the Rev. David F. Goble officiating. The funeral procession will depart the mortuary at the conclusion of the service, proceeding to the Glenwood Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot following graveside services. Survivors include his parents, Shane and Rita Reed of Glenwood; two brothers, Jo Jo and Mickey Reed of Glenwood; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Janice Reed of Cliff; maternal grandparents, Grant and Barbara Roberts of Glenwood; paternal great-grandmother, Nettie Reed of Riverside; and maternal great-grandmother, Emma Roberts of Silver City. Other survivors include aunts and uncles, Joe and Lori Faust of Alma, Rick and Dana Roberts of Silver City, Eddie and Lean Luera of Pleasanton, and Dave and Lori Nell Berry of Sliver City Serving as casket bearers will be Joe and John Faust, Jay Killough, Jimmy Reed, Dave Berry and Dirk Manning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Glenwood Elementary for playground equipment. She worked in the administration department at Fort Bayard Medical Center and was a member of the Eastern Stars. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Deming with David Goble officiating. She is survived by a Sister, Gladys Scarfe of Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis reed. Entrusted to Baca.

REED: Nettie Alice Reed, 92, of Cliff entered life eternal early Monday morning at Hacienda de Salud Nursing Home in Silver City. She was born March 28, 1899, near Carlsbad, and had been a Grant County resident since 1924. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Cliff. Calling hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 Wednesday morning in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Knapp of Las Cruces; five sisters, Norine Key of Safford, Ariz., Susie George of Duncan, Ariz., Noraetta Williams of Phoenix, Mary Wilhoit of Palmdale, Calif., and Winnie Cain of Mobile, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. REED: Katheryne L. Reed. 76, a resident of Bayard, entered into rest Monday at Gila Regional Medical Center. She was born June 29. 1920 in Carthage, N.M., to Frank and Mary E. Pascoe. Survivors include her husband, James L. Reed of Bayard; a son, Leslie James Reed, and his wife Pattie, of Bay Minett Ala.; two brothers. Walter Pascoe of Arenas Valley and Arthur Morris Pascoe of Italy; a sister, Mary Frances Gomez of Santa Clara; two grandchildren; and Three great-grand-children. Cremation has taken place and at the request of the family, no services are scheduled. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels and Baca's Mimbres Crematorium.

REESE: Funeral services were held Thursday for Emily Leah Wiggelworth Reese who was born near Dublin, GA Aug 17, 1888. As a child she moved with her family to Perry, FL where she grew to womanhood. On July 31, 1914, she was united in marriage with Joseph W Reese of Silver city. To this union were born four children Leah; Carl; Cecil and Ralph. All of who survive her, in addition to her husband and a brother Wesley of Waycross Ga. In 1941 Mr. Reese retired from the grocery business and in January 1945 the family moved to Tucson, AZ. Beloved by all who knew her Mrs. Reese was an active member of the First Methodist church of Silver City. She was an ardent worker with the Woman's society of Christian Service the Mary-Martha Sunday School class and the young people's activities. In Tucson, she continued her church work at the University Methodist church. Funeral services were held at Bring's Funeral home in Tucson conducted by the Rev Maurice Ballanger of the University Methodist church. Internment was in the South Lawn cemetery.

REESE: Joseph Reese, 81, a former pioneer resident of Silver City, where for many years he was a retail grocery owner, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Leah, in Illinois, where he was visiting. Besides the daughter, two sons, Earl Reese, of El Paso, and Cecil Reese, Tucson, survive. Funeral services and burial took place in Tucson, where Mr. Reese had resided since his retirement from business some years ago. He was the owner of extensive property on North Bullard St. in Silver City.

REESE: Paula Lynn Reese, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Reese, passed away last Friday. She is survived by her parents, a sister, Judy and a brother Michael. Private funeral services were held at the Cox Mortuary chapel. The remains were taken to Tucson, Ariz, for cremation.

REESE: Ralph Reese, son of Joe W. Reese, formerly of Silver City, died in Santa Monica, Calif., last Thursday, Sept. 16, and was buried beside his mother in Tucson, Monday. Mr. Reese was born in Silver City Dec. 17, 1926. He had been ill for several years and seriously ill since about the first of the year. His father had been with him in California for several weeks. He is survived by his wife; his father, whose home is 516 E. 18th Street, Tucson ,two brothers, Cecil of Tucson and Earl of El Paso; and a sister, Mrs. Leah King of Bel Air, Md. The family lived here for many years and the children were educated in the Silver City schools. W Reese still has many property interests here and was a frequent visitor.

REESE: Richard Thomas "Rick" Reese, 45, of Mangus Springs passed away from injuries received in an auto accident Thursday, Sept. 23. Memorial services will be conducted at 4 this afternoon in Trinity Presbyterian Church at Cliff. Mr. Reese was a taxidermist, specializing in Southwest wildlife. He was born June 15, 1954, in El Paso, Texas. He was the son of Manuel De La Torre and Patricia Pitts De La Torre. He is survived by two sons, Justin Reese and his wife Scheme, of Elko, Nev., and Clayton Reese of Silver City; one daughter, Jamie Reese, also of Silver City; two grandchildren Gabriel Arbillaga and Zachary Arbiliaga, both of Elko; his mother. Patty Reese of Riverside; two brothers, Jeff Reese and his wife, Debbie, of Silver City, and Wayne Reese of Redrock; and one sister, Melissa Bowen, and her husband, Bruce, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Reese was preceded in death by his fathers, Manuel De La Torre and Shirl Reese. He will always be remembered as understanding and forgiving. , He loved unconditionally and forgave no matter the reason. He was talented at everything he did. He was valedictorian in his high school class and played basketball with amazing skill. Everything always seemed to end up better after he got done with it. He was a beautiful person inside and out. He always loved spending time with his kids. His sons loved going hunting with him. They had so many special times together. Mr. Reese spent extremely important time teaching his best friend and dog, Smokey, to sneeze for vanilla cookies with frosting in the middle. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

REESE: James W. Reese, 75, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Myrna Horan, in Winslow Ariz. He was a pioneer resident of Ariz. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cox Mortuary Chapel, the rites being conducted by the Rev. B. B. Harding of the Silver City Church of Christ. Burial took place in the Silver City cemetery. Surviving are a son, Calvin Reese, Indio, Calif. and seven daughters, Mrs. Sam Raley, who was home on visit from Peru South America, at the time of her father's death; Mrs. Ilene Donohue, Fort Huachuca Ariz; Mrs. Ruth Parker and Mrs. Lucy Cross, Morenci; Mrs. Opal Lookout, Tularosa; Mrs. Myrna Horan, Winslow, and Mrs. Hedy Mae Weines of Clifton, Ariz.

REESE: Shirl Wayne Reese, 74, a lifelong resident of Riverside, died Wednesday at his home. Mr. Reese was born July 18, 1920, in Cliff to Homer V. Reese and Lois V. Dickerson Reese. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Force stationed in England. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1949 with a degree in agriculture and was employed by the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service until his retirement in 1980. He married Patricia Pitts Reese in 1956 and was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gila. Survivors include his wife, Patty Reese of Riverside; three sons, Richard, Jeff and Wayne Reese, all of Riverside; a daughter, Melissa Reese Bowen of Highland, Utah; two brothers, Wesley Reese of Silver City and Elton Reese of Caballo; 16 grandchildren; and all his many close friends. Graveside services will be held Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Cliff-Gila Mesa Cemetery in Gila with Bishop Donald Hooker and Bishop C.C. Sullivan presiding. Pallbearers will be Wayne Dickerson, Chuck Dinwiddie, Gary Dickerson, Julio Polanco, Johnny Burris and Bobby Upton. Honorary bearers will be all his many friends. REEVES: Clyde F. Reeves, 70, died at Hillcrest General Hospital Friday morning. He was a former resident of Grant County and had moved back to Buckhorn from Oklahoma about two weeks ago. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Betrice Reeves; four sons, Clyde J. Reeves of El Paso, J. V. Reeves of. Silver City, Wayne of Lindsay, Okla., and Jim C. of Haines, Alaska; three daughters, Mrs. Lenora Yarborough of Cornwall, N. Y., Mrs. Verily B. Mitchell of Albuquerque, Mrs. Lucy P. Pritchard of Dallas, Tex.; 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lem Reeves of San Antonio, Tex., and Henry Reeves of Alice, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Barnes of Greenbrier, Ark. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Curtis following in the Mesa Cemetery Mortuary Chapel with interment at Gila. The Rev. Jerry Gary of the Bible Baptist church officiated. REID: Dorothy Elmor Reid, 84, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Fort Bayard Medical center. She was born April 11, 1913, to Lloyd and Pearl Emmons in East Lansing. Mich. She married George M. Reid on Dec. 19,1953, in East Lapsing, She retired as a secretary at Michigan State University and was a member of the Quakers Society. She loved to walk in the Gila National Forest on a daily basis and did artwork. Cremation was by Baca's Mimbres Crematorium. The family will hold private services. Survivors include her husband, George M. Reid of Silver city, a daughter, Kathleen Corcoran of Syracuse, N.Y.; a brother, Phil Emmons, and his wife, Lou, of Richland, Ill,; and five grandchildren, Liza Chad and Markey Tominson, and Sarah and Nathan Reid. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Corcoran, in 1980, and her sister, Ann Emmons, in 1982. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

REID; Mary May Reid, 93, long time Deming resident died Tuesday morning at Mimbres Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 9, 1891 in Golaid, TX and moved to Kingston area in 1912 where she was a pioneer rancher in Hillsboro and Kingston area. She was a member of the Georgetown Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 4. Funeral services were held May 17 at the Union Community Church of Hillsboro with Rev. Jack Cain officiating. Interment followed at the Kingston Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Georgetown Order of the Eastern Star No. 4. Mrs. Reid is survived by two daughters, Gertrude Casey of Truth or Consequences and Margery Hale of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Reid McGregor of Oxnard, Ca., Kathleen Bustamante of Albuquerque and Roberta Whitcomb of Hillsboro and one great-grandchild, Armando Bustamante of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Reid in March 1971. Serving as pallbearers were Vernon Cunningham, Roy Schoenradt, Jessie Whitcomb, Embree Hale Jr., Donald Graham and Bill Hall. REID: Robert W. Reid, long time rancher in the Hillsboro area, passed away at Deming on March 24 at the age of 87. He worked for 8 years for the United States Forest Service in the early days of the Gila National Forest. While thus employed he married and his bride accompanied him horseback on most of the trips and jobs throughout the Glenwood, Mogollon and Mogollon Mountain area, where they lived in a tent and his bride cooked in Dutch ovens over an open fire. In 1962, at the celebration of their Golden Wedding Anniversary the decoration that they favored most was the pine trees, teepee tent, Dutch ovens, pack outfit, etc., depicting the early life with the Forest Service. On resigning from the Forest Service the homesteaded on the North Percha Creek in the Black Range and took over the ranching business from his mother. The raised high grade Angora Goats and sold breeding stock throughout the world as will as raising cattle. He retired about five years ago and has spent his time between Deming and Truth or Consequences and until failing health prevented going to the mountains spent considerable time at the old homestead as well as doing some traveling to the mid-west and Northwest. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Deming and T or C, two daughters from out of state and a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, with the Order of Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge officiating. The family suggested a memorial be made up the New Mexico Boys Ranch at Belen in lieu of flowers.

RIEDLINGER: Rosary services for Mrs. Agatha C. Riedlinger were recited in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel Monday at 7:30 p.m. with Mass services being held in St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Fr. A. James Milano officiated. Mrs. Riedlinger is survived by, her son John P. Riedlinger, three grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.

RIERSON: Mrs. Charles L. Rierson, a former resident of Tyrone where she spent many summers at The Pines, passed away the past week at her home in Kilmarnock, Va., after a long illness. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Stanley M. Cox of Kilmarnock, a sister, Mrs. Edith Brand and a brother, Robert P. Thompson of Tyrone. Funeral services and burial took place in Virginia.

REILLY: Paul A. Reilly died of cancer in Key Largo, Fla., on Monday. He was a former resident of Silver City and was active here in the Retired Senior Volunteers Program; the Volunteers in Service to America; started the senior citizen Kitchen Band with Betty Springler, and was active with the Silver City senior citizens, the American Legion, painting, and other activities. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Florida; two daughters, Ronnie Dailin of New York and Patsy Reilly of Dallas, Texas; and a son in Colorado. His wife and daughter Ronnie were with him when he died. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery in New York on Friday with military honors.

REIMERS: Paul Reimers, 68, of Tyrone died Feb. 3 in Lincoln County, Nev. He is survived by two daughters, Paula of Long Beach Calif. and Georgina of Encinitas CA; and two brothers, of Buffalo NY. He held a bachelors degree from Harvard University; was a World War II veteran; and had a long and distinguished career with the federal government. He retired from the Library of Congress and was on the faculty of Benjamin Franklin University prior to moving to the Silver City area. He was very active in the community and was an ardent environmentalist. He was associated with Western New Mexico University, a member of the American Legion, the Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce and the Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Society. He was also a board member of the Community concert Association, a patron of the Silver city Artists council and president of the Southwest New Mexico Audubon Society. In the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd he was a lay reader and chalice bearer. Following cremation in Nevada his ashes will be interred in the family plot in Washington, D.C., with his wife Betsy and son Mark, who preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Memorial Contributions may he made to the Episcopal Church or the Southwest New Mexico Audubon Society.

REIN: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Hein and Mrs. C. W. Anderson left Tuesday for Menomonee, Wis., to attend the funeral of Mrs. Anderson's and Hein's mother, Mrs. Edward Rein, 94, who died Monday. The deceased is well known in Silver City, having lived here for several years with her son, Wilbert. She has another son, A. E Hein of Arenas Valley; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral services were held Friday at the Goodrich Funeral home in Menomonee.

REMIJO: Tony Remijo, former resident of Grant County, was killed in a mine accident at Lone Pine, Calif. on Monday, relatives here were advised. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Consuela Remijo, and two daughters, Mrs. Alex Madrid and Rosie Remijo, Silver City; three sisters and three brothers of Los Angeles, The wife and daughters left Tuesday for California to accompany the body to Silver City for funeral services. Burial will be in the Pinos Altos cemetery. Cox Mortuary is in charge of arrangement.

RENDLEMAN: Mrs. Augusta M. Rendleman, 80, a native of Decatur, Ill., and a 35-year resident of Silver City, died Saturday at Hillcrest General Hospital. Mrs. Rendleman is survived by her husband, Benjamin L. Rendleman of Silver City; two stepsons, C.R. Rendleman of Silver City and James Carver of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Campbell of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Flora Bartlett of Coffeen, Ill., and Mrs. Lula Bell Mitchell of Decatur. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the chapel of the Curtis Mortuary with the LDS Church in charge. Burial was in Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marion Portwood, Dave Farnsworth, C.R.Rendleman, Wesley Shupe, Joe Ray Howell and Fred McCormick.

RENDLEMAN: Velma Farnsworth Rendleman, 61, died Tuesday, October 31, at her residence in Silver City. Mrs. Rendleman was a longtime resident of Grant County. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was active in Primary and the Relief Society for many years. She is survived by her husband, Clarence R. Rendleman of Silver City, two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Kuester and Mrs. Ronnie Jones, both of Silver City, a son, Donald B. Rendleman and five grandchildren. Survivors also include four sisters, Mrs. Lenna Farnsworth of Nogales, Ariz., Mrs. Roein Beechoft of Douglas, Ariz., Mrs. Ethel McRae of Snowflake, Ariz., Mrs. Mary Eda Shupe of Silver City, four brothers, Steven A. Farnsworth of Bagdad, Ariz., Brig Farnsworth of Higley, Ariz., Joseph Farnsworth of Serita, Ariz. and Thomas Farnsworth of Pomerene, Ariz. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Fri., Nov. 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silver City with Bishop Wayne R. Decker officiating. Burial followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Steven A., B.A., Joseph, Tom, and E.D. Farnsworth and Steve Jones. Curtis-Bright Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

RENDON: Danny Rendon, 18, Lordsburg was killed early Sunday morning about 13 miles south of Silver City on Highway 180, when the car he was driving went out of control and rolled several times. Injured in the accident were Margo Estrado, Jr., 16; Richard Perea, 19; Villasiner Jabier, 20; and Rosa Benjarna, 33 all of Lordsburg. The Cox Mortuary sent ambulances to the scene and brought the dead youth to the mortuary and took the injured to Hillcrest General Hospital. None of the injured was seriously hurt. The fatality, 10th in Grant County this year, was attributed to excessive speed by State Patrolman Joe Rutledge and Chief Deputy Sheriff Lawrence Shelly, who investigated the accident. Funeral services for Rendon took place Tuesday at Lordsburg in the Catholic Church, with burial in the cemetery at Shakespeare.

RENDON: Monico Rendon, 82, of Lordsburg passed away Monday, at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He went to Lordsburg in 1933 from Arizona. He married Seferina Cervantes on Feb. 14, 1933, in Lordsburg. Mr. Rendon was preceded in death by a son, Danny Rendon; his parents, Monico and Severa Rendon; four sisters, Maria, Rosa, Sheila and Cuca; a brother, Tacho; two great-grandchildren, Yvette and Mariah; his in-laws, Jilan and Juliana Cervantes; and a daughter-in-law, Norma Rendon. Mr. Rendon is survived by two sons, Elias Rendon, and Manny Rendon and his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Helen Chaires and her husband, Frank, Delores Flores and her husband, Cesar, and Ida Reyes and her husband, Ramon; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rendon was an avid reader of Western books. He liked to tell jokes and loved television. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. RENFRO: Clayton Eugene Renfro, 60, a resident of Truth or Consequences and a former resident of Silver City from 1950-80, died Friday in Truth or Consequences. RENTERIA: Maria V. Renteria, 87, a Deming resident, passed away Wednesday. June 10, at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home. RENTERIA: Alex Renteria, a lifetime resident of Grant County, died last Thursday, August 31, at Hillcrest General Hospital. The deceased was born in Central, April 24, 1905, and attended grade school there. He went to work as a young man as a clerk in the R.L. Trujillo Store, Central, which at that time was a major retail outlet in the mining area. Later he clerked in the Santa Rita Store at Santa Rita, a company store owned by the Chino Copper Company. Mr. Renteria spent a short time in Indio, California, with the Yellow Front store. For the past seven years he had resided at the Monterrey Hotel, now known as the New Palace Hotel. Mr. Renteria had been for many years an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. The deceased is survived by his step-father, Panfilo Holguin, Central; two sisters, Mrs. Felicita Chavez, Las Cruces, Mrs. Adelina Duran, Central; and five brothers, Ramon Holguin and Albert Holguin, Central, Pete Holguin and Edward Holguin, Silver City, and Arthur Holguin, Las Cruces. Rosary services were at 7:30 p.m., September 4 in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 9 a.m., September 5, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Reverend Father James Milano conducting both services. Burial followed in the Central Cemetery. He was a student at Silver High School who loved football and outdoor sports. He survived by his parents, both of Silver City; his brothers, Paul Sias and his wife, Cindy, of Mimbres, Raymond Sigurdsson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joshua Renteria of Silver City; and his sisters, Irma Jean Sias of Silver City, Margaret Valdez of Tularosa, and Bernadette and Theresa Renteria, both of Silver City. RENWICK: Williams James Renwick 77,a former miner who had been a resident of this area for the past 29 years, died Saturday. He had no known relatives. Funeral services were he1d at 10:30 Monday morning at the Cox Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Thomas Ogilvie of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial followed in the Silver City cemetery.

RENZ: Graveside services will be held this morning at Memory Lane Cemetery for Otto (Dutch) Renz, 79, who died early Monday morning when fire destroyed his small home on Grant Street. Rev. C. M. Henderson will officiate at the service. Pallbearers will be W. H. Brewer, Henry Eaton, Charles Russell, Carl Mrotzek, Vicente Traviso and William Parker. Curtis Mortuary was in charge of the service. Mr. Renz is survived by a niece and nephew, both of San Francisco, Calif.

RENZ: Albert S. Renz, 72, life-long resident of Silver City, died Sunday in Hillcrest General Hospital. He retired some years ago after being employed for many years by the Santa Fe Railway at its Silver City terminal. Surviving are a brother, Otto Renz and a nephew, William Renz, Los Angeles. Funeral services were set for 10:30 a.m. today at the Cox Mortuary chapel. Burial will take place in the Silver City cemetery.

RESKO: Andrew T. "Andy" Resko, 76, died Sunday Feb. 21, 1982, in Silver City. Mr. Resko had resided in Silver City for the past three years and has been an engineer for U.S. Steel for forty years before retiring in 1962. He was a communicant of St. Francis Newman Center Parrish. Survivors include his wife, Anne Resko of Silver City; one daughter, Elvira Hommel of Las Cruces; two sons, Andrew J. Resko of Prattsburg, N.Y. and James A. Resko of New Orleans, one sister, Elizabeth Seech of Homestead, La., six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Rosary recitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the Curtis-Bright Chapel and Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Newman Center Parrish. Rev. RESLEY: Eugenia Ann Resley, 16, daughter of Mr., and Mrs. Walter Resley, of Rincon was killed Sunday night 13 miles north of Las Cruces, when the car she was driving went out of control when a tire blew out and rolled over, investigating officers reported. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Las Cruces at the Graham Mortuary chapel, followed by burial in the Masonic cemetery. The Resley family formerly resided at Cliff. Besides her parents, survivors are a sister, Patricia and grandparents.

RETANA: Juanita Marquez Retana died October 22 in a plane crash in Arizona. Born June 24, 1931 in Silver City. She was a graduate of the local high school. Survivors include her husband Ramon; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Ford of Alexandria, VA, Vickie, Maria and Aida Retana all of Deming; two sons, Ramon Jr. of Victorville, CA., and Nickey of Deming; her mother, Maria Jacquez of Lanudale, CA., two brothers and two sisters.

trEVARROW: Mrs. Minnie F. Trevarrow, 65, succumbed early yesterday morning at her, home here. She had been a resident of Grant County for the past 23 years. Survivors include one son, Robert L. Trevarrow, a daughter, Mrs. Ed E. Ault, Jr., one granddaughter and a sister Mrs. Ora Philpott. Funeral services will be held to morrow afternoon at 3 p.m. at Cox Mortuary chapel. Kenneth Marrs will officiate. The deceased was active in Grant County teaching circles and had retired from her position in 1952. Internment will be held in the Pinos altos cemetery.

REYES: Antonio Reyes, 68, a resident of Arenas Valley for the past two years, died Saturday in Hillcrest Hospital. He was a minister of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors are his widow, Maria, Arenas Valley; a son, Armando Reyes of Alamogordo nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a brother Louis Reyes of Durango, Mexico. Funeral services were held Monday in the Curtis Mortuary Chapel, the Rev. T. J. Lemons officiating. Interment was in the church's burial plot adjacent to the Catholic Cemetery.

REYES: Adela Abeyta Reyes passed away Nov. 11 in Tucson, Ariz., after a long illness. She was 71. Mrs. Reyes had been a resident of Silver City many years before moving. Survivors include her husband, two sons, two daughters, grandchildren and a brother, Eusebio L. Abeyta Sr. of Silver City. She was preceded in death by a son, Augustine Abeyta Granado, and a grandson, Billy Abeyta Granado, in 1979. Services were held Monday in Tucson.

REYES: Amador Z. Reyes, 59, died at his residence in Hurley April4 following and extended illness. Mr. Reyes was a native of Columbus, and had lived in Hurley for the past 33 years. He retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation last year as a crusher operator. REYNOLDS: Mrs. Ruth 0. Reynolds widow of the late T. J. Reynolds, who preceded her in death in 1955, died Monday at Rest Haven Nursing Home. Mrs. Reynolds was a resident of Grant County, and a graduate, of A & M College at Las Cruces, also a retired Mimbres schoolteacher. She had been a clerk at the Post Office In Silver City for a number of years, retiring in 1952. Survivors of the deceased are two sisters, Miss Mary C. Oliver of Silver City and Mrs. Harry Rimpson of Ft. Collins, Colo. And a number of nieces and nephews, including Mrs. James Turner of Sliver City and Mrs. Elizabeth Rigbee of Carlsbad. Former Silver City resident, Rev. Paul Bobb of the Presbyterian church of Las Cruces will conduct the services it 10:30 Saturday morning at Curtis Mortuary. Burial will be In Memory Lane cemetery in Silver City.

REYNOLDS: Funeral services for the late Robert F. Reynolds, who died Sunday night at the Santa Rita Hospital, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Cox Mortuary Chapel. The Elks Lodge will have charge of the services and interment will be made In the Silver City Cemetery. Mr. Reynolds, 56 years of age at the time of death, had been a resident of Santa Rita for the past 18 years and was employed by the Kennecott Copper Corp. Mrs. Reynolds survives.

REYNOLDS: Sharon B. Reynolds, 61, a resident of Mimbres, passed away Monday, July 12, at her home. She was born Aug. 2S, 1937, in Walters, Okla., to Bernice Black and Bessie Stewart Black. She and Ronald Arvin Reynolds were married in March 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The couple had two daughters and one son. Visitation was held from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Bright Funeral Home. Funeral services were to be held at 10 this morning at Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Trafton officiating. Interment was at Memory Lane Cemetery following the chapel services. Sharon Reynolds, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, friend and neighbor, was deeply beloved by all who were privileged to know her. She loved each one in her own special way. While her greatest accomplishment could be her Christian life, a close second was her family relationships. Other significant pursuits included the hospitality chairmanship at her church. She was Sunday school treasurer, and a dance and aerobics instructor. She worked 15 years for a large insurance firm. She also majored in psychology in college, and was office manager and bookkeeper for the family propane business. The love of those who knew her goes with her. They deeply mourn her, but know she is with the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ron Reynolds of Mimbres; their three children, Sherri Parsons, Carol Jean Reynolds and David R. Reynolds, all of Mimbres; her mother, Bessie Black of Conroe, Texas; three sisters, Nellie Southern and her husband, Willis, of Jonesboro, Ga., Colleen Dilsworth and her husband, Stephen, of New Caney, Texas, and Fonda Lloyd and her husband, Edward, of Houston, Texas; one brother, Macke Gene Black, and his wife, Susan, of Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Michael Huskin of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry Keller of Inglewood, Vanessa Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., Melissa Keller of Mesa, Ariz., Sharon E. Mrs. Reynolds was born March 2, 1930 in Lordsburg to David Franklin Williams and Thelma Audrey Owens Williams. She married Robert T. Reynolds on Dec. 16, 1949. She was involved in the ranching industry all of her life. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert T. Reynolds of the home; her children, Darr Shannon and her husband, Pecos, and Roberta Gambill and her husband, Darren, of Lordsburg; a sister, Jeanette Spence of Burlingame, Calif.; a granddaughter, Sicily B. REYNOLDS: Henri Wynell ”Nell” Reynolds, 71, a longtime resident of Silver City, died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces following a brief illness. Mrs. Reynolds was born June 3, 1925, in Homer, La., to Henry and Grace Horton. Survivors include her husband, John W. Reynolds; a daughter Cherie Kiehne, and her husband, Max, of Los Lunas; two sons, John H. Reynolds of Las Cruces, and James Reynolds and his wife, Tricia, of Silver City; and six grandchildren, Emil, Shawn and Kristin Kichne, and Nathan, Nicole and Lucas John Reynolds. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Homer and burial will follow at the Homer Cemetery.

RHEA: James A. Rhea, 80, a retired employee of Kennecott Copper Corp., died of an apparent heart attack while out walking early last Saturday evening near his home at Hanover. He was a well-known resident of Grant County where he had lived for many years. Survivors of the deceased include his daughters, Mrs. Laura Whittemore, who was here from Springerville, Ariz., with her sister, Mrs. Esther Smith in Silver City, and two other daughters, Mrs. Jean Bush of Santa Rita and Mrs. Ruth McPherson of Los Angeles; also a son, James, Jr., of Anchorage, Alaska. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Curtis Mortuary chapel, the Rev. Clifton M. Henderson of the Episcopal Church, conducting the rites. Burial was in Memory Lane Cemetery.

RHEA: James A. Rhea, 51, passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 16, at his residence in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Rhea was a native of Ft. Bayard, and had resided in Anchorage for the past 16 years. He was employed as a surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management at the time of his death. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Janet K. Rhea of Hanover, four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Menard of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. Esther Smith of Silver City, Mrs. Jean Bush of Bayard and Mrs. Laura Whittemore of Springerville, Ariz. and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Monday, February 21, at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with Chaplain David Strain and the Allingham-Golding Post #18 of the American Legion conducting the services. Serving as pallbearers were Clyde Bush, Garry Bush, Byron Smith, Kirk Whittemore, Mike Arciero and John Lang. Honorary pallbearers were Mel Ylarrez, Bill Rockwell, Merlin Rogers, Fisher Longwell and Arvil Thomas.

RHEA: Janet K. Rhea passed away at Hillcrest Hospital Thursday, March 24, following a brief illness. Mrs. Rhea was a native of Mahaska County, Iowa, and had lived in Grant County for the past 57 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Rhea, in 1964. Mrs. Rhea is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Menard of Fullerton, Ca., Mrs. Esther Smith of Silver City, Mrs. Jean Bush of Bayard and Mrs. Laura Whittemore of Springerville, AZ, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday March 26, at Memory Lane Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Bjork of the Valley Community Church conducting the services.

RHINESMITH: Mrs. Bonnie E. Rhinesmith, 65, died at her residence November 8. Mrs. Rhinesmith was a native of Amarillo, TX and had lived in Silver City for the past 20 years. Her husband, John H. Rhinesmith preceded her in death in August of 1972. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bill Collins of Alamogordo, Mrs. Burch Drake of Apple Valley CA., and Mrs. Ted Lynn of Eglin Air Force Base FL., ten grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Polly Thomas of Silver City; five brothers, George Feese of Woodward, OK., Wyley Feese of Pampa, TX, Dwight Feese of Bartlesville, OK., James Feese of Hobart, OK., and Clyde Feese of San Antonio, TX.

RHOADES: Inez B. Rhoades, 91, of Las Cruces died Saturday at University Terrace Good Samaritan. She was born Feb. 9, 1905, in Lamont, Iowa. She was the daughter of Nellie Holland Rhoades and Marion Francis Rhoades, and the twin sister of Ingvert Rhoades. Miss Rhoades graduated from high school in Horton, Kan., in 1924. After graduation, her family moved to Huron, S.D., where her father opened a music store, and she attended and graduated from Huron College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She received her master's degree in speech and English from the University of Denver in Denver, Colo. Miss Rhoades taught speech and English for 42 years as well as coached girls basketball. Her teaching positions were in South Dakota; Logan, Utah; Greeley, Colo.; Seattle, Wash.; and Tucson, Ariz. Miss Rhoades will be fondly remembered for her 25 years of teaching at Western New Mexico University in Silver City. She was an active member of PEO Chapter I in Las Cruces and PEO Chapter AG in Silver City. She was also a member of Eastern Star in South Dakota, and a life member of the New Mexico Retired Teachers Assn. and the American Speech and Hearing Association. Miss Rhoades is survived by several nieces and nephews, and her good friend, Hazel Sechier of her home at University Terrace Good Samaritan. At her request, cremation has taken place and her cremains will be taken to the Gwyn Memorial Rose Garden of Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City. No services are planned at this time. Donations may be made to a favorite charity in her memory. Arrangements are by Getz Funeral Home of Las Cruces.

RHODES: A. R. Rhodes, 75, died Friday in Las Cruces. Mr. Rhodes was born in Winfield, Kan and was a Grant county resident since 1937. He has been the owner and operator of Rhodes Music Co and of the Dix Club was a member of the Silver city Elks Lodge No. 413. Mr. Rhodes is survived by one brother, Jim Rhodes of Alamogordo; two nephews, John B Rhodes of Albuquerque and Richard M Rhodes of Las Cruces; two nieces, Betty Butler of Utah and Francis Ann Woyowich of the U S Army in Germany. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday in Memory Lane cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Rogers, Wayne Reed, George Ewan, Ray Templer, Alfred Morales, and Tilmond Smith. RHODES: Graveside services for Paul K. “Kenny" Rhodes, 66, longtime Deming resident, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View cemetery. Rhodes died Friday. RHODES: George Colton Rhodes, 50, a 22-year resident of Silver City, entered into rest Monday at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 29, 1944 to Leslie Samuel and Margie May Rhodes. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1961. He and Deanna, his wife of 32 years, attended school together since the fourth grade in Duncan, Ariz., and on Feb. 10, 1962, they were joined in marriage. Mr. Rhodes was employed by Phelps Dodge Corp. for 32 years. He worked in Morenci, Ariz. in 1962 as a laborer in the mill. He served an apprenticeship as a machinist. In 1972 he transferred to Tyrone as a machinist and held numerous positions during his career with Phelps Dodge. At the time of his death he held the position of planner. Mr. Rhodes was active in the community. He served as board member and president of the Silver City Little League and coached a girls softball team for many years. He also served on the Silver City Parks and Recreation Board. He enjoyed horse racing, landscaping, Star Trek, buying and selling houses, playing with his computer, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren and children. On the Sunday before his death, he went on a hot air balloon ride with his oldest grandchild, Chad, in Las Cruces. They rode above the earth, they smiled and laughed and floated high. He will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Deanna, of the home; a daughter, Kim Peralta, and her husband, Sam of Las Cruces; a son, Colton, of Silver City; his father, Leslie Rhodes of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Chad, Kyle, Amanda, Lourin, Vincent and Kaitlin; two brothers, Lawery Rhodes and his wife, Vicki, of Safford, Ariz. and John Rhodes and his wife, Jo Ann, of Duncan; and three sisters, Jan Billingsly of Safford, Karen Umphries and her husband, Mitchell, of Reserve and Sherrill Ross and her husband, Tom, of Mesa. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Baca's Funeral Chapels with David Strain officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Duncan Cemetery. RHODIN: Howard H. Rhodin, 59, a longtime resident of Silver City since World War II, died Feb. 9 in Abilene, Texas. Services were held there Feb. 11 at Episcopal Church of Heavenly Rest. While living in Silver City, he worked at the Silver City enterprise and the Parrish Stage Lines. He later was employed at the Hurley warehouse of Kennecott Copper and was purchasing agent for Auburn Rubber Company in Deming. He was a member of Church of Good Shepherd in Silver City, where he served as Parrish Treasurer, and as a member of the Vestry. He had been special projects manager for United States Brass corporation in Abilene for the past 12 years. He is survived by his wife Barbara Warren Rhodin of Abilene; two daughters, Laura of the home and Lisa Vandyke of Plains, Kan; a brother, Dr. Thor N. Rhodin in Ithaca, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Margaret McNamara of Staten Island, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

RHOTON: Michael Eugene Rhoton, 33, a resident of Silver City, passed away early Monday morning in the Gila Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tucumcari on Jan. 19, 1957. He graduated from Deming High School in 1975 and completed an associate degree in general construction-carpentry from Utah Technical College at Provo, Utah, in June 1977. He moved to Silver City in the fall of 1980 and had been employed by Havens Construction Co. for the past 10 years. He is survived by his mother, Paula B. Rhoton, a brother, Robert, and a nephew, Andrew Rhoton, all of Amarillo, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Faye G. Snoeberger of Silver City; three aunts, Juanita Carden and her husband, Ray, of Guyman, Okla., Carol Jefferson and her husband, Raymond, of Amarillo, and Marilyn Goats of Silver City; one uncle, William L. Snoeberger and his wife, Margaret, of Albuquerque; and 10 cousins. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. in Memory Lane Cemetery with Minister Ken Havens officiating. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cancer Society. Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.

RIBICH: Leone Ruth Ribich, 90, a Lordsburg resident, died Monday at her home. A memorial service will be held Thursday at two in the afternoon at the First United Methodist Church in Lordsburg with the Rev. David Bonnell officiating. She was born Aug. 6, 1904 in Monfort, Wis. to William Schuster and Lydia Marie Trankle Schuster. She was a high school math teacher and had been a winter resident of Lordsburg for the last 25 years until last year when she moved there permanently. She was the mother of Lois R. Saucedo and her husband, Manuel D.V. Saucedo of Lordsburg, William Ribich of Lexington, Mass. and Lewis Ribich of Minneapolis, Minn. She is also survived by a niece, Colleen Cholich of Hibbing, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lordsburg. Arrangements were handled by Baca's Funeral Chapels of Deming and Dougherty Funeral Home.

RICE: Carl S. Rice, 77, died Tuesday at his home in Cliff. He was born Oct. 13, 1908 at the family home in Cliff, to a pioneer family, Lee and Mary Belle Shelley Rice. He was an active farmer and rancher all his life and served as a Grant County sheriff's deputy for many years. He was a county commissioner from 1935 to 1938; was a member of the Silver City Elks Lodge No. 0413; the Tyrone Masonic Lodge No. 52; the Grant County Sheriff's Posse; was an original organizer for the Cliff-Gila-Grant County Fair and was active in Cliff School athletic affairs. He is survived by his wife, Leona Moss Rice of Cliff; a daughter, Joan Wilmeth and her husband, Pete, of Silver City; a son, Bill Rice and his wife, Judy, of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Susan Souders and her husband, Charles, of Silver City; Stephen Wilmeth and his wife, Kathy, of Bakersfield, Calif., Paul Wilmeth and his wife, Jody, of Silver City, Bryan Rice of Reston, Va., and Kevin Rice and his wife, Lisa, of Chantilly, Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Sean, Kristen and Amy Souders, Stephanie and Lindsay Wilmeth, and Joshua and Jennifer Wilmeth; a sister, Ethel Rice Hooker of Gila; and a brother, Rolland (Blue) Rice of Cliff. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee, and mother Mary Belle Shelley Rice, and a brother, Fayette Rice. Visitation will be held in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home tonight from 7-9. RICE: Lee Rice, 83, “one of Grant County’s oldest and most respected pioneers, ranchers and cattlemen”, died Monday at the family home on the Gila River after a lingering illness. He suffered a stroke of paralysis several months ago. Born Feb. 28, 1863, at Springfield, Ill., Mr. Rice went to Texas as a youth in 1880 and engaged in ranching. In 1888 he accompanied a herd of cattle, which were driven to New Mexico and in 1897 took up his home on the Gila River, where he lived until his death. In 1898, Mr. Rice married Miss May B. Shelley, who survives, together with a daughter, Mrs. Joe Hooker; three sons1 Fayette, Rolland and Carl, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Rice had a leading part in the development of farming and livestock raising in Grant County and was a staunch friend and good neighbor, whose passing is mourned throughout the community in which he resided for almost 50 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 4 p. m. at the Rice family home at Cliff, conducted by the Rev. Rhea Kuykéndall, with interment in the Gila cemetery, directed by the Cox Mortuary. Casket bearers were his three sons, his son-in-law, Joel Hooker and two grandsons, Joe R. Hooker and Lee. H. Rice. Friends and neighbors attended the rites to pay a last tribute to the deceased.

RICE: Mary Loretta Rice. 37, of Pinos Altos died Sun- day, June 27, at Gila Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 10, 1962, in Breckenridge, Minn., and had been a Grant County res- ident for the past 10 years. Mrs. Rice was a waitress at the Buckhorn Saloon and Opera House, and also served as a radio dispatcher for the Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire Department. She was a member of the Silver City Farmer's Market and loved all forms of gardening as well as working on her crafts. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Holy Cross Mission in Pinos Altos with Father Dan Porter officiating. Cremation by Baca's Mimbres Crematorium has taken place. She is survived by her husband, Kyle Rice, and a son, Jesse Rice, both of the home; her father, Pat Doran, and his wife, Cathy, of Albuquerque; her mother, Donna Doran of Breckenridge; two brothers, Thomas Doran and his wife, Debra, of Houston, and Michael Doran of Kalispell, Mont.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Cathy Rice of Phoenix; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Honorary bearers are Thomas and Mike Doran, Michael Beebe, Hans Heynekamp, John and Jeff Campbell, Bruce Fahrlander and Mike James. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

RICE: Mrs. Donna Rice, 79, a former 46-year resident of Hurley and Bayard, died Saturday In Phoenix, Ariz. For the past five years, Mrs. Rice had made her home with her son, Max Rice, in Phoenix, Ariz., until entering a rest home there about two weeks ago. She was a native of Oklahoma. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Polomski of Bayard and Mrs. Hazel Mracek of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Interment was made at Phoenix.

RICE: One of Grant County's venerable pioneers. Mrs. Mary Belle Rice 78, died last Thursday in the family home on the Upper Gila near Cliff. She was the widow of the late Lee Rice. Born in Bell County, Texas, May 8, 1877, she came at the age of 7, with her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Peter M. Shelley, to New Mexico. The family settled on the 916 Ranch on Mogollon Creek, a landmark in Southwest New Mexico. She attended the rural schools and graduated from the New Mexico Territorial Normal School in Silver City with the class of 1897. She married Lee Rice Feb. 23, 1890. Her husband died in 1946. Surviving are three sons, Fayette Rice, Rowland Rice and Carl Rice, Cliff: a daughter, Mrs. Joe Hooker, Gila; a brother. Thomas Shelley, Silver City: 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Gila Mesa cemetery, the Rev. Harold E. Johnson conducting the committal rites. Cox Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Active casket bearers were Joe Hooker, Lee Rice, Frank Rice, Billy Rice and Sam Reed. Mary Belle Rice was revered and loved by a host of relatives and friends for her sympathetic nature.

RICE: Christopher James Rice, 19, of Salem, Ore., died Monday, June 19, in a drowning accident on a farm in Salem. He was born Jan. 15, 1970, in Salem. He was a graduate of McKay High School of Salem and was the 1988 Valley League district wrestling champion at 130 pounds and was preparing to enter college on a wrestling scholarship. He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Connie (Perrault) Rice, and his sisters, Jennifer and Charlene Rice, all from Salem; his grandmother, Esther Perrault of Silver City; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services were held at Rest Lawn Memory Garden in Salem.

RICE: F.E. Rice, 80, passed away Monday, February 13, at St. Anne's Hospital in Truth or Consequences. Mr. Rice had resided in Truth or Consequences for the past 4 years, and was a 40 year resident of Silver City prior to that time. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara Rice of Truth or Consequences, a foster-daughter, Eloyse Hinds of El Paso and a sister, Roxanne Schilling of Chula Vista, Calif. Burial was private.

RICE: Fayette L. Rice, 65, prominent pioneer rancher of the Upper Gila Area, and life-long resident of Grant County, died Monday at Hillcrest Hospital, after a long illness, He was a member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Assn. and well known in the live-stock industry. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Linnie B. Rice; five daughters, Mrs. Stella DeLacy of Stockton, Calif., Mrs. June Garber of La Mesa, Calif., Mrs. Martha Strawther of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Alice Porter of Redwood City, Calif., and Miss Ethel Marie Rice of Gila; two sons, Lee H. Rice of Oracle, Ariz., and Frank L. Rice of Albuquerque; 28 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Carl S. Rice and Roland S. Rice of Cliff; and one sister, Mrs. Joe Hooker of Gila. Funeral services were set for Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gila Mesa cemetery. Conducting the burial rites were the Rev. Harold E. Johnson and the Rev. Ralph Hensley. Interment was under direction of the Curtis Mortuary.

RICE: Hazel Nell Rice, 81, resident of 1309 Las Cruces St died Sunday morning at Mimbres Memorial Hospital. She was born January 17, 1903 in Camden, Tenn. In 1978 she moved to Deming and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Baca's Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Ronald Chastine, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. The remains were sent to Camden, Tenn. for concluding services and interment there. Survivors include her husband, Otis H. Rice of the home; a daughter, Alma Feil; four grandchildren, Paul Feil, M.D., Las Cruces, Nancy Pool, Albuquerque; Anita Feil, Albuquerque; and Captain David Feil, Belgium; three great-grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Pool, Albuquerque and Magdalena Feil of Las Cruces. Arrangements were by Baca's Wheeler Mortuary.

RICE: John Mason Rice, 52, who had resided here the past 13 years, died in a local hospital Saturday, from a bullet wound in his head. He was found lying on the ground outside his home on East Yankee St. with a .45 caliber pistol clutched in his right hand. The death of Rice was Silver City's only holiday tragedy. He had been in ill health and despondent, friends said. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Cox Mortuary, awaiting word from relatives in Kentucky.

RICE: Linnie B. Rice, 82, died Friday at her home in Gila. She was born the daughter of Thomas M. and Louetta S. Bookout, March 15, 1900 in Washita County, Okla. She moved with her family to Tularosa, N.M. about 1914. She married Alonzo Lonnie Buck in 1919. They came to Silver City in the early 1920's, where they owned and operated Buck's Woodyard until 1949. Mr. Buck died in 1957. Linnie remained a resident of Silver City until she married Fayette Rice in 1961 and moved to Gila. Mr. Rice died in 1965. Linnie was also preceded in death by her son, Robert O. Buck, who died in 1948. Mrs. Rice is survived by one daughter, Mernice Elvin (Babe) Thorn of Gila; two grandchildren, Barbara Jo Key of Cliff and Lloyd Taylor of Silver City; two sisters, Rennie Hamilton of Carlsbad and Mildred Pierce of Morarity; two brothers, Ernest Bookout and Orval Bookout, both of Tularosa, one great grandson, Tommy Key of Cliff; several step-children and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 at the Curtis Bright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C.M. Henderson officiating. Interment followed in Memory Lane. RICE: Richard B. Rice, 83, of Lordsburg entered life eternal Tuesday afternoon at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City. He was born March 24, 1908, in Elkhart, Ind., and was a Lordsburg resident for the past 47 years. He was formerly the publisher of the Lordsburg Liberal newspaper, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lordsburg, a former member of the Lordsburg Lions Club, and a member of the Knights of Pythias. He was a past president of the New Mexico Press Association, and was a former chairman and member of the Hidalgo County Commission. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 in the First United Methodist Church in Lordsburg with the Rev. Ron Brewer officiating. Concluding services will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Rice of Lordsburg; a son, William A. Rice, and his wife Patsy, of Las Cruces; a brother, Phillip Rice of Glendale, Ariz.; two grandsons, Rex Rice of St. Louis, Mo., and William Rice of Albuquerque; and a granddaughter, Kate Lawrence of Las Cruces. RICE: Rolland S. "Blue" Rice, 85, of Cliff died Friday afternoon in Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 24, 1904, in Cliff and had been a rancher on the Sacaton for 67 years. Calling hours will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Gila-Mesa Cemetery with the Rev. David Goble officiating. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Rice of Cliff; a son, Rolland Rice and his wife, Lenora, of Cliff; a daughter, Betty Reed and her husband, Sam, of Silver City; a sister Ethel Hooker of Gila; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. RICE: Merton E. Rice, 80, passed away Friday at Gila Regional Medical Center. He had resided in Silver City for the past 15 years. Mr. Rice worked for Osage Oil Co. for many years. He is survived by his son, Dale Nash of Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Cleo M. Brown of Riverside, Calif., and Muriel A. Chappory of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at noon at the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. RICHARDS: Essie Clara Richard, 90, of Glenwood, passed away Tuesday at Hacienda de Salud in Silver City. She was born July 20,1903, in Shawnee, Okla., to Theodore Edward and Leona J. (Alkire) Harrison. She married Cullen Richards in 1945 in Silver City. Mrs. Richards was a member of the First Baptist Church in Silver City and enjoyed sewing and needlework. Mrs. Richards is survived by a brother, Victor Harrison, and his wife, Janet, of Silver City, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona J. Harrison, in 1933; her father, Theodore E. Harrison, in 1949; a sister, Bernice Sanders, in 1966; and a brother, Charles Aubrey Harrison, in 1985. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Liles officiating. Pallbearers will be Howard Hutchinson, Kenneth Shellhorn, Vernon Hollimon, Vern Crosley, Hugh B. McKeen and Harold Keith. Arrangements are by Curtis- Bright Funeral Home of Silver City.

RICHARDS: Joseph Cullen, 85 of Glenwood, died Sunday in Hacienda de Salud in Silver City. Mr. Richards was born in Elwood, Texas, on Feb. 28, 1902 and moved to Lubbock, Texas at the age of 16. Thereafter he moved to New Mexico and Grant County, and later to Glenwood in Catron County. He was an accomplished mechanic and a licensed electrician and served the people of Glenwood for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenwood and was a historical writer of New Mexico. Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Essie Clara Richards of Glenwood; one sister, Julie Covey of Cornville, Ariz., one brother, Milton P. Richards of Sedona, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. One brother Jack preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Glenwood Presbyterian Church with interment following in the Glenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Harry N. Champlin will officiate at both services. Pallbearers will be Hugh B. McKeen, Harold Keith, Owen Lorentzen, Howard Hutchinson, Robert Alsip and Buddy Allred. RICHARDS: Josephine F. Richards, 83, a lifelong resident of Lordsburg, entered into rest Sunday at her residence. She was born April 9, 1911 in La Luz, Guanajuato, Mexico and was a homemaker. A morning service will be held Wednesday from 9-10 at the Cedar Hills Tabernacle with graveside services to follow at eleven at Mountain View Cemetery in Lordsburg. RICHARDS: Richards: William "Bill" Richards, 88, of Bayard entered life eternal Thursday in Chandler, Ariz. He was born July 7, 1903, in Fort Grant, Ariz., and was a longtime resident of Grant County. Mr. Richards was employed by U.S. Smelting, Refining, and Mining Co. for many years. He started his mining career in 1928 and retired in 1971. He was a master electrician. Mr. Richards was a graduate of Tempe Normal School, now known as Arizona State University. RICHARDS: Funeral services for Bill Richardson, accident victim, will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in the Cox Mortuary' Chapel Interment will be in Silver City cemetery with Mr. Kenneth Marrs officiating at both rites. Bill Richardson, 52, Santa Rita, churn drill operator for Chino Mines, died Tuesday in an El Paso hospital where he was taken for treatment following serious injuries suffered when a sheave broke from the mast of the drill and struck him in the head. Richardson and his assistant, Frank Morrison, were trying to loosen a drill bit, according to investigators, when a 40-pound sand line sheave broke from the drill mast, fell 20 feet and struck Richardson in the head. He suffered a fractured skull. The deceased is survived by his widow, Eve Richardson, Silver City, two daughters, Annabelle Nance, Lometa, Tex., and Betty McDowell, Albuquerque, two brothers, Sam Richardson, Bagdad, Ariz., and Borden Richardson, Tyrone, and a sister, Lizzie.

RICHARDSON: Charles E. Richardson, 55, manager of Charlie's Gateway Restaurant in Hurley, died Friday, July 22 in Hillcrest General Hospital after a sudden illness. He was a 20-year Air Force veteran, retiring in 1968. Richardson is survived by his wife, Teresa Canon Richardson of Nogales, Ariz; two daughters, Linda Angulo and Judith Richardson of Nogales; two sons, Charles Richardson and Barry Richardson of Nogales; three sisters, Ethel Broyes of Greenville, Tenn, Bethel Davidson of Virginia and Jutie Danton of Sparta, Tenn. and one grandchild. RICHARDSON: Mrs. Addie Colson Richardson died Tuesday at 12 noon in Silver City. Mrs. Richardson was born in Menard, Texas, Jan. 3, 1885, and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Colson, to the Colson home on the Mimbres River when she was two years old and lived in this vicinity all of her life. She had been an invalid for the past several years and had been cared for in the home of Mrs. Katherine Hooten in Silver City, where she passed away. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence C. Richardson, three children, James C. Richardson, Sausalito, Calif., Mrs. C. C.Bassett both of Hurley, five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bisby of Miami, Ariz., and Mrs. Henry Opgenorth of Truth or Consequences. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson arrived by plane Wednesday from California to be with the family and to attend the funeral services which will be held at the Cox Mortuary Chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Harold E. Johnson conducting the rites. Burial will be in the Deming Masonic Cemetery with graveside ritualistic services by the Hurley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Pallbearers will be Claude Donnelley, Tom White, John Cooper, Bob Robbins, George Nordloh and Henry Wallis.

RICHARDSON: Alvy D. "Buster" Richardson passed away Tuesday at his residence in Silver City. He was born in Red Rock on Nov. 29, 1928 to Borden and Georgia Richardson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After serving four years in the Army-Air Corps overseas as a power station supervisor, he came back to New Mexico and later worked in the initial exploratory drilling operation at Old Tyrone. He retired after 19 years from Kennecott Copper Corp. as a heavy-equipment diesel maintenance foreman at Chino. He enjoyed his family, the quiet outdoors, fishing, his animals and bird watching. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; three daughters, Terry Ann Dominguez and her husband, Ralph, Mary Lou Malone and her husband, Brad and Georgia R. Bibles; five grandchildren, Ralph Dominguez, Jr., Kristine Dominguez, Brad Malone, and Jennifer and Justine Bibles; and four great-grandchildren. Viewing will begin Friday at 9 a.m. in Baca's Funeral Chapels, with the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Ralph Dominguez, first counselor in the bishopric of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will conduct the service. RICHARDSON: Mrs. Betty June Richardson, a former resident of Silver City, passed away Wednesday in Phoenix. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Simpson of Oak Park, Ill. Her death came as a shock to a wide circle of friends in this community. Mrs. Richardson was the former Mrs. R. R. Davis. Funeral services were held Saturday in Phoenix, with interment in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.

RICHARDSON: Della Cureton Richardson, 92, died Sunday at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City after a short illness. Born Ella Lee Waldon on July 4, 1900, in Winters, Texas, she moved to Grant County at an early age with her mother and sister, Vera. She married Edgar Cureton on Nov. 18, 1920. Mr. Cureton was from a prominent pioneer ranching family, and he and his wife began ranching on the C-Bar Ranch in the Burro Mountains. Mr. Cureton died in 1956 and she continued to operate the ranch until her death. In 1960, she married Frank Richardson and they continued the ranching business together until his death in 1988. Mrs. Richardson's sister, Vera, and her mother also preceded her in death. Mrs. Richardson is survived by three nieces, Florence Cureton Stapel, Mary Cureton Bray and Dorothy Cureton Jackson, and two nephews, James Cureton and Robert Cureton. Cremation will take place Wednesday. Her ashes will be scattered over the C-Bar Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Curtis-Bright Funeral Home of Silver City.

RICHARDSON: Mrs. Edna C. Richardson, 80, died at Hillcrest Hospital August 6 following a brief illness. Mrs. Richardson was a native of Breckegridge, MI., and had resided in Gila for the past five years. She is survived by her husband, Roy C. Richardson of Gila; one son Pearce Richardson of Bellevue, MI; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Barney of Zionsville, ID, and Mrs. Ann Hunt of Cliff; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 7 at 3 p.m. at the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Hensley of the Cliff Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. The family has requested that donations be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cliff.

RICHARDSON: Frank Richardson, 55, a resident of the C Bar Ranch, passed away Friday, Oct. 14 at the ranch. Mr. Richardson was a rancher and worked at the C Bar for more than 30 years. He was married in 1966 to Della Lee Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Della Lee, of the ranch; one brother, Alvy D. Richardson of Silver City; and three sisters, Lucy M. Schaffer and Velma R. Poe, both of Albuquerque, and Barbara Sloan of Lancaster, Calif. Visitation was Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the Curtis-Bright Chapel. Funeral services were today at 2 p.m. in the Curtis-Bright Chapel with the Rev. C.M. Henderson officiating. Interment followed in Memory Lane. Pallbearers were Harold Kissinger, Benny Denlap, border patrolman Harold Kinsler, Don Lee, Iru Bray and David Woodward. Honorary pallbearers were George Jackson Sr., Steve Maxwell and the Maxwell family. Arrangements were by the Curtiss-Bright Funeral Home.

RICHARDSON: Herbert Wayne Richardson, 7, son of Herbert and Della Fae Richardson, was killed instantly in a one car accident near his home in Thermopolis, Wyoming, Saturday, Feb. 23. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Spurgeon of Glenwood and Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Richardson of Las Cruces. His great grandfather, W. M. Kelly, Sr. lives in Silver City. The child was asleep on the back seat of the car which was being driven by his father, who apparently lost control and he and the child were thrown out. The father was thrown clear of the pavement, but the child struck the pavement and was hit by the car and killed instantly. The mother, sitting in the front seat, and a sister, Nita Fae, and a brother James Wallace who were standing up between the back and front seats, were not injured. He is survived by other relatives in Glenwood and in Silver City. Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. from the home of his Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon at Alma cemetery. The Herbert Richardson’s formerly lived in Glenwood and have many friends in Catron and Grant Counties.

RICHARDSON. James Kneeland Richardson, 87, a longtime resident of Silver City, died Friday of renal failure following a long illness. He is survived by two sons, James K. Richardson Jr. and George L. Richardson, both, of Dallas; a brother, Dr. George S Richardson of Roswell and three Grandchildren. He was preceded death by his beloved wife, Wilma and esteemed older brother, Alan Richardson of Carlsbad. He was born Jan. 28,Glasgow, Mo., and grew up in Fort Sumner, where his father was an officer with a bank. He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1928. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering from Missouri School of Mines in 1932, a master's degree in engineering from the University of Missouri in 1935, and a doctorate of engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1969. He married Wilma Lusk. daughter of Don and Edith Lusk of Silver City, on Sept. 15, 1934. He served his country from 1943-46 as an officer in the U.S. Army with the field artillery, coastal artillery, and Office of Strategic Services. Dr. Richardson enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the mining industry. He was first employed as an engineer with U.S. Potash Co. in Carlsbad. In 1936, the Richardson’s moved to Leadville, CO, where he was employed as director of safety at Climax Molybdenum Co. From 1946-50, he served as secretary-manager of the Utah Mining Association and, from 1950-54, as assistant to the president of Kennecott Copper in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1954, he came to Hurley as assistant general manager for Chino Mines, serving in this capacity until 1959. At this time, he and his family moved to Montreal. Quebec, and later San Francisco, where he served as vice president of Clover Associates. In 1963, he and his wife moved to Stamford, Conn., where he was vice president of Copper Range Co. From 1973-80, he served as president of the Arizona Mining Association in Phoenix. He retired in Silver City as president emeritus in 1980. Dr. Richardson generously served his profession and his community. He was an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers; served as councilor and past president of the Mining and Metallurgical Society of America; and was past division chairman of the American Institute of Mining Engineers. He served On the Governor's Commission on Arizona Environment, Governor's Citizens Energy Task Force, the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the Federal Metal and Nonmetal Mine Safety Advisory Committee, Certified Safety Professionals, Mining Club of the Southwest, and the Arizona Club. Of his many civic contributions, however, Dr. Richardson recalled his positions as vestryman and senior warden at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Silver City, saying this work meant a great deal to him. Yet, in the view of Dr. Richardson's family and many friends, his most lasting contributions came through his role as a father, grandfather, adviser and friend. Those whom he touched will be ever grateful for his influence on their lives. A Eucharist burial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday at 2 in the afternoon with the Rev. Robert Ihbefeld officiating. RICHARDSON: Mrs. Sarah Elidia Richardson, widow of the late Sam Richardson, Sr., died Tuesday evening, May 23, at her son's home in Cliff. A resident of this county for 72 years, she came here when seven from Mesilla, her birthplace, in 1871. Although her residence was in Silver City, she had been staying at the home of her son, Sam Richardson, Jr., in Cliff for sometime prior to her death. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 3:30 from the Cox Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. O.K. Alexander of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made in the Silver City Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, Sam of Cliff, William of Silver City and Alvy of Wilcox, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Beasley of Cliff; a brother, Caesar Brock of Lordsburg; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were R.L. Kimmick, Larry Hunt, Willard Parsons, J.T. Betts, Harmon Crumbley and Clee Crumbley.

RICHARDSON: Lawrence C. Richardson, 79, prominent pioneer rancher who had resided in Grant County for 53 years, died last Friday. Mr. Richardson was a retired employee of Kennecott Copper Corp., at Hurley and years ago acquired ranching property near Faywood, where he had made his home. He was a past master of Hurley Lodge No. 55 AF&AM. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Holman and Mrs. Marian Bassett, both of Hurley; a son, James C. Richardson of Sausalito, Calif.; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Goins of Deming and Mrs. Willie Myers of Hillsboro. The Rev. Harold E. Johnson of Santa Rita and the Rev. Ernest T. Berkeley of Hurley officiated at funeral services held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Curtis Mortuary chapel. Members of the Hurley Masonic Lodge held graveside services at the Mountain View Cemetery in Deming. Serving as pallbearers were B. A. Robbins, Forrest Delk, Ledrue Eby, Merritt Kelly, Regis McSherry and W R Warren.

RICHARDSON: Wilma Lusk Richardson, 84, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, daughter of Don W. Lusk and Edith Billings Lusk, was born April 10, 1910 in Las Vegas, territory of New Mexico. Her family moved to Silver City in 1914. Mr. Lusk, one of the pioneer newsmen of New Mexico, served as editor of Silver City's Independent, Enterprise and the Press; her mother was the owner and founder of Silver City's Lusk Flower and Gift Shop. Mrs. Richardson graduated from Teachers' College High School in 1928 and attended the University of New Mexico on an Eccles scholarship. Upon her graduation in 1932, she served as a teacher in Mosquero and, later, as secretary of the president of the University of New Mexico. While at the university she was a member of the Kappa Gamma sorority, and Phi Kappa Phi an honorary scholastic fraternity. She married James K. Richardson of Carlsbad on Sept. 15, 1934, at the Bear Mountain Lodge near Silver City. Moving to Carlsbad, where her new husband was an engineer with the United States Potash Co., she made this their home until 1936, when she and her husband moved to Climax, Colo., where they made their home until he was called to duty in the military service, at which time she and their children moved back to Silver City. Upon Mr. Richardson's release from the Army, they lived in Salt Lake City until 1959, when his employer sent him to the Silver City area, where he served as assistant general manager of Chino Mines. Mrs. Richardson often told folks that she has made during her life some 19 district moves as a result of marrying a mining man. Upon Mr. Richardson's retirement as president of the Arizona Mining Association in Phoenix, in 1980, they returned to her roots, Silver City. Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband; two sons, James k. Richardson Jr. of Hudson, Wis., and George Lusk Richardson of McKinney, Texas, and their wives, Barbara and Kay; and three grandchildren, Amy Timberlake of Chicago, Andy Richardson of Providence R.I., and Austin Richardson of McKinney. Mrs. Richardson was an active member and national director of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers Inc. A memorial service is to be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, the church at which Mrs. Richardson and her children were baptized. RICHARDSON: James Calvin Richardson, 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away Saturday at Kaiser Foundation Hospital. He was born May 31, 1907, in New Mexico. Mr. Richardson was a member of Hurley Lodge No. 55, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies, Legion of Honor, Aloha Temple Shrine, Aica Shrine Club, Hickam Square and Compass Club and DeMolay. He is survived by his wife, Grayce I. Richardson; and two sisters, Gladys Holman and Marion Bassett of New Mexico. Graveside services will be held in San Bruno, Calif., at Golden Gate National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday. Arrangements are by Borthwick Mortuary of Honolulu.

RICHARTE: Ricardo M. Richarte, 61, passed away Saturday, August 27 at Hillcrest Hospital. Mr. Richarte was a native of Mexico, and was a retired employee of Kennecott Copper Corporation at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Apolonia Richarte of Hurley, three daughters, Mrs. Mary Kennedy of Santa Clara, Ca1if, Mrs. Irene Gutierrez of Silver City, Mrs. Rita Armendariz of Bayard and seven Grandchildren. Survivors also include seven sisters, Miss Francisca Richarte of Mexico, Mrs. Felicita Quintana of El Paso, Tex., Mrs. Lupe Torres of Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. Lucia Maldonado, Mrs. Amelia Baca, Mrs. Catarina Jaramilo, Mrs. Elvira Yduarte, all of Silver City and a brother, Refugio Richarte of Silver City. Rosary services were recited August 29 at the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass was said Tuesday, August 30 at the Infant Jesus Catholic Church In Hurley with Monsignor Delfin Thomas conducting both services. Interment followed in the Hurley Cemetery. RICHARTE: Maria D. Richarte, 88, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away Wednesday at her home in Gila. Mrs. Richarte was born Feb. 22, 1903, in Santa Rita to Pedro and Jesus (Vera) Dominguez. She was a housewife and a member of San Isidro Catholic Church in Gila. She is survived by five sons, Fidel Maldonado of Silver City, Crispin Maldonado of El Paso, Texas, and Pedro Maldonado, Angel Plasencio and Pablo Richarte, all of Gila; two daughters, Leonar Flores of Los Angeles and Louisa Brooks of Blacksburg, Va.; three sisters, Librado Castillo of Las Cruces, Clara Villarreal of Gila, and Sarah Moeglar of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Rito Domingues of Silver City, Manuel Domingues of Gila, Cresencio Domingues of Mimbres, and Placido Domingues of Silver City; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the San Isidro Catholic Church in Gila. The Rev. George Reynolds will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mesa Cemetery in Gila. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the rosary Sunday at 7 p.m. at Dannible's Chapel of the Roses, U.S. 180 East, Silver City. RICHBURG: Furman "Judge" Richburg, 74, a Deming resident who worked 17 years at Chino Mines Co., died Thursday in Deming. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-6 in Baca's Funeral Chapel, and a graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery in Deming with the Rev. Steven Chappell of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Deming Masonic Lodge No. 12 will conduct Masonic services with military honors provided by American Legion Bataan Post No. 4. He was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Loraine, Texas, and was a veteran of the U.S Army. He was employed as a boilermaker and was a resident of Deming for 10 years. He was a member of Deming Masonic Lodge No. 12, American Legion Bataan Post No. 4, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 2008, and the Elks Lodge of Apache, Ariz. Survivors include his wife, Billie, of the home. Baca's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

RICHESON; Paul Wellington Richeson, 65, resident West of Deming died at his home recently. He was born Jan. 22, 1919 in Orrville, Ohio and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired mechanic and moved to Deming 15 years ago where he was a member of the First Christian Church and the National Rifle Association. Funeral services were held at Baca's Wheeler Funeral Chapel. Gaylan Watterson, Pastor of the First Christian Church officiated and interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Helen Richeson of the home; a son, John Richeson, Deming and a sister, Gwendolyn Minser of Mt. Eaton, Ohio. Pallbearers were Joe Pastran, Ernest Linam, Thomas Parrinello, Jack Ferguson, K.L. Nabours and Charles Nigh. Honorary bearers were Clifford Fieselman and Doug Downing. RICHINS: George Arthur Richins Jr., 70, of Lordsburg died Tuesday, April 27, at St. Joseph Hospital in Albuquerque. A funeral service was to be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Alien Smith officiating. Interment will be Saturday at City of Tahoka Cemetery in Tahoka, Texas. Mr. Richins will be buried next to his beloved wife, Patsy. His brother, Lin Richins, will dedicate the grave. Mr. Richins was born Sept. 30, 1928, to George Arthur Richins and Leah Naegle Richins. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Patsy Celene Smith, July 31, 1948, in Lordsburg. She died in December 1974. Mr. Richins' heart was as big as the wide-open spaces he loved and where he made his home. He enjoyed the big rigs he drove when employed by Time Inc. Even as a child, there are pictures in which he had a truck perched on his head. After resigning from Time, he worked for Phelps Dodge in Playas until retirement. He was one of the first to enjoy farming in the Pyramid Valley east of Lordsburg. Successful in all his business pursuits, he had a comfortable retirement and fully enjoyed those short years. He had a passion for deer hunting, seeking hidden treasures of arrowheads, and palling around with family and friends. His biggest passion was being actively involved with his grandkids. Young at heart, with lots of energy, he always wanted to be doing things with his grandkids and was always trying to help or give them something. He drove many miles to be there for them and their activities. All who knew him could see right through that tough-guy person he tried so hard to por- tray. Generous at heart, he was the type of dad, brother and friend who would give his shirt off his back if he even thought you might need it. If he was your friend, no one was truer or more fun to be with. He and his bear hugs, quick sense of humor, and great laughter are deeply missed. He is survived by two daughters, Leigh Celene Wilson and her husband, Danny, of Nogal, and Lynne Richins of Silver City; two sons, A.D. Richins and his wife Sue, of Mimbres, and Don Richins and his wife, Denise, of Mojave Valley, Ariz.; four sisters, Leah Rae Blair of Carrolton, Texas, Thelma Upshaw and her husband, Bert, of Garland, Texas, Betty Burke and her husband, Tom of New Harmony, Utah, and Lucille Flint and her husband, Don, of New Harmony; a brother, Lin Richins, and his wife Nancy, of Sacramento. Calif.; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. RICHMOND: Kenneth Richmond, former well-known mining-engineer of Silver City, who for the past two years had been on the staff of the Cyprus Mining Company on the Island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea, was killed in an automobile accident on Oct. 23. He is survived by a son, Clyde, serving in the U. S. Army; a daughter, Ellen, student at New Mexico Highlands University and another son, Jack a sophomore at New Mexico Western College.

RICHMEYER: Dawn Richmeyer, 65, died Monday in her home in Roswell. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 24, 1931. She was the wife of Pastor Edward Richmeyer, former pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Silver City. She taught at Snell Junior High for many years. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Lynn, Lori and Michel; one son, Tim; four grandchildren; and several sisters and brothers. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held June 27 in Roswell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to her memory at Messiah Lutheran Church, Silver City, NM.

RICHTER: Rudy C. Richter, 73, of Silver City died Tuesday evening at his home after an extended illness. He was born July 11, 1922 in Philadelphia and had been a resident of Grant County for almost six years. Mr. Richter was a retired electronics engineer and was a member of the Silver Christian Center. Memorial services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in Baca's Funeral Chapels, followed by a committal service at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Mr. Bob Drezek, pastor of the Silver Christian Center, will be officiating. Veteran honors will be accorded by local veterans groups. Cremation has taken place at Baca's Mimbres Crematorium. Survivors include his wife, Susie Marie Richter of Silver City; a son, Ronald T. Richter of Hayward, Calif.; two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Martinez and her husband, Al of Silver City, and Mary A. Montes and her husband, Ruben of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. RICKARDS: Mrs. May Rickards, 80, of Glenwood, died in a Silver City rest home Saturday. Surviving is a daughter, Miss Edna May Rickards of Silver City. A son, William T. Rickards met accidental death last summer while fighting a fire in the Gila National Forest. The body was sent to Chicago by the Curtis Mortuary, where funeral services, were held, followed by burial.

RICO: Crecencio Rico, 70, passed away Sunday, May 28, at Ft. Bayard Medical Center. Mr. Rico was a lifelong resident of Grant County. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lupe Mitchell of Casa Grande, Ariz., Mrs. Sally Martinez of Corona, Calif., a son, Crecencio Rico, Jr., of Washington, D.C., 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass was at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Central with Rev. Fr. Paul Ragazinskas officiating. Burial followed in the Central Cemetery. Mr. Rico was born in Central and was a lifelong resident of Grant County, had served in the armed forces from 1950 to 1952, and was a communicant of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte G. Rico of Silver City; three daughters, Yolanda Cook and Georgia Rivera, both of Silver City and Tillie Rivera of Deming; three sisters, Della Martinez and Billie Ordonez, both of Central, and Margie Rico of Albuquerque; three brothers, Onorio Rico of Central, Frank Rico of Denver, Colo., and Kelly Rico of Florida; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. RIDDLE: Charlotte Riddle, 95, of Reserve, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, in Fort Bayard Medical Center. No local services are planned. Mrs. Riddle will be interred in Ventura, Calif. She was born June 24, 1907 in Cades Cove, Tenn. She was the daughter of George Tipton and Margaret Burchfield. She married James A. Riddle on April 6, 1927 in Maryville, Tenn. preceded her in death Sept. 20 1960. Mrs. Riddle is survived by nine children, Helen Beebe of Reserve, Betty Luce and her husband, George, of Palm Desert Calif; James Albert Riddle Jr. of Reserve, Bill Riddle and his wife, Kelly, of Prescott. Ariz., Bergin Riddle, Darrel Riddle and Suzanne Cramer, all of Reserve, Charlene Story and her husband Gene of Locust fork Ala., and Leroy Riddle and his wife Bobby of Cornville, Az.; 25 grandchildren and numerous other relatives. RIDDLE: Chandes Riddle of Mimbres, 72, died Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque. He was born in Arkansas in 1914. In 1951 he and his wife moved and lived in the Grant County area. He was a break man at Chino Mines in Santa Rita for 13 years, and he was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Riddle is survived by his wife, Virginia, and by six children, Virginia Strong of Weatherford, Okla., Jimmy Riddle of Canoga Park, Calif., Doris Walsmith of Hanover, Kenneth Riddle of Mimbres, Donald Riddle of Arrey, and Karen Williams, also of Arrey; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ula King of Silver City, Wilma Coulter of Forsyth, Mo., and Elizabeth Davenport of Chino, Calif. He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Riddle. Viewing for the family and friends will be Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. in the French Funeral Home in Truth or Consequences. RIDDLE: Clyde Riddle, 79, of Reserve, died recently at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 25, 1904 in Arkansas, the son of John Henry and Amanda Riddle. Mr. Riddle was a member of the Reserve Valley Booster Club and the Reserve Sportsmen Association. Survivors include his wife, Nell Marie Coss Riddle of Reserve; five daughters; Betty Radvillas, Ruth Ann Sandidge, Lillie Marie Riddle, all of Reserve, Mary Ann Babb of Dawson Springs, Ky. and Elsie Riddle of Ark. He was preceded in death by another daughter, Gracie Riddle in 1972. He is also survived by three sons, Charles Clyde Riddle of Meridian, Miss, Harry Leslie Riddle of Reserve and Bud Riddle of Ark; two sisters, Mrs. Anthony Chapman of Florida and Mrs. Cal Irons of McGee, Ark; one brother, Eric Riddle of Gravilly, Ark; 13 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. RIDDLE: John King of Hurley has been advised by a sister living in Alabama that their brother, James R. Riddle, 56, died suddenly in Madrid, Spain, Monday morning. Mr. Riddle was with the United States Consulate service at the American Embassy in Madrid. His wife will accompany the body back to Talladega, Ala., where burial will take place. Funeral arrangements are pending on her arrival.

She was born May 11, 1924, in Weatherford, Okla., to William Mericle and Norma Hayden, and married Chan Riddle, who preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include three sons, Jim Riddle of Orange, Calif., Kenneth Riddle and wife, Linda, of Mimbres, and Ronald Riddle and wife, Trinna, of Arrey; three daughters, Virginia Strong and husband, Clarence, of Weatherford, Doris Walsmith and husband, Frank, of Mimbres, and Karen Williams and husband, Bobby, of Silver City; two brothers, Eldon Mericle of Elk City, Okla., and Ernest Mericle of City of Industry, Calif.; a sister, Georgia Fern Mericle of Weatherford; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. RIDLING: Mrs. Helen Ridling, 55, died suddenly last Friday at her home in Arenas Valley. A coroner's jury ruled that, death was due to natural causes. Survivors of the deceased include her husband Ervin E. RIDLING: Mrs. Nannie Doyle Ridling, 75 died this week in Santa Rita hospital after a long period of illness. She had been a resident of this area for about 13 years and came here from Oklahoma. Surviving are her husband, John L Ridling, Silver City; four sons, Irvin, Russellville, Ark.,Billey?, Silver City, Amond and Raymond, Santa Rita; two daughters Mrs. Joe Jones, Tyler, Tex., Mrs. Joe Learned, Morgantown, Pa.; four brothers, Erwin Togan, Beaumont, Tex., Jim Hogan, Mena, Ark., William Hogan, Vandervoort, Ark., Jack Hogan, Tulsa, Okla.; and 12 grand children and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, In the Santa Rita Baptist church with the Rev. Jack McCullough officiating. Burial will be in the Silver City cemetery. RIDLING: Raymond D. Ridling, 51, a resident of Corrales, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 9. Mr. Ridling was born in Silver City and raised in the area. He was employed by the state of New Mexico. Survivors include his wife, Erline, of Corrales; and four children, Raymond D. Ridling Jr., Cathy D'Arcangelis and her husband, Ore, Deborah Moore and her husband, Michael, and Teresa Bishop and her husband, Darren. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Alex and Renee D'Arcangelis, and Jessica, Leslie and James Bishop; his stepmother, Imogene Ridling; and two sisters, Bonnell Lewis and Evon Bleak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Helen Ridling. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 12.

RIDLING: Iley C. Ridling, 86, a resident of Herford, Az and former resident of Silver City entered into rest Thursday at Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz. following a stroke. He was born May 18,1909, in Polk County, Ariz. to John L. and Nannie Hogan Ridling. Mr. Ridling was a businessman in Silver City until his retirement in 1972 when he moved to Arizona. Survivors include his wile, Dola of Herford; a son, Lealen C. Ridling of Pason, Az.; a daughter Leona Baxter of Hereford; a sister, Dessie Learned of Morgantown, Pa.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and one great-grandson. Visitation will be held Monday from 1-2 pm. at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the funeral service following at 2. RIEDLINGER: Muriel M. Shelton Riedlinger, 90, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Lane Cemetery, with the Rev. Don Atchley officiating. Mrs. Riedlinger was born Nov. 15, 1907, in Pleasanton. She was the daughter of Kelly Shelton and Leova Sipe Shelton. She married John Baptist Riedlinger on May 13, 1939, in Silver City. Mrs. Riedlinger is survived by one daughter, Nora Marlene Riedlinger of Silver City;' two granddaughters, Crystal Arnett of Bronx, N.Y., and Anastia Arnett of Santa Clara; three great-grandchildren, Isabel Arnett of Bronx, and Kurtis John Arnett and Thomas Arnett, both of Santa Clara; cousins, Jim "Speedy" Shelton, Tom Shelton, Charles "Sharky" Shelton, Lacy Shelton and Dorothy Shelton; and one nephew, John Shelton. Mrs. Riedlinger was preceded in death by her father and mother (who died at 102 years of age), and one brother, Guy Shelton, in 1962. Mrs. Riedlinger, along with her parents, moved to Silver City from Pleasanton. She graduated from New Mexico Western High School in 1927. She later attended New Mexico Western College for three years. She taught school in Grant County and Luna County. In 1931, she moved to Los Angeles, and attended Marinello College of Cosmetology, where she graduated as an honor student, then moved back to Silver City. In 1939, she married John Riedlinger, who was a general contractor and carpenter in Silver City. Mr. Riedlinger passed away Jan. 4, 1984. Two years later, Mrs. Riedlinger moved to Peoria, Ariz., to be near her daughter and family. She lived there seven years. Later, she, along with her daughter, Nora, and her family, moved back to Silver City. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Gila regional Hospice Program. Family and friends will gather in the Riedlinger home at 29 Oakwood Ave after the funeral service. Entrusted to Bright.

RIEDLINGER; John B. Riedlinger, died Wednesday, Jan. 4 in Gila Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was born June 1, 1910, the son of Phillip J. and Agnes Carson Riedlinger and was a lifelong resident of Silver City. Riedlinger was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a general contractor of the state of New Mexico from 1943 to 1972, when he retired. He also served as town councilman for Silver City from 1954 to 1956. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Muriel Riedlinger of Silver City; one daughter, Marlene Arnett and two granddaughters of Peoria, Az; one sister, Frances Malone of Sacramento, Ca; his mother-in-law, Leova Shelton of Silver City; two nephews, John E. Shelton of New Carrollton, Mary and Michael Malone of Sacramento, CA; one uncle, Adolph Carsonof Tucson, Az; three aunts, Leota Gatlin of Tucson, Az, Florence Salchli and Rose Ferrell, both of Ca and several cousins. Services were held Jan. 9 at the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Rev. Don Atchley. Interment followed at Memory Lane Cemetery, with graveside services by B.P.O.E. No. 413. Serving as pallbearers were Reed Tenney, Robert Everard, Charles Heald, Neil Parrish, Larry Lopez and Ray Lee. REIHS: Chris Reihs, pioneer Silver City businessman who retired some years ago and moved to Calif. to live, died Saturday, in Lincoln hospita1 Los Angeles. News of his death was received by The Enterprise Thursday in letter from Otto C Metzer. Mr. Reihs was among the early day residents of Silver City and for many years was actively engaged in business here, at one time being the controlling stockholder in the Silver City Beer & Ice co., his principal as associate being W J (Josh) Brent. When he retired Mr. Brent became agent for his extensive property interests here, until these were sold by Mr. Reihs in recent years. Mr. Reihs was born in Germany in 1867, and entered the United States as a youthful immigrant. He came to Silver City in the late 80's, taking a Job with the firm, of Jones, Downes & Company, grocers and meat market operators as a butcher. Industrious and frugal, he later embarked in business for himself and was successful, retiring about 2O years ago a wealthy man. He was a Life Member of the Silver City Lodge of Elks, joining the Order in 1912 being one of its oldest members at the time of his death.

RIEMER: Irene Villines Riemer, a former Grant County resident, died Sunday, Jan. 14, in a Cleveland hospital She was 52. Most of her adult life she lived in Midaga? until about a year ago when she moved to Ohio with her husband, Ron, who survives her. Other survivors are her two daughters, Stierri Lassiter of Blame, Tenn., and Shannon Gonzalez of Melamora, Mich.; two granddaughters, Crystal and Amber Lassiter; her brother, Ather Villenes of Saudi Arabia; her sister, Gloria V. Rascon of Silver City and her uncle, Braullo Williams of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy V. Contreras, in 1991. At her request she will be cremated and no services are scheduled.

RIGG: John "Jack" Rigg, 83, a resident of Silver City, entered eternal rest Monday morning at his home. He was born May 17, 1907, in Bisbee, Ariz. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, and was a retired heavy equipment operator. Cremation by Baca's Mimbres Crematorium has taken place. Survivors include his wife, Edna Rigg of Silver City; a daughter, Barbara Richards of Silver City; a stepdaughter, Anne Briscoe of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Cynthia Richards, Lorraine Puleston and Stephen Richards; and a great-grandchild, Amanda Bates. RIGGS: James Roland Riggs, 66, a resident of Bayard, passed away in his home Friday. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec., 31, 1928, in Jacksboro, Texas, to William and Edna Riggs. He attended school in Jacksboro until he was old enough to join the merchant marine, serving in World War II. After leaving the military, he worked in the Texas oil fields, eventually moving to New Mexico, where he worked as an electrician with Electrical Union 611. Mr. Riggs worked for the state electrical bureau as chief inspector for several years. He also worked construction in Texas and New Mexico until he retired in 1985 for health reasons. He and his wife, Simmie, made their home in Bayard, where they lived for the past 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Simmie Riggs of the home; four sons, Edward Ortiz and his wife, Ruth, Leroy Riggs and Michael Riggs and his wife, Kathi, all of Santa Fe, and Joseph Riggs and his wife, Robyn, of Junction, Texas; and five daughters, Yolanda Voyles and her husband, Vernon, of Carlsbad, Yvonne Riggs of Rio Rancho, and Shirley Riggs Gonzales and her husband, Floyd, Brenda Montoya and her husband, Robert, and Juliet E. Riggs, all of Santa Fe. He is also survived by his brother, W.A. "Sonny" Riggs, and his wife, Ruth, of Dallas; and his sisters, Alma Bynum, Esta Winn, Sadie Barrett and her husband, Craton, and Myrtle King and her husband, Dale, all of Jacksboro, Wilma Tuttle and her husband, Walter, of Shawnee, Okla., and Vivian Ruth Jackson and her husband, Oscar, of Seymore, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vesta Fenter. At the family's request, cremation has taken place with Baca's Mimbres Crematorium. A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 at Baca's Funeral Chapels with Pastor Jesse Liles officiating. Burial of cremains will take place in Jacksboro at a later date. RILEY: Robbin D "Rob" Riley, 41, of Tyrone, died Monday Aug 8 in Hillcrest General Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Howard and Lois Huges Riley, and was a resident of Tyrone since 1981. Riley was self-employed as owner-operator of TEPECO. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Silver City and the National Rifle Association. Riley is survived by his wife, Josie Riley of Tyrone; his mother, Lois Eleanor Riley of Austin, Texas; four stepchildren, Melissa, Michael and Matthew of Tyrone; two brothers, Sidney A. George of Seattle and Melton J. Riley of Friends Wood, Texas. Memorial services were held Friday, Aug 12 in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of the Rev. RILEY: William E. Riley, 76, a resident of this area since the early 1940's, died Monday evening in the hospital at Las Cruces, following an extended illness. Mr. Riley owned and operated the Santa Rita Motor Company until he closed his business in about 1966. He and his wife, Mrs. Sally Riley, who survives him, resided at their ranch property east of the Ft. Bayard Reservation. He was one of the elders of the Church of Christ, Hanover. Survivors other than the widow include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Jeffus of Las Cruces; a grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Birdie Prude of Artesia, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hilt of Deming; and a brother, Pat Riley of Artesia, The funeral service was held Thursday at the Graham Mortuary In Las Cruces, with burial following In the Las Cruces Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Coldwell, Charles Martin, Bill Morriso, Harlan Smith, Glen Young and Lonnie Morrison.

RILEY: Billy Wayne Riley, 36 of Quitman, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1958, in Plant City, Fla. He had been in Quitman working as a paramedic with the Heber Springs Emergency Medical Service. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Billy and Patricia Riley; his mother and stepfather, Shirley and John Briggs; a son, Bryan Wayne Riley; a daughter, Christi Riley; a brother, David Riley, and his wife, Vonda; his maternal grandparents, Homer and Maudie Smith; his paternal grandmother, Cary Lee Riley; nieces, Pamela and Tamara Riley; stepsisters, Linda Dickey and her husband, Bill, Sharon Briggs and Valerie Briggs; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Riley: Deborah Sue (Masoner) Riley, 43 passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Quitman, Ark. She was born May 1, 1951, in Silver City to C.R. and Betty (Gardy) Masoner. She was employed by Conway Medical Service in Conway, Ark. She lived most of her life in the Silver City area. She served as an emergency medical technician, paramedic, county coroner and volunteer firefighter in Grant County for many years. She was also a charter member of the Gila Valley EMS. She is survived by her children, Catherine Fay Wolf and her husband, Mark, of Buckhorn, and Charles Timothy Wood and his wife, Stacy, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; her parents, C.R. and Betty Masoner of Buckhorn; her grandmother, Fay Masoner, also of Buckhorn; her brother, Jerry Masoner, and his wife, Ginger, of Buckhorn and her sister, Nancy Gregory, and her husband, Jim, of Mule Creek. She is also survived by her grandson, Steven Tyler Wolf, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Goble officiating. RILEY: Lonnie Joe Riley died in Fort Worth, Tex. July 1. Mr. Riley had lived here for the past few years. He is survived by his father, Eddie Riley, of Silver City, one brother, Larry, of Corona, N.M. and two sisters, Penny Jean Dalton, of San Diego and Brenda Joyce Wills of Oklahoma City, his mother, Mrs. Patsy Bogart, also of Oklahoma City, one half-brother, Gary Dean Epperly of Lubbock, TX. Services for Mr. Riley were held July 7 in the Wheeler Chapel with the Rev. W.W. Coker officiating, interment followed in Memory Lane Cemetery. RILEY; Owen Albert Riley, 63, died April 2 in El Paso, Texas. Riley was born in Lonewolf, Okla., but was a long time resident of Grant County. He was retired from Kennecott with 40 years service, a member with the Hurley Masonic Lodge No. 55 AF & AM and the American Legion Red Metal Post. He is survived by his wife Minnie Lorraine Riley of Hurley: his two sons (Jim) James Gordon Riley of El Paso, Texas and Norris Owen Riley of Houston, Texas: one sister, Mrs. W.H McDaniel of Blair, Okla. and four grandchildren. RINCON; Francisco Diaz Rincon, 81, resident of 201 West Plum died in Deming. He was born October 4, 1902 in Meoqi, Mexico and had lived in Deming the last four years. RHINESMITH: John H. Rhinesmith, 66, died August 18 in Hillcrest Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Rhinesmith had made his home in Silver City for the past 24 years. He was a retired watchmaker and jeweler for R.O. Schmitz Jewelry Co. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bonita Rhinesmith of Silver City; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Collins, of Alamogordo, Mrs. Sue Drake of Apple Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lynn of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. There are ten grandchildren and a brother, W.K. Rhinesmith of Houston also surviving. Mr. Rhinesmith was a past-exalted ruler of the Silver City Elks Lodge No. 413, past district deputy of the Order of Elks for New Mexico. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Silver City. Funeral services were held in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Alfred C. Pace of the First United Methodist Church of Silver City officiating. Interment followed in the 'Memory Lane Cemetery with the Silver Elks Lodge No. 41 conducting graveside services and acting as pallbearers.

RIO: Francisco V. Rio, 69, retired employee of the Veterans Administration hospital at Fort Bayard, died last Thursday. He had lived in Central for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Margarete Rico, four sons, Francisco. Jr. and Manuel, Central; Raquel living in the Armed Forces and Ontario serving in the Navy and three daughters, Mrs. Delia Quesade and Mrs. Isabel Tonori, Superior, Arizona; Margaret Rico, Central and Mrs. Barbara Rodriquez, Santa Barbara, Calif. and nine grandchildren. Rosary services were held at the Cox Mortuary chapel, followed by mass in the Central Catholic church and burial in the Central cemetery.

RIONDY: Ednah C. Riondy, 97, of Bayard, died Saturday in Silver City. She was born April 24, 1889 near Americus, Kan. She married Clifford H. Miller in 1909 and they had one daughter, Margery. Her husband died in 1918 in Kansas. Her second marriage was to Casper A. Riondy and they lived in Kansas for many years where their son, Frank C., was born. She moved to New Mexico in 1970. Cremation has taken place. Internment will take place at 11 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Emporia, Kan., with the Rev. John West of officiating. A reception will follow at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Emporia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the organ fund of the First Baptist Church in Bayard. Survivors include her daughter, Margery M. Scovel of Bayard; her granddaughter, Judy McMiller of Las Cruces; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frank, George, Herbert and Robert; three sisters Ethel, Bertha and Delia; her husbands, Clifford and Casper; her son, Frank; and her grandson, Jeffrey. RIOS: Atilano B. Rios, 93, died Saturday afternoon in Fort Bayard. Mr. Rios was born in Bacluiniva, Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a longtime resident of Grant County. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Rios is survived by four daughters, Juanita Valerio of Bayard, Francisca Hurtado of Sunnyvale, Calif., Lupe Martinez of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Anastacia Flores of Bayard; one Son, Jesus G. Rios of Bayard; 26 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren. Rosary recitation was held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wheeler Funeral Home chapel and graveside funeral Services were held at 10:30 am today at the Honey Cemetery with the Rev. Tomas Perez officiating. Interment followed. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons. Arrangements by Wheeler.

RIOS: David O Rios, 31, of Bayard, a smelter laborer of Kennecott died Jan. 30 at the Hillcrest General hospital as a result of complications following burns received Jan 17. An Autopsy disclosed that a pulmonary embolism resulted in closing off oxygen from the lungs. Mr. Rios received second and third degree burns to his left hand, foot and leg when he reportedly lost his footing and stepped into a crusted mate launder which broke through to the molten metal. He also received first-degree burns on his right leg and arm. Mr. Rios is survived by his wife and three children.

RIOS: Jesus G. “Barney" Rios, 74, of Bayard entered into eternal rest Saturday. May 16, at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Santa Rita to Atilano B. and Severa Gutierrez Rios. Mr. Rios was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He was a member of Local 890 of the United Steelworkers of America, retiring in 1986 from Kennecott Copper Corp. where he served for 35 years as a truck driver. Mr. Rios really enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and friends. Cremation has taken place in accord with Mr. Rios wishes and private family services were held. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Maria Rios of Bayard; four sons, David Rios and wife. RIOS: Avel M. Rios, 67, a Bayard resident, entered eternal life at his home Thursday. He was born Nov. 23,1926, in Lordsburg to Julian and Presentacion Mesa Rios. He was a Navy veteran and lived his entire adult life in Bayard. He worked as a sampler at Chino Mines until his retirement in 1972. He had a profound love for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his son, Avel H. "Boy" Rios Jr. of Turnerville; his daughters, Geneiveve R. Borunda and her husband, Albert of Hanover, and Helen Rios Castillo and her husband, Daniel, of Bayard; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Jose M. "Lendo" Rios and his wife, Mary Ann, of Bayard, and Santiago M. "Sonny" Rios and his wife, Gloria, of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Rafaela Gomez of Turnerville and Sara Flores of Bayard; and his sister-in-law, Ernestina Rios of Bayard. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Manuel Rios. RIOS: Paula Archuleta Rios, 81, died Tuesday in the Fort Bayard Medical Center. Mrs. Rios was born June 29, 1906 in Mesilla and was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Rosary services were held at 7:30 Thursday evening and Mass of the Christian burial was at 9 this morning in Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in La Union and interment followed in the La Union Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Carlos A. Rios Jr. of La Union and Edmundo A. Rios of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Lydia R. Avalos of Lakewood, Calif., and Bertha R. RIOS: Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at four for Pomposo Valles Rios, retired Kennecott employee, who died at his home in Santa Rita on Monday. The remains lay in state Tuesday at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Elena C. Morales, and the funeral services were conducted at the Santa Rita Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Pedro Ruiz officiating. Burial was in the Santa Rita Cemetery under the direction of Cox Mortuary. A resident of Grant County for 28 years, Mr. Rios was eighty-one at the time of his death. A former resident of El Paso, he was employed for many years with the Santa Fe railroad. Survivors are two granddaughters, Mrs. Lupe C. Baca and Mrs. Elena C. Morales; a grandson, Ramon R. Rios; and five great-grandchildren, all of Santa Rita.

RIOS: Presentacion M. Rios, 89, died Saturday in Bayard, Mrs. Rios was born in Durango, Mexico and had been a long time resident of the Grant County area. She is survived by two daughters, Rafaela Gomez of Turnerville, N.M., Sarah Flores of Bayard, Jose Rios of Bayard, Santiago Rios of Tucson, four sisters, Maria Rico of Pecos, N.M., Concha Chaires of Lordsburg, Carmen Verdugo of Lordsburg, Jesusita Urbells of La Puente, Calif., a brother Manuel Nevarez of Santa Rita, twenty-four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Lordsburg to Martin C. and Margarita Madero Rodriguez. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Family members include three sons, Roger Rios and Tony and Michael Rodriguez, all of Lordsburg; a sister. Mary R. Gonzalez, and her husband, Fernando, of Lordsburg; five brothers. Manuel Rodriguez and his wife, Vicky of Tucson, Ariz., Guillermo "Memo" Rodriguez and his wife, Alice, Freddie Rodriguez and Franki Rodriguez all of Lordsburg and Martin Rodriguez Jr and his wife, Rosie of Playas; and two grand children, Christi and Tonette Rodriguez. RIOS: Ysabel Reyes Rios, 95, a former resident of Silver City, passed away Sunday in her home in Albuquerque. She was born Nov. 19, 1898, in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico, She was preceded in death by her husband, Norberto Rios, and a daughter, Anita R. Contreras. She is survived by two daughters, Ramona R. Davis of Tustin, Calif., and Margarita Gallegos and her husband, Virgil, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Eugenio R. Rios of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Cruz and Rosa of Mexico. Mass of the Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday morning at Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Interment was at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Services were handled by Alameda Mortuary.

RISCH: Frank J. Risch, 79, of Central died Wednesday afternoon at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 4, 1911, in Footville, Wis., and had been a resident of Grant County for 42 years. He was a welding supply salesman for El Paso Welding Supply Co., retiring in 1975 after 35 years of service with the company. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held there Monday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Weldon W. Coker of the Glad tidings Assembly of God Church officiating. Concluding services will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, J.E McCarty, in 1990: her husband, Frank Risch, in 1990; and a brother, John McCarty Jr., in 1995. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Prophet and her husband, Wesley, of Santa Clara, and Donna Gardner and her husband, Rob, of Patagonia, Ariz; nine grandchildren, Rob Gardner and his wife, Mary, Sharon Cordova and her husband. RISINGER: Evelyn Virginia Risinger, 71, entered life eternal at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, Texas, on Monday, Feb. 15. Mrs. Risinger was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Miami, Ariz., to Perry Martin Lacy and Myrtle Mable (Sanders) Lacy. In 1939, she moved to Grant County, where she resided for a long time. She worked for many years at Mountain Bell Telephone Co., Dolly's Cafe, and Hillcrest General Hospital as a nurse's aide. Mrs. Risinger is survived by her husband, Elbert Lester "Slim" Risinger of Lola, Texas; her mother, Myrtle Lacy of Fort Bayard; two sons, James Minatrea of Oceanside, Calif., and William Wright of Las Cruces; a stepson, David Risinger of Albuquerque; two daughters, Betty Jean (Minatrea) Embry of Bells, Texas, and Charla Kay (Wright) Garletts of Seattle; a sister, Myrtle May Clayton of Albuquerque; a brother, Lester Howard Lacy of Silver City; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Lacy, two husbands, Robert Minatrea and Herbert Wright, and a grandson, Larry Joe Embry. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. in Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City with Bishop Jerry McDonald of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. RITENBAUGH: Harry C. "Bud" Ritenbaugh, 73, of Silver City passed away Wednesday evening at his residence. Mr. Ritenbaugh was born June 7, 1918, in Pittsburgh to Harry and Harriette (Speed) Ritenbaugh. Prior to his retirement in Pinos Altos 11 years ago, he was involved with sales and design of plastic bottles and worked with top designers across the country. His hobby was painting in oils and his pictures are hung in friends’ homes across the country. In Silver City, his artistic talents were used by the golf club and local businesses. Since his retirement, his main hobby had been as a member of the golf group the "Social Security Swingers." He was a Master Mason with the Franklin Lodge, A&FM in Pittsburgh, the Scottish Rite in Phoenix, and the Shrine Club in Silver City. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Katherine (McClurg) Ritenbaugh of Silver City; a daughter, Dr. Cheryl Ritenbaugh of Tucson; a grandson, Brian Garrett-Ritenbaugh of Tucson; and two sisters, Marilyn Wertz of Bradenton, Fla., and Marjorie Hartman of Winter Park, Fla. Friends are invited to attend an informal memorial service at the Pinos Altos house Sunday at 2 p.m. Arrangements are by Curtis-Bright Funeral Home of Silver City.

RITTER: Mary G. Ritter, 80, of Tucson. Ariz., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19. The holy rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Santa Clara Roman Catholic Church with Father Mike Lindsay officiating. Internment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Mrs. Ritter was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Wood River, Neb., to Dr. Robert Green and Bernadette Langan Green. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dr. Jerome Ritter; one son, Robert L. Ritter of Tucson; and one daughter, Marianne Ritter, also of Tucson. Mrs. Ritter formerly lived at Fort Bayard, where Dr. Ritter was the veteran’s hospital director from 1960-62. Mrs. Ritter considered her years at Fort Bayard as the best years of her life, and her desire was to be buried at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Mrs. Ritter was a devoted mother and very loving wife. RITTER: W F. Ritter, who passed away in El Paso Thursday, August 21, was an early resident of Silver City, having come here for his health. Ritter, 69, years old died in his home, 7001 Rim road, after a long illness He had been an El Paso resident for 27 years. When he was 21 years old, Ritter came to the southwest from his home in Camden, N.J. in 1897, starting a goat ranch near Silver City. In 1911 he moved to Lordsburg, where he took over a power company and started a lumberyard. His industrial growth from then on was rapid. At one time he managed a copper mine later sold to Phelps Dodge. His widespread interests included businesses in Duncan, Phoenix, Douglas, Safford, and Tucson, Az. He also built the Grandfalls Gas Co in TX. Together with the late H L Birney and ... Bassett he founded the Gateway chain of hotels. He was consistently consulted about business ventures of friends and associates. He had been a Mason for 40 years. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Margaret Barns Ritter; three sons, John B, Las Cruses; Robert R., El Paso; and William P, Phoenix Az; A daughter Miss Margaret Ritter, El Paso; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at 4pm in the St Clements Episcopal Church with the Rev William C Wright officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.

RITZ: Edward W., Ritz, 72, a retired carpenter of Chino Mines Division, Kennecott Copper Corp., died last Friday. He was well known throughout the mining district, where he had lived for 38 years. Survivors are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Betty Lewis, Hurley; Mrs. Viola Pegler, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Evelyn Baltzor, Ilo, Peru; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four sisters. RIVERA: Mrs. Mary Torres Rivera, 51, a native of Richmond, Calif., died Saturday at Hillcrest General Hospital in Silver City. She had resided In Silver City 18 months. Survivors of the deceased include her husband, of Silver City, five sons, Eric and Ernest Rivera of Silver City, Daniel Rivera of Ft. Hood, Tex., Raymond and Ronald Rivera of Tucson, Ariz., two daughters, Mrs. Dorlan Harter and Miss Margo Rivera of Silver City: two brothers, Fred Torres of Oakland, Calif., and Joe Torres of Alameda, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Lupe Aguirre and Mrs. Angie Cruz of Oakland. The funeral services were held Tuesday in the chapel of the Curtis Mortuary, with the Rev. James Wayne and the Silver City Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, officiating. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and especially spending time with his sons. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War 11. RIVERA; Frederico B. River,57 died Saturday at his home in Silver City. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estafano G. Also by three brothers, Alex, Iito and Antonio Rivera; four sisters, Mrs. Cruz Garcia, Los Angeles; Mrs. Eddie La Forge, Silver City; Mrs. Merle Christopher, El Paso and Mrs. P. RIVERA: Jose Louis Rivera, 41, died as the result of injuries received in an auto accident west of Albuquerque June 9. He was a resident of Albuquerque and athletic director in the Grants High School. He was a graduate of Western New Mexico University and a veteran of World War 11 survivors include his widow; four Sons, Steven, Jimmy, Gilbert and Louis Jr.; one daughter, Amy; his mother, Mrs. Angela Rivera two brothers Ray and Antonio, two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Sanchez, all of Silver City. Rosary services were held at 7:30 p. m at the Curtis Mortuary Chapel, Thursday June 11, with burial services held at the Ft. Bayard Soldiers Cemetery at 10 am. Friday. Casket bearers were Jim Mocho, Frank Lope, Luke Madrid, Gilbert Acuna, Benny Altamirano and Maurice Aragon.

RIVERA: Lorenzo Rivera, 66, an, El Paso Tex., resident, and World War I veteran, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Fort Bayard. Immediate survivors include a sister, Mrs. Tomasita Torres, and two brothers, Manuel Rivera and Hijinoso Rivera, all of Albuquerque, and another brother, Juan of Presidio, Tex. Burial took place in Calvary cemetery in Albuquerque.

RIVERA: Dolores Pena Rivera, 58, a resident of Silver City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Gila Regional Medical Center. She was a bus driver for Silver City Senior Citizens and was a communicant of the St. Francis Newman Center. She was a member of the Grant County Democratic Women and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Rivera was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Rivera, on March 31, 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Yvette Rivera of Silver City and Delfina Roach of Albuquerque; two sons, Thomas Rivera of the U.S. Army stationed in Alexandria, VA, and Manuel Rivera of Silver City; her mother, Josefina Pena of Long Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Olalla Martinez, Yolanda Hernandez and Julia Figueroa, all of El Monte, Calif., and Dora Swope of Long Beach; one brother, Pete Pena of Albuquerque; and one grandson, James Roach, also of Albuquerque. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 p.m. in the Curtis- Bright Chapel with the Rev. Bill Mayer officiating. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Francis Newman Center, also with Mayer officiating. RIVERA: Emilio Zapata Rivera, 68, a lifelong resident of the Silver City area, entered rest eternal Thursday morning at Gila Regional Medical Center. Mr. Rivera was born Nov. 3, 1926 in Silver City to Matias and Guadalupe Zapata Rivera. In 1945 he entered the Army and he was awarded the Good Conduct and Victory medals for World War II. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the American Legion. He served as shop steward for Mine Mill Local 890. Mr. Rivera worked for the Peru and Asarco mines for many years, was part owner of Silver City Datsun for several years and was the former owner of the Bee hive Bar in Hanover, the Tyrone Lounge, Emilio's Lounge, and the Silver Skillet Restaurant and Lounge. The evening prayer vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at Baca's Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting the rosary. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday morning at ten at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. John Colgan officiating. The rite of committal will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with veteran honors accorded by local veterans groups. RIVERA: Jerry T. Rivera, 78, a resident of Truth or Consequences, died Monday at Sierra Vista Hospital. A former Grant County resident, Mr. Rivera had resided in Sierra County since 1975. He was born July 24, 1912, in Las Palomas, N.M. Mr. Rivera retired as a truck driver from Chino Mines in 1974. Survivors include his wife, Margarita Rivera of Truth or Consequences; a son, Leonardo T. Rivera, also of Truth or Consequences; a daughter, Dolores Brooks of Albuquerque; a brother, Jose Rivera of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There were no services. French Mortuary of Truth or Consequences was in charge of arrangements. RIVERA: Jesus Rivera, 68, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, as a result of an automobile accident in Grant County. Mr. Rivera was born in Riva Palacios, Chihuahua, Mexico and was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. He is survived by his wife, Maria Rivera of Silver City.

RIVERA: Jose C. Rivera, 79, died September 4, at Hillcrest Hospital. Mr. Rivera, a lifelong resident of Torrance County, N.M., was a resident of Encino, N. Mex., at the time of his death. RIVERA: Mrs. Marcolfa M. Rivera, 99, died in Alhambra, Calif., last week. Mrs. Rivera was a native of San Antonio, N.M. She had resided in Alhambra the past 14 years. She is survived by three sons. RIVERA: Ramon (Ray) Rivera, 38, died Sunday, July 16, in Reserve, N.M. Mr. Rivera, a native of Silver City, was employed in Reserve at the time of his death. RIVES: Jack Ivy Rives of Superior, Ariz., passed away suddenly Sunday, May 14, at his home. He was born in Stephenville, Texas, on Jan. 7, 1942, to Barney and Beulah Rives. He graduated from Odessa High School and moved to Bisbee, Ariz., going to work for Phelps Dodge. Later, he worked at Safford, Ariz., and Tyrone. He was a welder. He also worked for Brown and Root, Magma Mine and BHP mine. He was married to Jan in November 1961. Together, they had two children, and later divorced. Mr. Rives loved to be outdoors camping, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Rives of Safford, and Michael Rives, also of Safford. There are two grandchildren and two brothers, B.V. Rives and Herman Rives of Texas. The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association. ROACH: Burton Roach, 66, popular cattleman and ex-member of the New Mexico Legislature, died In Ed Paso Friday evening. Being taken to El Paso from his home in Truth or Consequences, he died about a week later. Doctors reported he died of cancer. Roach served in the New Mexico State Legislature for 14 years. Twelve of those years he spent as head of the Public Lands and Livestock committee. He also served as Democratic whip in the House, Democratic floor leader in the Senate and was Democratic county chairman. Roach operated the HVL ranch and the Ladder Ranch In Sierra County for many' years. In later years, he was engaged in the cattle brokerage business. Surviving are two sons, James P. Roach, Oak Ridge, Tenn., John Roach, Los Alamos; a daughter, Mrs. Alma R. Stevens, Los Alamos; and a sister, Mrs. Alice McKinney Mena, Ark.

ROACH: Joseph Patton Roach, 52, former New Mexico State Police chief, died March 10 in Albuquerque. Roach was assigned as a highway patrolman in Silver city for a number of years, was chief of police at one time in Deming and past president of the New Mexico Sheriffs and Police Officers Association. Roach is survived by his wife, three sons, a daughter and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.

ROACH: Harold M. Roach, 54, died July 20. Mr. Roach had been a Silver City resident for the past six years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Roach of Silver City, and a daughter, Mrs. Payle Kurtz of Austin, Texas. Funeral services were held July 24 in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Hensley officiating. Graveside services were conducted by the Silver City Masonic Lodge No. 8 AF&AM at the Masonic cemetery.

ROACH: Paul Roach, 20, a student at New Mexico State University, was killed last Saturday in a 750-foot plunge down an abandoned mine shaft near Las Cruces, which he and two other students were exploring. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion A. Roach of El Paso, and a graduate of New Mexico Western High School. The accident occurred as Roach was climbing up a rope to the surface after his two companions had preceded him. Within 10 feet of the top, Roach became exhausted lost his grip and dropped to the bottom of the shaft.

ROACH: Charles Lewis Roach, 71, a resident of Mule Creek, entered into rest Thursday at his residence. Mr. Roach was born Aug.16, 1925, in Lovington to William Wallace and Birdie C. Roach. He was a retired ironworker. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and the International Brotherhood of iron Workers. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Roach of Mule Creek, two daughters, Diana Nuttall and her husband. Lynne, of Morenci, Ariz., and Debra Lynn Roach of Tempe, Ariz.; three stepsons, Donn Michael Bradford and his wife, Mariann, of Anaheim, Calif., John Preston Bradford and his wife, Jan, of Aledo, Texas, and David Gary Bradford and his wife Donna, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three brothers, William Roach and his wife Mary, of Hobbs, Eugene Roach and his wife, Mary, of Odessa, Texas, and Carl Lowell Roach and his wife Faye, of El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren, Jason Nuttall of Tucson, Ariz., Brooke Nuttall of Morenci, Taylor and Chris Bradford of Aledo and Nikki Bradford of Scottsdale. ROACHO: Patsy Muñiz Roacho, 44, entered eternal rest Friday at her home in Hurley. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 at the same church with Father Dan Porter officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at the Hurley Cemetery. She was born March 29, 1953, in Santa Rita to Jose Muñiz and Consuelo Armendariz Muñiz. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church and married Luis Roacho on Jan. 8, 1975, in Bayard. She had served as a teacher’s aide in the Cobre School District, which she enjoyed immensely, and worked with special children, and did arts and crafts. Spending quality time with her family and friends was very special to her. Survivors include her husband, Luis Roacho of the home; three sons, Luise Alfredo Roacho Jr. and wife, Alyssa, of El Paso, Texas and Jose Valdemar and Juan Carlos Roacho of Hurley; her parents, Jose and Consuelo Muñiz of Bayard two brothers, Raymundo Muñiz of Silver City, and Theodore Muñiz and wife. Mary, of Hurley; a sister, Christina Guzman of Silver city; nieces, Melissa, Stephany, Jessica and Victoria Muñiz, Valeria Rowland and husband, Kenny and Rosemary Guzman; nephews, Gregory Rowland and Theodore Muñiz Jr.; and several uncles and aunts. ROBBINS: Nathan Hale Robbins, a veteran of World War I, and former resident of Fort Bayard, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital at Albuquerque. Funeral services were held in El Paso Friday at the Maxton Mortuary with burial in the National Cemetery, El Paso. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Robbins, who was a dietician at Fort Bayard for several years.

ROBBINS; Bert Arthur Robbins, died Friday, Jan. 20 in his home at Hurley. He was born in Florence, Kan. Oct. 23, 1894. He married Gladys Steel in 1924. She preceded him in death in 1980. Robbins came to Hurley in 1920 and was hired by Kennecott Copper Corp. as a timekeeper. He retired in Nov. 1959 as Assistant to the General Manager. Robbins was a member of the Hurley Community Church, served on the Hurley School Board 11 years, on the Town Council of Hurley for 16 years, was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Scottish Rite, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and served as Grand Master of NM in 1946. Survivors are a daughter, Mary Anne Cooper of Kearny, Az; a sister, Delilah Martin of Missouri and two grandsons, Russell A. Cooper of Az and Paul A. Cooper of Ca. Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at Curtis Bright Funeral Home. Interment followed at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. ROBBINS: Gladys A. Robbins, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2 at her home in Hurley where she had been a resident since 1923. She was born in Reeds Spring, Missouri, December 16, 1897, the daughter of Howard and Lillian Steel, and subsequently moved with her family to Colorado where she was educated in the Menoken and Montrose school systems. Majoring in music, Mrs. Robbins studied at the Indianapolis Conservatory of Music and the College of Music at Gunnison, Colorado. She was a member of the Hurley Community Church and the Hurley Order of the Eastern Star #43. At the age of 12 Mrs. Robbins began her church work, which continued all her life. She was the organist for Curtis-Bright Funeral Home for 10 years. Mrs. Robbins is survived by her husband, Bert A. Robbins, whom she married in 1923 in Hurley, a daughter, Mary Anne Cooper of Kearny, Arizona, two nieces and two grandsons. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in the Curtis-Bright Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Schultz of the Valley and Hurley Community Churches officiating. Burial followed in Ft. Bayard National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Richard J. Pearson, Howard R. Miller, George P. Abbott, Henry Wallis, William S. Frazier, Henry E. David, Howard Mize and David Strain.

ROBBINS: Leonard A. "Robbie" Robbins, 82, a resident of Fort Bayard Medical Center, died Saturday in San Manuel, Ariz. He resided in Hurley from 1942 until 1988. Mr. Robbins retired as a master mechanic from Chino Mines. He is survived by a son, Jim Robbins of San Manuel; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Hurley Community Church on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Mr. David Strain will conduct the services.

ROBBINS: Myrtle May Robbins, 77, died Saturday morning in the Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1912, in Frankfurt, Ky., was a homemaker, and was a resident of Grant County the last 45 years. A memorial service was held this afternoon at 1 in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels with David Strain officiating. A private committal will be held on a later date. Survivors include her husband, Leonard A. Robbins of Fort Bayard; one son, James A. Robbins of San Manuel, Az.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Robbins' memory to the Heart Foundation. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels with cremation by the Mimbres Crematorium.

ROBBINS: Mrs. Valeve Robbins, respected resident of Pinos Altos, died at her home in that village last Friday after being taken ill the day before. The widow of the late William Leslie Robbins whose death occurred in 1935, Mrs. Robbins had lived in Pinos Altos since 1920. She was a native of Eagleville, Mo. and came here from the Chicago area. The only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Edith Deckard of Pinos Altos. There were no funeral services conducted here. The body was sent to Albuquerque last Monday by Cox Mortuary where cremation took place.

ROBERTS: A. C. Roberts, 79, a former resident of Silver City, died last week at Gallup. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Brewer, Silver City and Mrs. Abie Delefield, Gallup; six grandchildren and four great grand children.

ROBERTS: The Board of Directors of the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau expressed "deep sorrow" over the recent death of Delmar Roberts, president of the state organization from 1947/58. Farm Bureau and the state of New Mexico hove lost a good friend, A. W. "Bill" Langenegger, Farm Bureau president, said. "Delmar Roberts made great contributions to Farm Bureau and to agriculture."

ROBERTS: Graveside services were held at Fort Bayard VA Cemetery on Tuesday for, George C. Roberts, 47, who died at a local, hospital Thursday. A veteran, of WW II, the deceased was employed as a security guard by the Kennecott Copper Corp. Services were conducted by Bishop Joseph Brubaker. Pallbearers were Gayland Williams, Kelly Roberts, Dons Corby, Norval Tow, Calvin Roberts, and Wayne Manning. Arrangements were in charge of Curtis Mortuary. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Judy Roberts, Silver City; three sons, Calvin, with the U.S. Navy in California, Gary and Aaron, Silver City; three brothers, Lee Roberts, Rogers, Ark., Joe Roberts, Seattle, Wash., and Jack Roberts, Silver City; and a sister, Mrs. Opal Priest, Southwest City, Mo.

ROBERTS: Jack M. Roberts, former Grant County resident, died Monday, Sept. 21, in the Veteran's Administration at Tucson following a lengthy illness. He was 58.Survivors include his wife, Margaret and daughter, Judy. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at the time this notice was received here.

ROBERTS: Mrs. Lillie M. Roberts, 72, life-long resident of Silver City passed away last Thursday in Morrisville, Pa., where she had been with her son Marvin Roberts and family, since last February, undergoing medical treatments. Mrs. Roberts was active for many years in the civic and social life of Silver City and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and in recent years had been on the staff of the State Welfare and Employment Office In Grant County, where she had an outstanding record. She retired from this position because of failing health. Besides her son, Marvin, surviving is another son, Col. James G Roberts U. S. Air Force, Santa Barbara, Calif. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Curtis Mortuary chapel, the Rev. James G. Wayne of the First Methodist Church conducting the rites. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, with ritualistic committal by the Eastern Star Chapter.

ROBERTS: Mrs. Mary Becker Roberts, 70, died Monday in a Silver City rest home. She is survived by two sons, Grant Roberts of Silver City and Mstr. Sgt. Walter Roberts, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. David Johns, and Mrs. Vera McConnell Silver City; a sister, Mrs., Hulda Van Jess, Helotes, Tex.; and a brother, Walter Becker, Sari Antonio, Tex. Funeral services were set for this afternoon (Thursday) at the Cox Mortuary chapel at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Carpenter of Glenwood. The body will be taken to Glenwood for internment in the cemetery there.

ROBERTS: Funeral Services for Nadine, infant daughter of Mr. And Mrs. George Clay Roberts, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Cox Mortuary Chapel. The three-week-old baby died Monday, Dec 24 of pneumonia after a brief illness at the Hillcrest General Hospital. The Rev. C. B. Hansford, pastor of the Santa Rita Baptist church, conducted the funeral service. Internment was in the Silver City Cemetery. She is survived in addition to her parents by a brother at home.

ROBERTS: Walter "Bob" Friegen Roberts, 78, longtime area resident, died last Thursday evening in Mimbres Memorial Hospital where he had been since a massive stroke he suffered last Sept. 13. He was born Aug. 8,1903 in Burlington, Wis., the son of a dentist and his mother, the secretary to the mayors of Indianapolis. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in civil engineering. He began his work with the Indiana Highway Commission as an inspector and was with Armored Engineer Battalion while an enlisted man. He came to live in Deming thirty years ago as an employee of New Mexico Highway Department. He was also a resident of Silver City, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Socorro. He belonged to the Eagles, was a charter member of Post #1 of the American Legion in Santa Fe, was a thirty-year member of the Silver City Elks Club and belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose 2088 in Deming. Services were last Saturday in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Piere Gallardo officiated as well as the Loyal Order of the Moose #2088. Burial at the Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City with graveside services conducted by the Luna County United Veterans. He is survived by a sister, Margaret (Peg) Walters, Tarpon Springs, FL; four cousins, Francis Elliott, Flossmoor, IL, Ambrose Elliott Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio, June Oaks, Los Angeles, Calif., and Fred Ashley, Indianapolis, Ind. Pallbearers were members of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #2088 of Deming. Honorary bearers were Leland Doty, Howard Nix, John Smith and his fellow Lodge Brothers of the Eagles, Elks and Moose. The Wheeler Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

ROBERTS: A. Marvin Roberts, Sr., 79, of Morrisville, Pa., a retired mathematics teacher, died Sept. 5 at St. Mary Hospital in Langhorne, Pa. Mr. Roberts was born in Silver City and graduated from Silver High in 1931. He received his bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University in 1938 and earned a master's degree in mathematics from the University of New Mexico in 1940. After teaching for two years in New Mexico, he enlisted in the Navy during World War II. He saw action in the Pacific on the carrier USS Kasson Bay as a communications specialist concentrating on breaking enemy codes. He attained the rank of lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserves, in which he served for 30 years. Mr. Roberts lived in the Philadelphia area for 15 years before moving to Morrisville 33 years ago. He taught mathematics in the Pennsbury School District for eight years before retiring in 1978.In addition to his wife, Mr. Roberts is survived by a son, A. Marvin Roberts Jr.; a daughter, Anne; and two grandchildren. A memorial mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 9 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lower Makefield Township. Interment was private.

ROBERTS: Mrs. Arneille Roberts died last week at her home in Santa Fe. Mrs. Roberts was a native of Silver City, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvan White, pioneer residents of Silver City. She received her early education in local schools. After her marriage, she moved to Santa Fe. She was associated with the Santa Fe Public Library until her retirement a few years ago. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Santa Fe chapter of the D.A.R., and a Santa Fe Chapter of P.E.O. She is survived by one son, Joseph A. Roberts, and one daughter, Dolona Roberts, both of Santa Fe, and two grandchildren. Survivors also include one brother, Athington White of Silver City; one niece and three nephews. Funeral serves were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Berardinelli Funeral Home in Santa Fe. Graveside services were conducted at the Masonic Cemetery in Silver City, Monday with interment following in the family plot there. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Silver City Public Library.

ROBERTS: Col. James J. Roberts, retired from the Air Force, died Nov. 29 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Silver City in 1910 and was the son of James J. and Lillie Roberts. He attended public school and withdrew from State Teachers College in 1932 to enter the Air Force as a cadet at Randolph Field, Texas. He served his country in many capacities before, during and after World War II. In the early 1960s, he retired and he and his wife, Rozella, took up residence in Santa Barbara, Calif., where they lived since then. Col. Roberts is survived by his wife, Rozella; a son, Lt. Col. Douglas Roberts of Springfield, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Tina; two grandchildren, Jason and Darcy; and his brother, Marvin, of Morrisville, Pa.

ROBERTS: Joseph G. Roberts, 83, a resident of Rodeo, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 22, 1912 in Weatherford, Okla. Mr. Roberts served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942-45 and attained the rank of technical sergeant while serving as an aircraft sheet metal worker. He was a self-employed appliance repairman. He is survived by his daughters, Sandy Valencour and her husband, Tom of Auburn, Wash., and Jolene Roberts of Phoenix; his brother, Lee Roberts of La Luz; his five grandchildren, Forrest Joseph and Jena Marie Wagner, and Craig, Tammy and Jennifer Hagnes; and several nieces and nephews. At his request, cremation has taken place with Mimbres Crematorium and a memorial service with veteran’s honors will be held at two in the afternoon Wednesday at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels and Mimbres Crematorium.

ROBERTS: Daisy, age 85, died Sunday in Fort Bayard Medical Center. She was born in Oklahoma Territory on Oct. 25, 1900 Ed and Myrtle Weathers. She had been a resident of New Mexico since 1936. Preceding her in death were her oldest son, Jeff W. Morris, who died while he was a prisoner of war following the surrender of Bataan and Corrigador in the Philippine Islands during World War II; and her granddaughter, Linda Carol Morris, who died in a fire at age 3. She is survived by two sons, C.N. Morris and his wife Esther of Silver City; and Everett M. Morris and his wife Bernadine of Colorado Springs, Colo; nine grandchildren, Freddie Eugene Morris of Silver City, Jeff W. Morris II, Arkansas City, Kan, Keith Morris, Anchorage, Alaska, Charles N. Morris II, Hobbs, Maxie Morris, San Diego, Calif, Ritanella Davis, Hobbs, Joseph Morris, Houston, Texas, Bobby Dale Morris, Colorado Springs; and by 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Lillie Simon of Junction, Texas. She was a Gold Star Mother and a charter member of the Bataan Veterans Organization. Funeral services will be conducted by West Funeral Home in Carlsbad. She will be laid to rest beside her granddaughter, Lina Carol at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

ROBERTS: Emma Kelly Roberts, 85, of Silver City passed away at her home. Mrs. Roberts was born Jan. 22, 1907, in Monticello, N.M., to John and Maria {Tofoya} Kelly. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family. She also enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Roberts is survived by three sons, Russell and Howard Roberts, both of Silver City, and Grant Roberts of Glenwood; a stepson, Earl, of Albuquerque; a stepdaughter, Eleanor, of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Esias, of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Maje" Roberts, in 1981; a grandson, Rex William, in 1977, and a great-grandson, J.D. Reed. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery. The Rev. John C. Snyder will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Dannible's Chapel of the Roses, U.S. 180 East, Silver City, this evening from 5 until 7. Pallbearers will be members of her loving family. Honorary pallbearers will by all of Mrs. Roberts' friends. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Roberts may be made to the Gila Regional Medical Center Hospice Foundation; Silver City, N.M. ROBERTS: Frank C. Roberts, 70, died Tuesday in El Paso. Mr. Roberts was born Feb. 21, 1912 in Salt Lake City, the son of Frank T. and Catherine Clamer Roberts and had resided in Silver City for the past 17 years. He was employed as a mining engineer with Kennecott Copper until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of AIME and one of the founders of the Yucca Tennis Club. He was an active member of the Rolling Stones Rock and Mineral Club and a past president. Roberts is survived by his wife Doris Roberts of Silver City; a son, Mark Roberts of Tucson; a daughter, Annette Roberts Hunt of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; a sister, Catherine "Kay" Bezzerides of Pinedale, Calif. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 22 at Memory Lane with the Rev. David Saucier of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements by Curtis-Bright Funeral Home.

ROBERTS: Micki Ray Roberts, 40, died Thursday morning in Silver City. She was born in Silver City and had lived here for the past three years. Micki is survived by one daughter, Dana Roberts, one son, Lane Roberts, one sister, Jamie Flick, all of Alamogordo, NM, her mother, Louise Dean of Silver City, one niece and one grandchild, also of Alamogordo, NM. Graveside services were held Saturday with the Rev. Richmeyer officiating. Interment followed at the Masonic Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wheeler Funeral Home of Silver City.

ROBERTS: William M. Roberts was born in Alma, N.M. on October 29,1896. He died July 2, 1981 at the Fort Bayard Medical Center. Mr. Roberts spent most of his life in Glenwood, N.M., where he owned and operated a cattle ranch on which he raised his family. He served in the army during the First World War. After that he was a truck driver for Roy Henry Truck Lines carrying goods to the mining town of Mogollon. From 1927 to 1939 he owned and operated the Glenwood Garage, where he earned the reputation of a well-respected Master Mechanic. He also built lines and provided electric service for Glenwood. He sold the electric business to Navepache Electric in 1949. He worked for the NM State Highway until retirement in 1960. He continued to run the cattle ranch until 1974. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Emma K.; four sons, Earl of Albuquerque, Russell of Silver City, Grant of Glenwood and Howard of Deming; one daughter, Eleanor Beers of Tucson, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts would have been married 56 years on Sunday, July 5. Graveside services were in Glenwood Community Cemetery, Monday, July 6 at 2 p.m.

ROBERTSON: Edward Ira 'Curley" Robertson, 97, of Hurley passed away Tuesday, March 24, at Gila Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday in Calvary Cemetery in Douglas, Ariz., with Mr. Steve Brannan and Mr. Duane Springer officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Douglas. Mr. Robertson was born March 13, 1901, in Belton, Texas, the son of Ira Harmon Robertson and Mattie B. Olive Robertson. He married Grace Ellen McClintock in 1935. Mr. Robertson is survived by one son, Richard Robertson, and his wife, Annitta, of Hurley; a daughter, Sylvia Wozlek of Huachuca, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Jon Robertson and his wife, Cheryl, of Los Lunas, Stephen Robertson and his wife, Lori, of Odessa, Texas, Yvonna Blunk and her husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, Nev., John Woodward Jr. of Washington, Lorna Szewczyk of Illinois, and Teresa Pate and Julie Wooodward, both of Washington; eight great-grandchildren, Ricky and Danielle Robertson of Los Lunas, Richard and Donald Blunk of Las Vegas, Jena and Jesse Szewczyk of Illinois, and Alison and Carly Pate of Washington; three great-great-grandchildren,. A.J. and Shelby Blunk of Las Vegas, and Danny Blunk, also of Las Vegas; and one nephew, Arthur Porter, and his wife, Lillie, of Douglas. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, John Woodward; one grandson, Adam Woziek Jr.; one brother, John Harmon Robertson; and one sister, Mary Jane Coleman. Mr. Robertson and his parents moved to Rio Hondo, Texas where he worked on the family farm until 1917, when he enlisted in the 16th Cavalry Quartermaster Corps during World War I. He served his country on the U.S.Mexican border until his military discharge in 1922 at Camp Harry J. Jones in Douglas He then became a structural ironworker, doing construction work around the Southwestern United States. H was an active member of International Iron Workers ion Local No. 75 from March 1926 until his death He was known by all in his trade as a hard worker and very strong man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his grandchildren. Mr. Robertson was a resident of Douglas until 1980 when he moved to Hurley. He was Christian and a member of the Bayard Church of Christ Bright Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

ROBERTSON: James J. Robertson, 61, died Thursday, June 11, after a brief illness. Robertson was the owner of J. J. Robertson Sheet Metal and Heating Company and had been a prominent local contractor for the past 26 years after taking over his father's business a number of years before. He was born in Silver City where he attended school and later was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati at Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katie Robertson of Silver City: two daughters, Mrs. Walt Langendorf, Jr., of Silver City and Mrs. Frederick King of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Hershey, and Mrs. David Price of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. High Gardner of Las Cruces and Mrs. Walter Graves of Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Curtis Mortuary Chapel at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Alfred Pace of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in Memory Lane Cemetery with the Silver City Elks Lodge in charge of the services.

ROBERTSON: John Robertson, former resident of Silver City, died in the Morenci hospital, Thursday, May 13. He was connected with the late Joe A. Turner in the Standard Dairy when he lived here. He is survived by his wife, the former Mamie Turner daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Turner. Funeral services will be held in Morenci.

ROBERTSON: Visitation for Kenneth Michael Robertson, 50, of Lordsburg will be at 9 a.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter- day Saints. Services will be there at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery under direction of Lordsburg Funeral Home. Robertson died Sunday at Fort Bayard Medical Center. Survivors include his mother Olive Ann Robertson of Lordsburg, and sister Janis.

ROBERTSON: Carmi E. Robertson, 87, died Friday at Hillcrest General Hospital. Mr. Robertson was born in Crawford County, Indiana, and lived in Grant County since 1925. He was a resident of Central at the time of his death. He was a retired civil engineer for the federal government and had worked at Fort Bayard. Mr. Robertson was a member of the reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a WWI veteran, a member of the Bayard V.F.W., and the American Legion. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nadine Cox of Silver City, one son, John Robertson of Central, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside funeral services were Tuesday morning at Memory Lane Cemetery with David Strain and the Am. Legion Post #18 officiating. Pallbearers were Brub B. Stone, Lester Patterson, Gene Adkins, Earl Kane, Scott Robertson and Richard Benjamin. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. The services were under the direction of Curtis-Bright Funeral Home.

ROBERTSON: Death the past week in an Albuquerque hospital claimed Mrs. Catherine Robertson, a former resident of Bayard. She had been ill for some time. Her sister, Mrs. Emma Davis, Bayard, was with her when she passed away. Besides the sister at Bayard, Mrs. Robertson is survived by a brother, Charles L. Muchlig and a sister Mrs. Joe Gonzales, Albuquerque; two nephews H. G. Muchlig; Oakland, Calif. and, Henry. Davis Hurley. Funeral services were held in Albuquerque and burial in the Sunset memorial cemetery.

ROBERTSON: Glenn Robertson, 83, passed away Sunday at his home in Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret, in 1973; his son, Leo, in 1975; and by his brother, Robert Robertson of Hurley. He is survived by his wife, Helen Robertson of Tucson; a daughter, Clara Edwards of Tucson; a son, Judd Lawrence Robertson of Guam; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren of Tucson; two sisters, Margaret Ybarra and Lilly Polanco of Silver City; a brother, James L. Robertson Jr. of Silver City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are pending.
