Hardwick Township Historical Society

Meetings: On the second Friday of each month from April through
December. The meetings are held in the township municipal building, 40
Spring Valley Rd., Hardwick, at 7:30 p.m. A program is usually
featured relating to historical subjects. The society has two projects
- the preservation of the old Spring Valley Christian Church and
Cemetery and the preservation of the historic Vass Farmstead in
Hardwick.

Shippen Manor Museum

Visit a 1754 stone mansion associated with Oxford Furnace, New
Jersey's longest running colonial ironworks. Both sites are on the
National Register. Tours feature colonial and Victorian rooms,
costumed docents, period music, open hearth cooking. The museum is
open 1-4 p.m. the first and Second Sunday of each month, except
holiday weekends. Midweek scout, school and group tours by
appointment.

Harmony Township Historic Preservation
The Historic Preservation Commission of the Harmony Township meetings begin at 6:15 p.m. every second Monday of the month at the Harmony Township Municipal Building. The Marx Room of Local
History has many genealogy books and information including local
municipal and county histories, 25 shelves of family histories, 3 file
drawers of family folders, local history and photographs, church

abstracts of wills in County Courthouse (1752-1840), civil war
records, revolutionary and early colonial histories, PA and NJ
archives series, 74 of 86 newspapers published in Easton from 1793 to
