- 4th Grade -- Blawnox School, Blawnox, PA
(This photo of the Blawnox School
(formerly on Center Street) was purchased off of eBay. The only person
I can identify is the teacher, Miss Graham (center in back), who
according to school records only taught there for two years. The photo
is a good example of a classroom lit by gaslight. It's very rare to
find interior photos of school classes which are invariably shot
outdoors. The photo is dated November 11, 1923. This school was
replaced by another built further up the hill in 1925.
