Jesse Reynolds OAKLEY born ca.1785 in New York.  (According to family
history, Jesse may have been born in Holland.)  Jesse Oakley appears on the
1820, 1840, 1850 and 1860 New Sewickley, Beaver Co., Pennsylvania censuses.

1840 Census, New Sewickley Twp., Beaver Co., PA, lists Jesse R. Oakley – 1
male of 10 – 15 years of age; 2 males 5 – 20; 1 male 50 – 60 [Jesse]; 2
females 10 – 15; 1 female 15 – 20; and 1 female 40 – 50 years of age [Nancy.]

1850 census – Beaver Co., PA, New Sewickley Twp., page 326, #312/325

Mary 28 yrs. old; William age 5 yrs; Albert 1 year old, and Jesse R. 1/12;
and Amos Romigle aged 20 farmhand.]

Possible children of Jesse R. and Nancy:  William, Albert G. and John (J.Q.A.).

Jesse R. died after 1860, probably in Beaver Co., Pennsylvania.

Albert Gallatin OAKLEY was born near Pittsburgh, PA on February 8, 1824, and
died on March 19, 1904 and is buried at Bayne Cemetery, Quail Ave., Bellevue,
PA.  He was the son of Jesse Reynolds Oakley from New York or Holland.

Albert G. married:  Mary Ann Wolfe, also a native of Pennsylvania, who was
born on January 20, 1827, and died on February 23, 1909 and is buried beside
her husband.

There is another Oakley – William, age 29 - living in Duqusne Borough,
Allegheny Co., also at page #291 - #64/65.  Many Oakleys live in Luzerne and
Susquehanna Counties, PA.

Albert G. “was a building contractor.  He built one of the wings of the
Dixmont Hospital and other landmarks of the Pittsburgh section, where his
activities centered for many years.  During the Civil War, he served for six
months in the Quartermaster Department of the Union Army at Nashville,
Tennessee.  Originally a Whig, he became one of the first signers of the
Republican party in Pennsylvania.”

John G. MEYERS/Myers “was born in Leipzig, Germany, March 26, 1835, and died
in 1903, came to the United States in early life and settled in Pittsburgh,
where he followed the shoemaker’s trade, learned before he left his native
land.”  He married Frederica Holman.

Fredericka HOLMAN who was born in Leipzig, Germany, on September 18, 1834,
and first met her future husband there.  After he came to the United States,
she followed him within a short time and they were married in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Myers died in 1918.”

“Mrs. Fredericka Meyers, aged 74, widow of John G. Meyers, died yesterday in
her home, 100 Sweetbriar St., Duquesne Heights.  She was born in Germany and
was an early settler of the South Hills District, having resided there for
30[?] years.  She was a member of the Duquesne Heights Methodist Episcopal
Church and Sunday School.  One son, Will D. Meyers, at home, three daughters,
Mrs. A. C. Oakley of Pittsburg, Mrs. Milo[?] McCallister of Eries, and Mrs.
Millie Rodenbaugh at home.  14 grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.”
