Searching for researchers of SMITH and BIRD families. WILLIAM S. SMITH born October 22 1834 New Jersey, died July 13, 1906 in Rankin Illinois. ELMIRA (BIRD) SMITH born March 5th 1838 New Jersey, died March 11th 1917 in Rankin Illinois. They were married in New Jersey (not sure of date) and had the following children, all born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey: Charles S. born September 9, 1861: James C. born April 20, 1863; Harry born September 16, 1864; Helen (SMITH) MARSHALL born November 11, 1868 and Ernest A. born August 24, 1876.
