Hunterdon County Query

Surname: COUGLE

JAMES C. COUGLE SR. was born in 1817, I know not where. He marries, I know not where, yet I know when, to Hope Petty on 2/19/1853. She dies in early
childbirth, I know not when, and James remarries a woman named Ruth. Again, I know not where or when Ruth was born or when she died. James later passes on in
1889, I know not where.

EDWARD COUGLE, I do not know when or where he was born. He marries Rosalia Rosenberger-Cougle 10/23/1880, possibly in PA. They in turn have four
children, whose names are, Harry, James, Elizabeth, and Lillian. So, as life was being lived and Edward and Rosalia were having children, Edward also made a
living running a grocery store with his brother JAMES C. COUGLE SR. Here is where things begin to matter.

These two brothers ran the grocery store, which was handed down to them by their father. They named the store Cougle Bros in Bloomsbury, NJ, Hunterdon County.
When JAMES C. COUGLE SR. passed on, the store was renamed to Edward Cougle & Sons. Edward with his sons Harry and James ran the store until their father Edward passed away. When Edward passed away, the store once again reclaims its original name of the Cougle Bros. And, when my grandfather, James C. Cougle Jr. then passes on, Harry ran the store until he was too old to run it anymore. He finally sold it probably sometime before he finally passed away in 1939 at the
age of 57.

My was born 10/16/1886 in Bloomsbury, NJ, HUNTERDON COUNTY, and died early in life from of all things an ear infection at the age of 44. He marries
my grandmother, I don't know where, but her name was Susan Miller Teats-Cougle. She passed on in 1973.
