Hunterdon County New Jersey Queries

HUGHES
Looking for information to fill in the gaps of the family of William HUGHES (1840 census, Raritan Township) or William HUES (1850 census, Raritan Township) assumed to be one and the same. He was born Mar. 17, 1808 in England, arrived USA through Philadelphia c. 1830. He was "Boot & Shoe Manufacturer" on Main St. in Flemington from 1833 (Advertisement in Hunterdon Gazette) until death: Oct. 14, 1890. His wife: Eleanor Barwell: b. Nov. 19, 1800 and married 1827 in England; died Dec. 20, 1886. Both in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington. One son: Arthur HUGHES: b. Oct. 2, 1835; d. Dec. 6, 1903 lived entire life and was Wheelwright in Flemington. Other children (per 1850 census) may have been: Egsoline (sp. ?) Ann E., others????? Arthur married Susan Stires (see separate Surname listing): children: Annie A., b. Oct. 14, 1860, married?, d. Aug. 5, 1927 (all Flemington); George C., b. June 16, 1862, d. Dec. 16, 1938 (Stroudsburg, PA); William C., b. Aug. 14, 1866, d. July 15, 1922 (Flemington but worked in NY City), Lester B., b. Feb. 6, 1870, d. May 25, 1937 (Stroudsburg, PA); and Bertha C., b. Sept. 25, 1872, d. Jan. 21, 1958 (Flemington), she married William Rudolph Hartman, who were my grandparents.
