BOWLBY
I am looking for the names of William BOWLBY, SR's parents. I have his obit. He is listed as a Hampton Pioneer. He was an honorary member of the G.A.R. post there and was usually chief marshal of the parade ( I assume they mean the Memorial Day Parade). He was born April 3, 1820. He died shortly after his 90th birthday (Approx. 1910). His children are listed as the following: Mrs. Lee Ridenbough of Ludlow, Richard of Rowlands Mills, Samuel, Peter, and William H. of Hampton. Peter is my great great grandfather. I am also wondering if anyone out there knows what G.A.R. stands for. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
