VANCAMPEN
Looking for information on the William VAN CAMP in the 1820 Hunterdon Co. NJ census in the Alexandria Twp. My 2-gr grandfather was John VANCAMPEN, b. 1815 in NJ, married Permelia PRALL, b. 1814 in Washington Co. PA. They were in Zanesville, Muskingum Co. OH in 1840 and in Clark Co. IN by 1846. John VANCAMPEN died about 1865 in Clark Co. IN. I suspect that his father was a William VAN CAMP or VANCAMPEN because his first child (a boy) was named William W. VANCAMPEN. This family kept the VANCAMPEN name, but could have been called VAN CAMP in 1820. If anyone is researching this family, please let me know.
