LINNS/LYNNS
Oral tradition in the Linn/Lynn family states that Grahams and LINNS/LYNNS had lived near the Musconetcong River from 1725 to the late 1730s. The Linns/Lynns and Grahams may have known families of Van Buskirk and Hoagland. The Linns/Lynns and Grahams had settled West Jersey after leaving Massachusetts. By 1740, all these families had branches that migrated to the area around Philadelphia. By 1748, branches of all four families settled near Hancock, MD and northeastward into Franklin Co., PA. I would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help guide my pre- 1740 research path in Hunterdon Co. looking for deeds, etc. The Grahams and Linns/Lynns sailed in 1700/1 from Dublin (possibly via London) and were among Scots who had settled Northern Ireland.
