William and James HAZLITT, sons of Robert HAZELIT/HAZLITT of Sussex Co., NJ, both lived in Hunterdon Co., NJ

William HAZLITT was born 15 Oct 1738 and died 12 Sep 1816. His wife was Mary. They lived in Lebanon Twp. and had a large family, including John and Ann. He mentioned his living children in his will (Hunterdon Co. Wills 2806 J). His daughter, Ann, was the wife of Morris FRITTS. William died on 12 Sep 1816. He, wife Mary, and son John are buried in the Mansfield Woodhouse Burying Ground in Sussex Co., NJ, where his father is buried. William raised a company of militia in the Revolution 1775.

James HAZLITT was born 8 Jul 1745 and died 1795. On 12 Nov 1771, he married Catherine, d aughter of Christian and Catherine CUMMINS. James and his brother, Samuel, inherited the 300 acre of their father in 1774. On 25 Apr 1785, they sold the property to Henry STRADER Greenwich Twp., for 814 pounds Proclamation Monies of New Jersey. The deed was not recorded until 19 Sep 1833. James died in Lebanon Twp., where his will was admitted to probate 14 Sep 1795 (Hunterdon Co. Will 36, p. 158)

I am seeking descendants of William HAZLITT who may be the father of William HAZLET/HAZLETT of Frederick, MD and the grandfather of Reuben HAZLETT of Butler Co. PA., my forebears.
