Looking for information pertaining to Joshua Barnes ALLEN m. Elisabeth BARNES. Last name of Elisabeth is in question but general agreemtent among several researchers is that BARNES is correct. Joshua ALLEN b. c1728, Hunterdon Co.,NJ was the son of William ALLEN.

Joshua ALLEN and Elisabeth had at least three children. No others are known or have been seen listed by other researchers. The children were:
Sarah ALLEN m. Aaron SMITH at Winchester, VA
Elisabeth ALLEN m. Solomon Townsend
J. Barnes ALLEN (apparently Jr.) m. Eve SWIGER at Harrison Co.,VA

Joshua ALLEN and family left NJ and moved briefly to eastern PA and then to Apple Pie Ridge, Winchester, VA. While in Winchester spouse Elisabeth ALLEN died and daughter Sarah ALLEN married. From here we find Joshua ALLEN and Barnes ALLEN traveling to Pittsburgh and then into the headwaters area of the Monogahela River (Harrison County, VA area).
