HOWELL
Hugh HOWELL emigrated from from Hunterdon County, NJ to Loudon Co., VA, where he died in the spring of 1777. He married Margaret _______ before 1745, probably in New Jersey. She was born before 1730. A Howell file in the Hunterdon County Historical Society , Flemington, contains some very specific conclusions about Hugh HOWELL, his wife, and his brother. According to this file an older Hugh HOWELL was born 17 apr 1659 in Wales, and he emigrated to America in 1699. He supposedly died 14 Sep 1745 in Sessex Co., NJ. He is said to be the father of Hugh HOWELL born 1720. The younger Hugh HOWELL allegedly married a Margaret HIXON and died years later in 1777.

But the files do not include the documentation or the verification to support the conclusions that had been made by the earlier researcher.
