This cemetery lies in the Everittstown United Methodist Churchyard at the intersection of Route 513 and Route 519 in Alexandria Township. The photograph shown above is the oldest headstone that can be found at this burial ground. It is hewn out of rough stone, and embedded into the ground. The transcription reads "Here lies the body of Cathrina Schlautn, died 19th March 1762". (I believe the "Americanized" version of this surname is SLOUT.) Apparently, the stone was set at this location long before the organization of the Everittstown United Methodist Church which took place in 1817. (Special thanks to Mr. Bill Mennel for the translation.)
