Following please find documents entitled Dacre and Scrope. These documents have to do with the Graham family of the Anglo-Scot border. Many of the Reiver families located or were relocated to counties within Ulster, and some ended up in counties located in Connaught.
These documents are kindly provided by Robert Graham who's email address is [email protected]
These pages came from an old book which we will credit as soon as we learn the name of the book, and the name/date of the author. We hope you find some cousins herein.
One can read more about the infamous Lords Dacre and Scrope at http://www.boltoncastle.co.uk/history.p2.htm , and in the book entitled "Steel Bonnets." It is interesting that the author painted Lord Dacre himself as a sometimes reiver, so it appears that he played both sides against the middle, without getting hanged.
Below please find old maps of the Anglo-Scot border which labels areas where several Reiver families lived for hundreds of years before the union of the crowns.
