These pages are the beginning of an attempt to document Northwood's contribution to the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865.  Northwood men served in many of the  18 infantry regiments, two cavalry regiments, artillery units and sharpshooter units that  New Hampshire sent to war.  After the war Northwood was home to the Charles H. Hoitt Post #69 of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR).

Here you'll find lists of men who enlisted from Northwood, or who enlisted elsewhere and are buried in Northwood, or who were buried on the field of battle and are memorialized here.
