London is small town jewel in West Central New Hampshire. Nicely situated midway
between Concord New Hampshire's Capital on the South - Hanover home of
Dartmouth college to the North - & Claremont to the West, New London can
draw from the facilities in each of these larger communities, yet still retain
the small town atmosphere it covets.
The Gazebo in the middle of
the Town Green is a symbol of that era long gone by, when Band Concerts
and the Town green were the town's social meeting place. But even today
band concerts are still held on Friday evenings.
New London
is also the home of Colby Sawyer college. The town, up until now, has
avoided the urban sprawl of its neighbors. But New London can no longer
be termed an undiscovered treasure. In recent years housing developments
are altering the simple, laid back, life-style and country atmosphere,
as more and folks discover its charm, beauty, and its natural assets.
