The York County Historical Association is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1967. It is funded by the residents of York County through a small mill levy, along with donations, book sales, and membership dues. The association maintains an archival library in York, which is open to the public at no cost. Membership is not required to use the library's materials.
The association's offices are maintained by volunteers — there are no paid staff members. The office hours are limited to give the volunteers the flexibility to walk cemeteries, work with local schools, give public presentations, do outside research, attend classes on preservation techniques, etc...and still find time to be with their families, and work during the day.
The volunteers will gladly guide you to materials that may help you in your research of York County and its people.
