Look-ups are done on a first come-first serve basis. Requests must be specific; for example, do not request "everything you have" on the John Doe family. Some items (books, maps, obituaries, etc) have a set fee for the cost and postage. You may incur a small fee for photocopies and postage for other requests.

Driving Instructions

If you are coming from downtown York
  • Go north on Grant Avenue (a one-way street going north). Stay in the left lane. The lane ends at 11th Street and you are forced back to Lincoln Avenue — just follow the double turns so you continue north.
  • Go through the underpass and continue north on Lincoln Avenue until you have passed the hospital and the Forest Heights apartment complex. Both will be on your right.
  • Make a right turn (east) on 4-H Road or 25th Street which are immediately after the Forest Heights apartment complex.
  • Turn right (south) at Nebraska Avenue.
  • Our office is the second metal building on the west side of the street, and there is a sign on the side of the building.

Note: an alternative from downtown is to go north on Nebraska Avenue until you reach our office. Nebraska Avenue is one block east of the courthouse.
If you are coming via Interstate 80, or on Highway 81 heading north into York
  • When you exit Interstate 80 at York (exit 353), you will be on Highway 81.
  • Go north on Highway 81 towards York. If you are coming straight to our office, it will be easier if you remain on Highway 81 and do not go through downtown York.
  • Turn east at the West 25th Street exit on Highway 81 — the same exit as the city airport, but the opposite direction of the airport. This exit is about 5 miles north of the I-80 exit.
  • Continue east until you reach the stop sign. This will be about a mile.
  • After stopping, continue east one more block to Nebraska Avenue.
  • Turn south (right) on Nebraska Avenue.
  • Our office is the second metal building on the west side of the street, and there is a sign on the side of the building.
If you are heading south into York via Highway 81 (coming from Benedict)
  • Turn east at the West 25th Street exit on Highway 81 — the same exit as the city airport, but the opposite direction of the airport.
If you are heading into York via Highway 34, from the east (coming from Waco)
  • You will see an exit for York prior to reaching Highway 81. It will be the first intersection after Faller Landscaping. It's commonly called the "Y" as that intersection looks like a letter Y. Turn south (left).
  • Go to 25th Street, which is the corner south of the Hearthstone Nursing Home.
  • Turn east (left) on 25th Street, and go one block to Nebraska Avenue.
  • Turn south (right) on Nebraska Avenue.
  • Our office is the second metal building on the west side of the street, and there is a sign on the side of the building.
If you are heading into York via Highway 34, from the the west (coming from Bradshaw)
  • There will be a stop sign at the junction of Highway 34 and Highway 81.
  • Continue east (towards York) until you reach the next stop sign, which is about a mile.
  • After stopping, continue east one more block to Nebraska Avenue.
  • Turn south (right) on Nebraska Avenue.
