about giving one of the club officers an idea for a club meeting. What would you like to see covered in a meeting. Do you have some genealogical data that would be of general interest to others?

We sometimes say they, when in reality, they and them is you and me, because it is our club that needs our help. And nobody cares if you can't spell button, it's trying that will help.

HOPEWELL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Near Unadilla, NE (1874) Otoe County

In 1869 Rev. Alanson T. WOOD came to Nebraska commissioned by the Home Mission Board. He began preaching at Helena where a church was built which was the fore-runner of the present Hopewell Presbyterian Church, located about seven miles south of Unadilla. This church was organized by Rev. NC. ROBINSON, District Missionary, on June 13, 1874 . . . On Sunday evening, March 23, 113, both church and manse were completely destroyed by a cyclone. Rev. O.J. HANMANT. L L sustained some painful bruises and narrowly escaped death. The little folk. . . pledged sufficient funds to build another church edifice and manse. Mrs. Marlan CAMERON, a charter member, and her four sons were the prim movers in bringing the new buildings to their completion. . . The new church was dedicated in June 1914 by Rev. Thomas K. HUNTER, D.D., and Rev. Julius F. SCHWARZ, D.D. . . Mother CAMERON was the last surviving charter member present at the dedication. 1 1 (sic) She was born May 6, 1833 and died Feb. 18, 1920. Her son's Duncan and John and C.A. PARKER constitute the present (1924) Session.
