Future Site of a New Agricultural Building

Materials Scheduled for March Delivery
Ground Breaking Date to be Announced

This historical museum building was acquired in 2002 and displays items that were once stored in 5 locations with no public access. The large adjacent Agricultural Building opened in May, 2010. In 2016, the historical society was able to purchase property across the street. An additonal Agricultural Building will be constructed on this site in the near future. Plans are for it to be more that just a big warehouse of vintage equipment. Visit our museum often to see newly acquired artifacts. Our helpful volunteer staff is very willing to answer questions about the displays in the museum and Richardson County history.

We were pleased to have David Flatt, executive director of the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum in Nebraska City speak at our Annual Meeting in August. His presentation was on the relationship between windmill factories in the United States and World Wars I and II. Mr. Flatt talked about the impact of war on several factories and the adaptations and contributions each made to the war effort, not necessarily producing windmills.
David Flatt - Annual Meeting 2018 Speaker

The Richardson County Historical Society had a float in Falls City's Cobblestone Parade in August. Following the Beach Bash theme of the parade, this float depicted early 20th century swimwear and the popular Crystal Beach which was in present day Stanton Lake Park.
