TEKAMAH, Neb. -- Esther Rogers LEE, 95, formerly of Tekamah, passed 
away Nov. 2, 2007 in Oakland, Neb. Services Nov. 6, 2007 at Pelan Funeral 
Home in Tekamah, NE. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur, Neb. 
Esther Rogers Lee was born Aug. 15, 1912, at Kadoka, S.D., to Harry O. 
French and Pearl (Trimble) French. In 1927, she married Charles F. Rogers 
of Decatur. They had three children. Preceded in death by her husbands; 
two sisters, Fern Harmon and Evelyn Underwood; two brothers, Orville 
and Bryon French; and a grandson, Gerald Pond Jr.

LAUREL, Neb. -- Larry C. APKING, 64, of Laurel passed away Nov. 1, 2007.
Memorial services will be held in the spring of 2008. His 64th birthday was
on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. Survived by his mother, Sonja A.M. Apking of 
Laurel; a daughter, Lisa (Mike) Clise of Wooderville, Wash.; sisters, Claire 
(John) Leger of Las Vegas, Nev., and Elaine (Harry) Linn of Fort Payne, Ala.; 
a brother, Perry (Lila) Apking of Lee Summit, Mo.; a grandson, Joshua Clise; 
four nieces and six nephews; and many golfing buddies, family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Clarence A. Apking; and his grandparents, 
Henry and Carrie Apking and Nels and Tonetta Nielsen.

WALTHILL, Neb. -- Ellen P. BEAUDETTE, 88, of Emerson, Neb., formerly of 
Walthill, died Nov. 5, 2007 in Pender, Neb. Services at Trinity Lutheran 
Church in Walthill. Burial in Bancroft Cemetery, Bancroft, Neb. Arr. are 
under the direction of Bressler-Munderloh Funeral Home in Walthill. 

OAKLAND, Neb. -- Pernilla E. JENSEN, 97, of Oakland, formerly of Omaha, 
died Nov. 6, 2007. Services were at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in 
Oakland. Burial in Oakland Cemetery. 

WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- Robert Glenn "Bob" BERNS, 82, of Wakefield died 
Nov. 11, 2007, at his residence. Memorial services will be Nov 15, 2007 
at Wakefield Presbyterian Church. Masonic service at 7 p.m., at 
Thompson Chapel in Wakefield. 

WAYNE, Neb. -- Gordon "Jug" JORGENSEN, 83, of Wayne died 
Nov. 11, 2007, at his residence. Services on Nov. 14, 2007 at Our Savior 
Lutheran Church in Wayne. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Arr. by 
Hasemann-Schumacher Funeral Home in Wayne. 
 
LYONS, Neb. -- Delwin F. PIPER, 95, of Lyons died Nov. 10, 2007.
Services on Nov 14, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons, Neb. 
Burial in Lyons Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion 
Harvey Lenig Post 83 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Robert Klase Post 7998. 
Arr. are under the direction of Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, Neb.
Born Jan. 6, 1912, on the family farm east of West Point, Neb., to Herman and 
M. Elizabeth (Oberhelman) Piper. After his father's death in 1919, the family 
moved into West Point. Enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. Marriage to Pauline M. 
Meyer on Jan. 6, 1946, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Pender, Neb.
Preceded in death by his wife, Pauline on Feb. 20, 2007; his parents, Herman 
and Elizabeth Piper; a brother, Herman Piper; two sisters, Luella Piper and Delores 
and her husband, Al Colwell; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Piper; and 
brothers-in-law and wives, Gib Lang, Marvin and "Babe" Meyer and 
Glenville and Hilda Meyer. 

PENDER, Neb. -- Charles H. PULS, 84, of rural Pender died Nov. 11, 2007.
Services Nov. 17, 2007 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender. Burial in 
St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery. Arr. by Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. 

WALTHILL, Neb. -- Hollis Dorian STABLER, 89, of Walthill died Nov. 12, 2007.
Services on Nov 16, 2007 at Wakon Iron Hall in Pawhuska, Okla. Arr. in Walthill 
are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home in Walthill. Born Feb. 9, 1918, 
to George and Eunice (Woodhull) Stabler, in Hampton, Va. Married to LaVeeda 
Alexander on Nov. 8, 1944, in Pawhuska, Okla. She died Jan. 3, 1999. He moved 
to Winnebago, Neb. in 1976, where he resumed teaching at the Macy (Neb.) School.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in six campaigns in Africa, Sicily and France. 
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Robert; and a 
sister, Marcella Stabler. 

WALTHILL, Neb. -- Elmer LaFleche BLACKBIRD, 86, of Walthill died Nov. 13, 2007
at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alfred Gilpin Building 
in Macy, Neb. Burial will be in Omaha Tribal Cemetery. Arr. are under the direction 
of Munderloh Funeral Home in Walthill.  

PENDER, Neb. -- Leo J.C. STUCKENSCHMIDT, 98, of Manhattan, Kan., formerly 
of Pender, died Nov. 16, 2007. Services Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 
in Pender. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
