LINCOLN - Elizabeth 'Betty' J. CHURDA, 85, of Lincoln died Oct. 27, 2007. 
Born on May 13, 1922 to Albert and Mary Gottberg in Weston. Preceded in 
death by her parents, her husband, Ernest, a brother, Gilbert Gottberg and 
sister, Alberta Petrzelka. Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic 
Church, Lincoln, NE. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. Butherus, Maser 
and Love Funeral Home of Lincoln is in charge of the arrangements.   
 
CRAWFORD - Calvin Leroy PARKINS Sr., 44, of Crawford, died Oct. 25, 2007 
in Rapid City, S.D. He was born Sept. 7, 1963, to Robert and Esther Parkins 
in Fremont. Joined the U. S. Army in 1984 and served until 1989. On Mar 5, 1994, 
he married Pamela Zanker. His grandfathers and a grandmother preceded him in 
death. Services held Nov. 1, 2007. at the Community Building in Crawford with 
the burial at the Crawford Cemetery. Chamberlain Funeral Home is in charge 
of the arrangements.  
 
DALLAS, Texas - Patricia STATON, 55, of Dallas, Texas died Oct. 22, 2007. 
Born Dec. 7, 1951, to Joseph and Josephine Hrdlicka in Wahoo. Her father 
preceded her in death. Services were held Oct. 27 at St. Rita's Catholic 
Church in Dallas, Texas. Restland Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas was in 
charge of the arrangements.  
 
ASHLAND - Floyd Byron VEST, 76, of Greenwood, passed away unexpectedly 
at his home in Greenwood Oct. 25, 2007. Born on a farm near Cowles on 
Feb. 28, 1931 to Clarence "Jack" and Ora (Spracher) Vest. Joined the Navy 
on April 2, 1951 and sailed aboard the USS Iowa where he worked as a fire 
control technician during the Korean War. He and Bonnie Reeve were married 
on Feb. 21, 1954 in Sutton. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence "Jack" 
and Ora Vest. Funeral services were held Oct. 29, 2007 at the United Methodist 
Church in Ashland. Interment followed at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery with 
military honors by Greenwood American Legion 173. 

FREMONT - Ruby A. LUBKER, 105, of Fremont, formerly of Nickerson and Cedar 
Bluffs, died Nov. 5, 2007. Born April 2, 1902, to Robert and Mary (Moore) 
McCauley in Cedar Bluffs. She was a teacher. Married Henry T. Lubker on 
Feb. 14, 1924 in Fremont. Her parents, her husband, an infant daughter 
and 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services held 
Nov. 9, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial at Union Cemetery 
south of Cedar Bluffs. 

WESTON - Leona Helen VASA, 84, of rural Weston, died Nov. 3, 2007 at 
her place of residence. Born on Oct. 10, 1923, to James and Mary (Polak) Egr 
in the Prague area. Married Joseph C. Vasa on April 9, 1947 at Sts. Cyril and 
Methodius Catholic Church at Plasi. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1998. 
Her husband; a brother, Victor Egr and sister, Adeline Vasa, preceded her in death. 
Mass of Christian Burial held Nov. 6, 2007 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church 
in Weston with her son, Most Reverend Robert F. Vasa officiating. 
Burial at Znojemsky Cemetery in rural Weston. 

MURDOCK - Myrtle Luella (Wendt) ZIEGENBEIN, 96, of Murdock, died Oct. 30, 2007 
at Louisville. Born on Aug. 15, 1911 to August F. "Gus" and Martha (Thiemann) 
Wendt at her home near Murdock. She married Carl W. Ziegenbein on Jan. 14, 1956. 
Preceded in death her parents; husband; brothers and their wives Henry and Elsie 
Jane, August and Pearl, Herman and Else, Fred and Lela, Louie and Iola Wendt and 
nephew Wayne Wendt. Services were held on Nov. 2, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran 
Church in Louisville. 

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Kenneth Alexander BOULIER, 91, died Nov. 4, 2007 at 
his home in Glen Burnie, Md. Born on July 18, 1916, to George and Effie Boulier at 
Cedar Buffs. He served 21 years in the U. S. Navy. A brother, Marine S. Boulier, 
preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 9, 2007 at Holy 
Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Glen Burnie. Burial was at Maryland Veterans 
Cemetery in Crownsville, Md. Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services was in 
charge of the arrangements.  
 
SWEDEBURG - Joe C. HABA, 85, of Swedeburg, died Nov. 9, 2007 in Wahoo, NE. 
Born on July 23, 1922, to Ferdinand and Mary (Rezac) Haba at Wahoo. Married 
April 14, 1945, to Eddie Eberhardt at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Preceded 
in death by his parents, sons-in-law, Brent Richardson and Larry Dailey, and 
grandson, Wyatt Gittins. Mass of Christian Burial on Nov. 12, 2007 at 
St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Interment will be at St. Francis 
Cemetery. Svoboda Funeral Home of Wahoo is in charge of the arrangements.  
 
VALPARAISO - Gladys A. LINDHOLM, 85, of Valparaiso, NE died Nov. 7, 2007 in Lincoln. 
Born on Nov. 24, 1921, to William F. and Alma C. (Wayman) Schmohr at Emmet. 
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, a granddaughter, Ashley 
Baker, and brother, Walter Schmohr. Funeral service Nov. 12, 2007 at Roper and 
Sons Chapel at 4300 'O' Street in Lincoln. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. 

FREMONT - Ruby A. LUBKER, 105, of Fremont, formerly of Nickerson and 
Cedar Bluffs, died Nov. 5, 2007. Born April 2, 1902, to Robert and Mary (Moore) 
McCauley in Cedar Bluffs. Attended Fremont Normal College, now Midland 
Lutheran College, in Fremont. She received a teaching certificate.  
Married Henry T. Lubker on Feb. 14, 1924 in Fremont. Her parents, her 
husband, an infant daughter and 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death, 
She is survived by a son, Leon and Doris Lubker of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, 
Colleen Peterson of Fremont; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 
four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services held Nov. 9, 2007 at Salem 
Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial at Union Cemetery south of Cedar Bluffs. 
Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont is in charge of the arrangements.  
 
WAHOO - Dorothy Mabel MALM, 88, of Wahoo, died Nov. 10, 2007. 
Born on Feb. 7, 1919, to Art and Ruth (McDermott) Rasmussen in Colon. 
She attended Luther College in Wahoo and then taught elementary school 
in Tecumseh and Weston for several years prior to her marriage. 
Married Robert Francis Malm on Nov. 3, 1945 at St. Joseph's Catholic 
Church in Colon. The couple farmed near Swedeburg, where they raised 
nine children. Her husband, a granddaughter, Shannon Malm, sisters, 
Mildred Hoban, Ellen Kruce and Gladys Dunavan, preceded her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial held Nov. 15 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church 
in Wahoo. Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo. 
 
WAHOO - Joe Friel McCRIGHT, 96, of Wahoo, died Nov. 9, 2007 in Wahoo. 
Born on Oct. 4, 1911, to Thomas Arthur and Mary Lydia (Williams) McCright 
in Gross. On Mar 23, 1940, he married Viola A. Filbrandt in David City. His 
parents, three brothers, Jay, Floyd and Dwight and two sisters, Zell and 
Zada, preceded him in death. Funeral services held Nov. 16 at the Svoboda 
Funeral Home in Wahoo. Burial will be at a later date. 

OMAHA - Juanita (Buddie) N. BOHN died Nov. 14, 2007. Born in Liberal, KS
on Nov. 30, 1921 to Herschel and Ella Adelaide Ives. On July 1, 1945 married 
Ray A. Bohn in Riverside, CA Her husband died in 2005. Also preceded in death 
by her parents and sisters Bernice, Velma, Helen and Jean. A memorial service 
was held on Nov. 17, 2007 at Lakeside Village Chapel. A private interment was 
held prior to the service. Marcy Mortuary, Ashland was in charge of arrangements.  
 
SAN PEDRO, CA -  Judy Ann (DeHart) BOHON passed away at her home in 
San Pedro, California on Nov. 11, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. 
Born in Omaha to Wilbur and Mildred (Mengler) DeHart on Nov. 14, 1941. 
Graduated from Ashland High School with the Class of 1959. Enlisted in the 
U. S. Navy, where she met her husband John Russell Bohon. Preceded in death 
by her parents; brother Frank; daughter Chantelle and grandson Blake Garcia. 
At her request, Judy was cremated. 
 
GREENWOOD - Richard Lee MINERS of Greenwood, died Nov. 11, 2007 after 
battling cancer for a number of years. Born Oct. 13, 1942 in Wahoo to Richard 
and Marian (Hollst) Miners. Shortly after graduation joined the Navy. He is 
preceded in death by his father Richard Miners. Graveside services Hollst 
Cemetery in Yutan.  
 
CEDAR BLUFFS - Richard E. PEARSON, 70, of Cedar Bluffs, died Nov. 16, 2007. 
Born Oct. 26, 1937 to Carl and Margaret (Biggerstaff) Pearson in Lincoln. 
His parents preceded him in dearth. A memorial service, Nov. 24, 2007 at 
Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. A private family burial will be held. 
 
SEWARD - Helen A. RERUCHA, 89, of Seward, formerly of the Brainard 
area, died Nov. 13, 2007 in Seward. Born on Nov. 25, 1917, to Anton 
and Veronica (Sypal) Bruner in rural Brainard. Married Everest E. Rerucha 
on Aug. 29, 1939 at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. She was a homemaker. 
Her parents, her husband, a brother, George Bruner and a sister, Lucy 
Soukup, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Nov. 16, 2007 
at St. Francis Church in rural David City. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery. 
 
FREMONT - Herbert W. RITTHALER, 91, of Fremont, died Nov. 14, 2007. 
Born May 26, 1916 to William and Dorothea (Mohrman) Ritthaler in Fremont. 
Married Mae A. Carstensen on Dec. 19, 1938 in Papillion. Preceded in death 
by his parents, his wife, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services held 
Nov. 19, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Fremont, NE. Burial at Ridge 
Cemetery in Fremont. Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont is in charge 
of the arrangements.  

YUTAN - Russell Leroy CHRISTIANSEN, 47, died Nov. 17, 2007 as a result of a 
hunting accident near Yutan. Born on Feb. 23, 1960 to Wilbur and Sharon (Andersen) 
Christiansen in Omaha. Married Angela Knight on Sept. 12, 1987 at the Bethany 
Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. Funeral held Nov. 21, 2007 at Bethany Lutheran 
Church in Elkhorn. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery. 
 
WAHOO - Evelyn COE, 94, of Wahoo, died Nov. 23, 2007. 
Born on Dec. 5, 1912, to Fred J. and Clara Marie (Martin) Stamp near Yutan. 
Married Alfred Coe on Feb. 3, 1946. An infant daughter, her parents, and sister, 
Leona McClinton, preceded her in death. Funeral services Nov. 27 at the 
Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Hollst Lawn 
Cemetery in Yutan. 
 
WAHOO - Liam "Lucky" James DUNAVAN, infant son of Jennie and Jesse 
Dunavan of Wahoo, was born and died on Nov. 18, 2007. Memorial Mass 
held Nov. 23 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Private interment 
at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo. Svoboda Funeral Home of Wahoo is in 
charge of the arrangements.  
 
HASTINGS - Robert D. ECKHOFF, 73, of Hastings, formerly of Holdrege and 
Sutherland, died Nov. 26, 2007. Born at Sutherland on Aug. 27, 1934 to Alva 
and Jewell (Oliver) Eckhoff. Marriage to Rosalee Rieger on Feb. 21, 1954 in 
Falls City. Preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Alvin. 
A memorial service will be held Nov. 30, 2007. at the United Methodist 
Church in Sutherland. Inurnment will follow at Sutherland Cemetery.
 
OMAHA - Ruth M. KILLINGSWORTH, 94, of Omaha, died Nov. 17, 2007. 
She was born May 28, 1913 in Dexter, Iowa. Services held Nov. 26, 2007 
at Dexter United Methodist Church in Dexter, Iowa. Interment at the 
Dexter, Iowa Cemetery. Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West 
Center Chapel in Omaha is in charge of the arrangements.  
 
WAHOO - Martha A. SIEMSEN, 84, of Wahoo, NE died Nov. 17. 2007. 
Born Oct. 24, 1923 to John and Antonia (Smolik) Pokorny in Malmo, NE. 
Married Clarence Siemsen on Aug. 3, 1946 at Czech Presbyterian Church 
in rural Weston. Her parents, husband, brother, Stanley Pokorny, sister, 
Mary Jansa and an infant brother, preceded her in death. Funeral services 
Nov. 20 at the Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunrise 
Cemetery in Wahoo.
