Funeral services for Opal "Ellie" FAGAN of Lincoln held May 1, 2007 
at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. She died April 26, 2007 
at the age of 73. Married Donald W. Fagan on Feb. 20, 1954, in Lincoln. 
Her husband preceded her in death. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. 

YUTAN - Kenneth Lee HALTERMAN, 64, of Yutan, died April 27, 2007 
at his home near Yutan. Born Mar 12, 1943, to Jeff and Hazel (Mason) 
Halterman in rural Cook. Married Dian Reed on June 2, 1962 at the Christian 
Church in Louisville. His parents, and an infant brother precede him in death. 
Funeral services: May 1, 2007 at the Reichmuth Funeral Home in Yutan. 
Interment will be at Hollst Lawn Cemetery near Yutan. 
 
MEAD - John E. HEALD, 81, of Mead, died April 26, 2007 in Fremont. 
Born Sept. 8, 1925, to Richard and Ora (Neff) Heald on the family farm 
near Mead. Married Margaret Nelson Converse on March 23, 1967. 
Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Benn Heald, sister, Jean 
Roberts; son-in-law, Gary Dunbar; brother-in-law, Vernon Hawkinson, 
a great-grandchild and a niece. Memorial service: April 30, 2007 at the 
Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. 
 
PRAGUE - Joseph F. KASPAR, 86, of Prague, died April 29, 2007 at his 
home in Prague. Born May 8, 1920 to Dr. Joseph F. and Antionette (Jambor) 
Kaspar in Prague. On Sept. 18, 1940 he married Norma Brabec in Papillion. 
Joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a bomber pilot until the 
end of the war in 1945. His parents, his wife and a brother, Oliver Kaspar, 
preceded him in death. There will be no funeral service as he donated his 
body to Creighton Medical Center for research. 
 
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Dr. William F. KRALIK, J.D., Esq., 90, died Mar 27, 2007. 
Born May 27, 1916, to Frank and Mary (Woita) Kralik in Weston. Served as a Lt. 
Commander in the U. S. Navy during WW II in Western Australia, Asia and Singapore. 
On June 1, 1949 he married Nola Jean Nielsen. His parents, six sisters and four 
brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services Mar 31, 2007 in the Larkin 
Sunset Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City. Interment was at Larkin Sunset Lawn. 
 
PRAGUE - Agnes MUSILEK, 88, of Prague died May 1, 2007 in Omaha. 
Born Dec. 23, 1918, to Anton and Marie (Rerucha) Ludvik in Dwight. 
She was a teacher. On Sept. 24, 1945, Agnes married George Musilek 
and they raised three children on a farm near Prague. Preceded in death 
by her husband of 51 years, George, a brother, Anton "Red" Ludvik and 
a sister, Antonette Ludvik. Mass of Christian Burial was held May 4, 2007 at 
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. Internment was in St. John's 
Cemetery in Prague. 
 
NORTH BEND - Rose L. NESLADEK, 96, of North Bend, formerly of Morse Bluff, 
died April 27, 2007. Born July 17, 1910, to Frank and Rose (Matejek) Blatny in 
Weston. Married Frank Hanis on May 19, 1931 in Prague. He died Nov. 24, 1966. 
Married Philip J. Nesladek on Aug. 30, 1969 at Abie. He died March 26, 1989. 
Preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, four brothers, Frank, Joe, 
Ted and Ernest Blatny; a sister, Josephine Belik; a stepdaughter, Joan Van 
Ampting; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Hanis and Jan Hallowell. Mass of Christian 
Burial: April 30 at St. George Catholic Church in Morse Bluff. Burial at 
Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery at Abie. 
 
Funeral services for Erik Robert WENTZEL of Walton were May 1, 2007 
at Trinity Lutheran Church near Walton. Wentzel, 27, died in Lincoln after a 
lengthy illness. Born April 15, 1984 in Grand Forks, N.D., the son of Robert 
and Deon (Hanson) Wentzel. Preceded in death by: grandparents, Warner 
and Florence Wentzel. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in 
Fisher Minn., at a later date. 

ASHLAND - Don Richard BEER, 72, of Ashland, died May 3, 2007. 
He was born on Jan. 31, 1935, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Joseph F. Beer 
and Bernice (Harris) Beer. Preceded in death by his brother Joe Beer. 
A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery 
in rural Greenwood. Marcy Mortuary in charge of arrangements. 

LINCOLN - Ernest J. CHURDA, 86, of Lincoln, died May 4, 2007 in Lincoln. 
Born Oct. 16, 1920 to James and Mary (Paseka) Churda in Morrehead, Minn. 
His parents preceded him in death. Funeral service held May 9, 2007 at 
St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lincoln. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. 
Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home of Lincoln is in charge of the 
arrangements.  
 
ASHLAND - Lamar Forrest CONVERSE, 91, of Ashland, died May 2, 2007. 
Born on Aug. 6, 1915, in Memphis to Lynn E. and Salomia A. (Gordon) Converse. 
He entered the U. S. Army on Jan. 24, 1942. Preceded in death by his wife Irene; 
brother Ellis V. Converse and sister Verna Blodgett. Funeral services were held at 
on May 5, 2007 at the Marcy Chapel. There was also a Masonic Service given 
by Pomegranate Lodge 110 AF & AM. Burial followed at the Ashland Cemetery 
with military rites given by American Legion Post 129. 
 
LINCOLN - Herman I. HARNEY, 88, Lincoln, died May 6, 2007. 
Born to Anna Belle and Herman Harney, Sr., in a log cabin in Nicholas County, Ky. 
Served in WWII.  Preceded in death by parents, brother, Brunker L. Harney and 
sister, Blossom Harney.  A celebration of life service May 10 at Roper and Sons 
Chapel, Lincoln, NE. Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery with American Legion 
and/or Veterans of Foreign Wars participating in graveside services. 
 
WAHOO - Glenn E. KARLOFF, 93, of Wahoo, died May 6, 2007 in Lincoln. 
Born Feb. 5, 1914 to John and Minnie (Miller) Karloff on a farm north of Yutan. 
Married Dorene M. Larson on July 14, 1940 in Bennington. Preceded in death 
by his wife Dorene, his parents, brother, Orvin Karloff, and sister, Erna Nelson. 
Numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews survive him. 
Funeral services May 10, 2007 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yutan. 
Interment will be at Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan. 
 
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Dr. William F. KRALIK, J.D., Esq., 90, died Mar 27, 2007 
in Salt Lake City. Born May 27, 1916, to Frank and Mary (Woita) Kralik in Weston. 
Served as a Lt. Commander in the U. S. Navy during WWII in Western Australia, 
Asia and Singapore. He served in the Korean War and was appointed to serve 
on the War Crimes Commission. On June 1, 1949 he married Nola Jean Nielsen. 
His parents, six sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services 
were held Mar 31, 2007 in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City.
Interment was at Larkin Sunset Lawn. 
 
WAHOO - Enola B. Larson, 97, of Wahoo, died May 3, 2007. 
Born Mar 25, 1910, to Fred and Lillie (Karsten) Miller in Yutan. 
On Aug. 14, 1929, she married Everett Larson at Council Bluffs, Iowa. 
Her parents, her husband and brother, Delmer Miller, preceded her in death. 
A daughter, Delores B. Larson of Wahoo; several cousins and many friends survive her. 
Memorial service was held May 7, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Wahoo. 
Inurnment was at Sunrise North Cemetery in Wahoo 
 
WAKEFIELD - Margaret H. LUNDAHL, 92, of Wakefield, died May 7, 2007. 
Born on Mar 15, 1915 to Frank and Anna (Passo) Karloff near Mead. 
On Nov.1, 1936 she was married to Don F. Schneider. He died on 
Mar 18, 1976. On Oct. 30, 1977, she was wed to Emanuel "Monie" 
Lundahl. They resided in Wakefield. Her parents, her husbands, two 
sisters, six brothers and a granddaughter, Melinda, preceded her in death. 
Funeral services held on May 10, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield. 
Burial will be in the Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan at 2:30 p.m. 
 
PRAGUE - Agnes MUSILEK, 88, of Prague died May 1, 2007 in Omaha. 
Agnes was born Dec. 23, 1918, to Anton and Marie (Rerucha) Ludvik 
in Dwight. She taught in Butler, Seward and Saunders County School 
Districts. On Sept. 24, 1945, Agnes married George Musilek. 
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George, a 
brother, Anton "Red" Ludvik and a sister, Antonette Ludvik. 
Mass of Christian Burial was held May 4, 2007 at St. John the 
Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. Internment was in St. John's 
Cemetery in Prague. 
 
GREENWOOD - Mary A. NYE, 70, of Greenwood, died May 4, 2007 at 
St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln. Born in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. on 
Apr. 25, 1937, to Lawrence and Myrtle (Moore) Mackey. Married James 
Mallien and they had three sons, David, Dan and Don. After their marriage 
ended, she moved to Lincoln. She married Orlin R. Nye and they moved to 
Greenwood. They had a daughter, Cherie. Her husband preceded her in death 

NORTH BEND - Leo C. PETERSEN, 78, of North Bend, died May 10, 2007. 
Born Jan. 25, 1929 to George and Mary (Brousek) Petersen in Cedar Bluffs. 
Served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He received the Purple 
Heart Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 
three Bronze Service Stars and Army of Occupation Medal (Japan). 
On Jan. 21, 1978 he married Dorothy Paschen Ostrand at St. Charles 
Catholic Church in North Bend. His parents preceded him in death. 
Mass of Christian Burial was May 14, 2007 at St. Charles Catholic 
Church in North Bend. Burial at the Cedar Hill Cemetery near 
Morse Bluff with military graveside services. 
 
ABIE - Joseph A. PROCHASKA, 80, of Abie died May 6, 2007 in Lincoln. 
Joe was born Feb. 24, 1927, to Joseph F. and Lucille (Bartunek) Prochaska 
in Abie. Served in the U. S. Army from 1945 to 1947. On Sept. 19, 1964, he 
married Bernadette Jirovsky in Seward. His parents preceded him in death. 
Mass of Christian Burial was May 9, 2007 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church in Abie. Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery with military 
graveside services by Rejda American Legion Post 273 of Brainard. 

WAHOO - Martin Kelly SHANAHAN, Sr., 79, of Wahoo, passed away on 
May 4, 2007. Born on Jan. 14, 1928, to Emmett and Marcella (Kelly) Shanahan 
in Malmo. On Jan. 7, 1950, he married Juanita Alvina Hoffman of Cedar Bluffs. 
Served in both WWII and the Korean War. Preceded in death by his parents 
and two brothers, Harold Shanahan and John (Jack) Shanahan. Mass of 
Christian Burial was May 8, 2007 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. 
Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery with military honors by American 
Legion Post 82 and VFW Post 4502 of Wahoo. 
 
WAHOO - Matthew "Matt" Joseph WOITA, 28, of Wahoo, died May 4, 2007  
in Lincoln. Born Sept. 2, 1978 to Nick J. and Peg (Heindryckx) Woita in 
Wahoo. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolph and Sally Woita, 
Bob Heindryckx Sr., and aunt, Mary Ellen Heindryckx. Mass of Christian 
Burial was held May 7 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. 
Interment was at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo. 

BRAINARD - Woodrow A. DVORAK, 88, of Brainard, died May 16 in David City. 
Born May 27, 1918 to Frank A. and Josephine (Slama) Dvorak in rural Brainard. 
Served in the U. S. Army in the 35th Division. On June 16, 1942 he married 
Evelyn M. Hasik of Bruno in the Church of the Holy Angels in Los Angeles, Calif. 
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Frank, Ray, Joseph and 
Oscar Dvorak, and sisters, Libby Dvorak and Hilda Dvorak Rezek. Mass of 
Christian Burial was held May 19 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. 
Burial was at Holy Trinity Cemetery at Brainard. Holesovsky Mortuary of 
Brainard was in charge of the arrangements. 
 
FREMONT - Edward R. KOUTNY, 82, of Fremont, died May 15, 2007. 
Born Feb. 19, 1925 to Lloyd and Barbara (Brabec) Koutny in Colon. 
Served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He farmed his entire life in 
the Colon area and moved to Fremont in 2004. Preceded in death 
by his parents, an infant brother, Lloyd Koutny and a sister, Marie 
Kobza. Graveside services May 21 at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo. 
Military graveside services will be conducted by the members of 
American Legion Post 82 and VFW Post 4502 of Wahoo. 
 
BRAINARD - Lucille M. SOUKUP, 98, of Brainard, formerly of Laurel, Md.
died May 3 in Lincoln. Born May 10, 1908, to Anton and Veronica (Sypal) 
Bruner at Brainard. Married Edward J. Soukup in 1929 at Seward. Preceded 
in death by her parents, her husband on Aug. 18, 1956; one grandson, 
Allen Kudlacek and one brother, George Bruner. Funeral services were 
held May 7 at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. Burial was at Holy Trinity 
Cemetery in Brainard. Chermok Funeral Home of David City was in 
charge of the arrangements.  
 
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Ruth Gladys THORSTON, 88, of Lee's Summit, Mo., 
formerly of Wahoo, died May 15. Born Mar 18, 1919, to Walter Cox and 
Nettie (Brown) Johnson on the family farm near Hamburg, Iowa. Married 
Russell Thorston of Wahoo in 1949. Her parents, her husband, two sisters 
and four brothers preceded her in death. A memorial service was held on 
May 21 at the Lee's Summit United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the 
Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, Iowa on Memorial weekend. 

FREMONT - Larry S. CAMPBELL, 67, of Fremont, died in Omaha May 26, 2007. 
Born in Plattsmouth on April 14, 1940. Married Diana Allison on Nov. 19, 1960 
in Plattsmouth. Services were held May 30 at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral 
Chapel in Fremont. Burial followed at Lewiston Cemetery in Plattsmouth. 
 
PAPILLION - Beverly J. GRIFFIN, 71, of Papillion, formerly of Wann, died 
at her home after a long battle with cancer on May 27, 2007. 
Born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Laverne, Okla. to Clarence and Josephine (Wilson) 
Johnson. Married to Jerald Griffin on June 26, 1952 in Woodward, Okla. 
Preceded in death by her husband on June 15, 1990. Burial at Ashland 
Cemetery in Ashland after a private family service. 
 
PLEASANT DALE - Glen E. HINDMARSH, 84, of Pleasant Dale, died May 23, 2007. 
Born on Jan. 20, 1923, to George Wesley and Beulah (Northway) Hindmarsh in 
Fremont. Served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Preceding him in death 
were his parents, brother Darren (Bud), and sister Ruth Labadie. A funeral service 
was held at Wyuka Funeral Home, in Lincoln, NE on May 30, 2007. Interment 
was in Wyuka Cemetery.   
 
VALPARAISO - Jacqueline J. HLADIK, 69, of Valparaiso, died May 27, 2007
in Lincoln. Born on Jan. 3, 1938 to Frank and Martha (Svoboda) Dolezal in 
Greeley, Colo. She graduated from Dwight Assumption High School in 1955. 
On April 30, 1956 married John Hladik. Her parents preceded her in death. 
Mass Christian Burial May 30, 2007. at Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church 
in Valparaiso. Burial will be at St. Vitus Cemetery at Touhy. 
 
NORTH BEND - Marvin F. McGINN, 89, of North Bend, died May 25, 2007 in Fremont. 
Born Oct. 6, 1917 to Patrick and Clara (Walla) McGinn in rural Morse Bluff. Served in 
the U. S. Army during WWII. Married Irene Spath on Sept. 17, 1941 in Fremont. 
Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Patrick and Jimmy McGinn. 
Mass of Christian Burial May 29, 2007 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. 
Burial will be at Wood-land Cemetery at North Bend. With military graveside honors 
conducted by the VFW Post 8223 and AmVets Post 20 of North Bend and American 
Legion Post 340 of Morse Bluff. 
 
SUN CITY, Ariz. - Arnold Chester WEED, 91, died Feb. 22, 2007. 
Born on July 27, 1915 in Woodbine, Iowa to Arthur and Lula (Goodwin) Weed. 
On Aug. 27, 1941 he married Ruth Erickson on Papillion. Preceded in death by 
two sisters Inez Divelbus and Thelma Franklin. A graveside service was held
May 26, 2007. at the Ashland Cemetery.
