Marriage to Maxine Smith on Dec 24, 1944 at Gresham, NE. Served in the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one grandson. Funeral services: Feb 24, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church. Interment followed at the Stromsburg Cemetery. Bob HUSAK died at home on Feb 7, 2007 at the age of 74. A resident of San Rafael, CA for over 45 years, Son of the late Fritz and Carolyn Husak, Bob was born in David City, NE. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A Rosary service was held on Feb 16th and funeral Mass on Feb 17th at St. Raphael’s Church. E. Dean EVERITT, Sr., age 82, of Lincoln, died Feb 23, 2007. Born on Nov 6, 1924 in Omaha, NE. U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran of WWII and was in the #1036 Special Seabee Detachment and 27th Special Seabee Battalion “B” Company from Aug 1943-Mar 1946. Married Dolores Peterson on Dec 20, 1947. To this union, four children were born. Preceded in death by his wife Dee Everitt, daughter Kristine Everitt, and son Jon Walter Everitt. PETERSEN, age 19, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, passed away Mar 3, 2007 as a result of a car accident west of Stromsburg. Funeral services: Mar 7, 2007 at the Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg. Mary Jo GABEL, age 70, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away Mar 15, 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services: Mar 19, 2007 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, in Osceola. Born July 19, 1936 to Edward J. and Lucie (Farmer) Rolenc Sr. in Hackberry Precinct, near Gresham, Nebraska. On June 12, 1956, married Charles L. Gabel at Ulysses Immaculate Conception Church. Preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lucie Rolenc; sister Rita Hruska; and son-in-law David Hill. Ivan Harley HASTINGS was born on May 3, 1920, at home, at the family farm near Silver Creek, NE, the fifth son and ninth child of Warren DeWitt Hastings and Almyra Wisely Hastings.On Oct 22, 1939, he married Miss Glennis Maxine Timm, at the First Methodist Church, in Osceola, NE. To this union was born one daughter, Nancy.Veteran of WWII, Ivan served in the 326th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 13th Airborne Division. He was admitted to Veterans Hospital in Phoenix, where he passed away Mar 11, 2007. Preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, by his parents, Warren and Almyra, by three brothers, George, Charles, and DeWitt (Dee), by four sisters, Alyce, Hazel, Fern, and Neva, and by his dear Companion, Betty. A private family memorial was held at the Kelly Ryan Dugan home, in Peoria, AZ. on Mar 15, 2007, to be followed, at a future date by his inurnment at Swede Home Cemetery, near Stromsburg, Nebraska. John E. DARO, age 83, of Garrison, passed away Mar 17, 2007 in Lincoln following a heart attack. Funeral services: Mar 20th at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rising City. Chermok Funeral Home in David City was in charge of arrangements. Born Dec 9, 1923 at Ulysses, NE to John and Martha (Fricke) Daro. Served in the US Air Corp during World War II. Survivors include his special friend Ruth Hanson; sisters Frieda Kindler of David City, Esther Remmers and Mabel Hulsenga, both of Garrison; many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
