Edward Algya officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery, Seward. Beverly C. (Rolenc) KOTIL, 54, Staplehurst, died May 29, 2007, in Seward. Born Mar 28, 1953, to Clement Frank and Evelyn Mae (Lewis) Rolenc near Ulysses. On Oct. 6, 1973, she married Danny Lee Kotil in Seward. Preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Evelyn Rolenc; and sisters, Mercedes Potrzeba, Teri Towey and Mary Lou Peacock. Funeral services were June 1 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Seward, with the Rev. Rand Langhorst officiating. Interment was at Seward Cemetery. Gary Glenn METZGER, 63, Pleasant Dale, died May 29, 2007, in Lincoln. Born Feb. 23, 1944, to John D. and Lois Elaine (Ficke) Metzger in Oklahoma City, Okla. On Mar 22, 1967, he married Mary Jane Pelter in Norfolk. Preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Lois Metzger Westerhoff Christiansen; and stepfathers, Lloyd Westerhoff and Elmer Christiansen. Funeral services June 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pleasant Dale. A private interment was at Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Edwin August SCHULTZ, Jr., 60, Seward, died May 27, 2007, in Seward. Born July 16, 1946, to Edwin August, Sr., and Irene Marie (Schulte) Schultz in Lincoln. He graduated from Seward High School in 1964. On July 26, 1969 married Susan Atkinson. He was a barber in Lincoln and later became owner of the Staplehurst Barber Shop. On Feb. 26, 2005, he married Jennifer T. Maryniak in Kansas City, Mo. Preceded in death by his parents, Edwin A., Sr., and Irene Schultz. Funeral services were June 2 at Wood-Zabka Funeral Home Chapel, Seward Roland Brunn STELZER, 83, Houston, Texas, died May 24, 2007. Born July 19, 1923, to Theodore G. and Hattie Stelzer in Racine, Wis. Served in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by his wife, Florence Marion Tipton; and brother, Herbert Stelzer. Funeral services were May 29 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Houston. Interment was at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston. Margaret Ann HASIK, 83, died June 16 at Bryan/LGH West Hospital in Lincoln. Born May 6, 1924, to Anton J. and Matilda (Paseka) Riha on a farm northwest of Brainard. On April 22, 1944, she married Emil Stava. After his death in 1971, she married Clarence Ross in Nov. of that year. Ross died in 2001 and she married George L. Hasik in 2005. Preceded in death by husbands Emil Stava and Clarence Ross; son, Kenneth Stava; son-in-law Guy Hyberger; brothers Leo, Laddie, Raymond, Eugene and Civtor Riha; and sisters Agnes Stavaa and Marie Stava. Funeral services were held May 19, 2007 at St. Mary's Church in David City. Burial services were at St. Mary's Cemetery. Adam G. HEROLD, Specialist US Army, 23, Omaha, died June 10, 2007 in Iraq. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Don McGrew; grandmother Ann Herold; aunt Judy Jarolimek; uncle Frank DeHart; and cousin Jesse Herold. Vigil service was June 19 at the St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha. Funeral Mass , June 20 at the St. Cecilia Cathedral. Thadeus DeWISPELARE, 17, David City, died June 18, 2007, in an car accident near Dwight. Born on July 27, 1989, to Ron and Sharon DeWispelare in David City. Preceded in death by grandparents Harry and Marie DeWispelare. Services will be held on June 30, at St. Mary's Church, David City. Alvin Leroy EICKMEIER, 70, died on June 16, 2007, in Seward. Born April 18, 1937, in Fairbury to William and Rose Eickmeier. On Oct 15, 1960, he married Margaret E. Conkling in Stromsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Eickmeier; and brother William. Services were held on June 22 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Seward. Oscar Henrik MUMM, 95, died on June 24, 2007, in Seward. Born on Dec. 8, 1911, on a farm two miles east of Staplehurst to John Henrick and Mary Mumm. On Nov. 27, 1941, married Wilma Munk in Staplehurst. Served in the National Guard in Europe during WWII. It was there he earned five battle stars and was awarded the Purple Heart. Preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; and three sisters, Edna Stanley, Ruth Smith and Alina Brabo. Services will be held on June 28 at Faith Lutheran Church in Seward with burial following at Seward Cemetery. Paul Stanley STRYSON, 88, Seward, died June 23, 2007. Born July 5, 1918 to Dr. Claude Charles and Laura Gertrude Stryson in Seward. On May 9, 1942, he married Emily Jean Hughes of Seward. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp.
