Grant Tribune Sentinel June 2007 Raymond L. HORINE, age 72 years, Omaha, died June 10, 2007, at his home in Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel & Josephine; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Jeannie. Services were held June 13, 2007 at the West Center Chapel in Omaha, with full military honors by Benson VFW Post 2503. Ed MARTENS was born on Dec. 22, 1920 at Beatrice, Neb. He was the youngest of five sons born to Diedrich and Elizabeth Brott Martens. He was a U.S. Air Force Aviation Cadet. Married Pauline Struckman of Brule, Neb. on May 22, 1943 at Oxnard, Calif. Pauline died in Aug of 2004. He died on June 10, 2007. He had reached the age of 86. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Herbert, Gilbert and Otto; two half-brothers, John and Fred. Mass of Christian burial was June 13 at the Mother of Sorrows Church. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery with a military tribute by the Perkins County veterans. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Genevieve Wood NAHRGANG of Boulder, Colo., died June 6, 2007. Born in Wallace, Neb., to John Mose Wood and Lottie Halligan Wood on May 15, 1910. Married Dr. George B. Nahrgang in Greeley, Colo., Aug. 27, 1939. She was a teacher in Nebraska public schools for 11 years before her marriage. Services were held at the First United Methodist Church of Boulder June 13, 2007. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery. Edith M. Tatum HEAGNEY, 86, of Curtis, Neb., passed away on June 16, 2007. Edith Mae Raney was born on May 28, 1921 to Eli and Emma A. (Parker) Raney at Wallace, Neb. On Oct. 12, 1938, married Bert V. Tatum at Julesburg, Colo. To this union five children were born: Alice, Marion, Joyce, David and Gladys. Bert died on Feb. 15, 1958. Her second husband Leo died on Oct. 25, 1995. Preceded in death by two infant sisters, her parents, her husbands Bert Tatum and Leo Heagney, a daughter Alice Walker and a daughter-in-law Sue Tatum. Funeral services were held June 20, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Curtis. Burial was at the Morning View Cemetery in Wallace, Neb. Bruce Leon McCORMICK, age 53 of Ogallala, Neb., passed away June 18, 2007 in Longmont, Colo. Born Jan. 19, 1954 in Grant, Neb., the son of Everett and Della (Jensen) McCormick. Married Tammy Skinner on Mar 20, 1982. Three sons, Josh, Jake and Joe and one daughter, Sarah were born to this union. Preceded in death by his father, Everett McCormick and a half brother, James Kelso. Memorial services June 23 at the Ogallala Radiant Life Assembly of God Church.
