Imperial Republican July 2007 Merle KIRKPATRICK, longtime resident of Imperial, Neb., passed away July 7, 2007. Survivors include daughters, Cheryl Honours of Sharon, Conn., Merlena Collins of Colorado and Kathy Roberts of Pueblo, Colo.; sister, Eva Oehlerich of Ellensburg, Wash. Graveside inurnment services held July 11, 2007, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Liewer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Arpha Beulah THOMAS was born Aug. 7, 1912, to Henry C. and Clara E. (Tiechmeier) Clausen in Rockville, in Sherman Co., Neb. Married Ernest F. Hemmerling Nov. 13, 1933. They lived in the Beaver City, Wood River and Grand Island areas until Ernest's death in 1940. On April 15, 1941, Arpha married Jesse Jewell Thomas. Jewell died in 1968. Arpha died July 5, 2007, just one month short of her 95th birthday. Preceding Arpha in death were her parents, her husbands, her sister, Leona, and a brother, Rupert. Memorial services will be held July 18, 2007, 10:30 a.m. at the regular Zion Lutheran services at the Imperial Manor. Graveside inurnment at the Ebenezer Cemetery near Boelus will be held at a later date. Billy Dale PRIBBENO was born Jan. 14, 1928 in Chase Co., NE to Valma Fay and William Henry Pribbeno. Enlisted in the Navy and spent time on the USS Midway. Married Babette Stenger in 1963. They had three children: Sue, Jeff and Lori. Bill passed away July 17, 2007, at Hearthstone in York, Neb. He was 79. Preceded in death by a sister, Gloria, and his parents. Memorial services were held July 20, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Imperial. Military rites were by Imperial V.F.W. Post #4688, Imperial. Interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial. Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Richard C. DITTBERNER, age 62, of Sidney, Iowa, formerly of Canton, S.D. and Imperial, Neb., died July 18, 2007 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, S.D. unexpectedly while traveling. Born Aug. 24, 1944 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Carl F. Dittberner and Mignon Blanche (Olsen) Dittberner. On Feb. 25, 1994, married Gloria (Lyons) Zuck in Rock Port, Mo. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held July 23, at the Hamburg United Trinity Church. Interment was in the Sidney, Iowa Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Williams-Jobe-Gibson American Legion Post #128 of Sidney. The Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Vesta ATHEY of Imperial died July 27, 2007, in Imperial. Memorial services were held July 31, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Imperial.
