DONALD TINCHER

Donald TINCHER, 54, Potter, died Thursday, Oct. 10 at Memorial Health Center in Sidney. His funeral will be Monday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Sidney with Pastor Birky officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery. Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Sidney Evangelical Free Church, Camp Rock at Redington, Neb. and the Potter Historical Foundation (Potter Sundry). Don was born Jan. 18, 1948 in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of Clifford and Mary Gladys (Hunton) Tincher. At the age of 16, he realized his need of a savior and put his faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Don graduated from Greenland High School in Greenland, Ark. in 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971, during which time he was aboard the USS Forrestall in the Mediterranean Sea for six months. Don married his wife of Sidney on July 24, 1971 at the Dix Bible Church in Dix. To this union two daughters were born. He was a faithful and loving husband of 31 years. Don worked on a construction crew building houses in Denver, Colo. in 1971 and 1972. In 1973, the couple moved to Broken Arrow, Okla. where Don buried telephone cable. They then moved to Potter in the fall of 1979 and helped Bennie Herboldsheimer build his house. Don became employed with the Rural Electric Company, now High West Energy, Inc. of Pine Bluffs, Wyo. in 1980, working at the Potter outpost. He was a lineman for the company for 22 years. Just before Don was diagnosed with cancer, he went on a mission trip to Matamoras, Mexico to assist in building a church. He faithfully used his carpentry skills to construct communion tables and pulpits for several churches. He also did carpentry work in the Potter area. Don will be remembered for his willingness to help others, his carpentry work and his special harmonica music. Survivors include his wife; two daughters; his brother and wife; his three sisters and their husbands and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wanda Meyers.
